Insurance unclear
Hi,
I found a very competitive price and enjoyed the ease of the booking process. Opted for full insurance. Didn't realize insurance was not linked to the actual car rental company (East Coast Car Rentals). I would have had to cover all damage cost first, then try to get money back. Ended up paying way more than I had expected, to reduce that risk. East Coast Car Rentals consultant recommended to book directly at counter, not via 3rd party platform.

As a booking agency, the protection offered on our website is independent reimbursement protection provided by Rental Cover, not by the rental company directly. Customers are advised during the booking process that the protection is provided by Rental Cover, and after booking, a separate email from them includes the policy details and certificate.
Since this is third-party protection, the standard bond and excess from East Coast Car Rentals still apply. If the vehicle is damaged, you’d pay the rental company first, then claim the full repair cost back from Rental Cover in line with the terms of your protection.

Out-of office hours never mentioned forshuttle
Book rental from Launceston airport. The dropoff time selected was 7.30am It mentioned shuttle bus available, never said it's out of office hour because usually rentals start at 7am. At dropoff day I had to drop car at rental place and walk all the way back arount 3km on the cold terrible weather in Tassi. Its hard to find a taxi or uber in that place at that time

Thanks for the replay: for your understanding the depot working time is from 9am to 4pm / 5pm. Not from 7 am. So it should flagged when I choose 7 am drop off. Please update the timming and make it easy for your coustomers. Hope you understand the issue now. As per your replay you still think the depot working time is 7am to 8pm but achually its not. Its from 9am not sure about the end time but i am sure it much earlier than 8pm

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how inconvenient this must have been. Upon reviewing the booking details, the scheduled drop-off time was 7:00 am. As the depot operates between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm, this would not have been flagged as an out-of-hours return. The operating hours were also stated at the time of booking and on your confirmation voucher. If a drop-off time outside these hours is selected, the system would not display availability with this rental company.

We’ve since reviewed your case and can confirm that your booking has been cancelled and the refund has already been processed.
It also looks like the email address used at the time of booking was different from the one you later used to contact us, which may have contributed to not receiving the confirmation email and required further verification to proceed with your request.

I’m still waiting to hear back from a claim, where our rental car was hit while parked. We had to pay the rental cars excess, now over 3 months have heard nothing regarding this claim!
We have only just got our money back from the rental car company. But have heard nothing from our actual insurance company.
