This review is for Crystal Towers in Arlington. Don’t rent from these assholes. First extra charges added 50% to the cost. Second the site states it cost $5.00 per day to park but in reality it cost $20 plus fees. I have yet to learn the fees. Third it is April 6 in Washington and there is zero air conditioning until May 15. Getting information on how to park took an hour. It took another half hour to get password for internet.

WeHost Scam, BedBugs

I had booked an apartment from Wehost in Washington DC, Crystal City. While planning a family vacation to Washington DC, I found an apartment on Expedia. It was a listing for “Restful Stay in DC Apartments”. The photos looked to be a good fit for our family of five and clean. It showed good reviews on Expedia. I booked the apartment for 5 nights for our summer vacation. The day before the trip I received an email from Wehost, who is in the renting agency of the apartment. Email stated I would need to pay an additional fee of 10$ a day per person (for only 2 people maximum) to use the pool at the apartment. As a family of 5 this pool was originally part of the selling point if why we chose to stay in this apartment. It would cost an extra 100$ and only 2 of the 5 in our family were allowed to use pool on property?!? This was an added undisclosed fee. The listing upon booking stated pool was an amenity. There was ZERO mention of paying more money for the pool use. This is a breach of the FTC Ruling that went into effect on May 12, 2025 of unfair and deceptive fee pricing tactics by short term leasing agencies.
Unfortunately, my experience with this apartment only gets worse. When we checked in we noticed the lobby was extremely old and not what pictures presented online. They had cockroaches on the floor. When we got on the floor of the apartment it smelled of marijuana and door lock was defective and took minutes to unlock. Upon proceeding into the apartment we discovered photos in listing were misleading and I had been scammed. The apartment was filthy, dated and smelled. I immediately checked beds for cleanliness. We discovered bedbugs, hair and finger/toenail clippings in bedding! After discovering the bedbugs we immediately vacated the room and returned the key to the “keycafe” and checked out. I immediately reported to Expedia (who I booked the trip through) and they were unable to ratify the situation. I have had zero response from Wehost and I was 100% scammed. I feel so stupid because digging deeper I discovered this is a reoccurring problem with this company. I also will never use Expedia again. They should have helped make situation right and not allow a company like this to list on their site and generate false positive reviews.

Just don’t.

Just don’t.

Was visiting Miami and saw their array of nice listings and booked one because it was cheaper than their Airbnb listings. Days before my flight they call to let me know there is maintenance in the building and I can’t stay there. They offered two other rooms which were far smaller different locations and overall worse. Had to fumble to find a new place to stay, lesson learned.

Con Artists at the core

They mislead in their listings and then refuse to acknowledge the lies after booking. They were horrible to deal with once the lies were discovered and refused to do anything to make it right. I will NEVER book anything with their name on it again and would recommend anyone reading this to avoid them at all costs. Truly horrible.

BadHost

My friends and I booked with WeHost via Aironb for a Miami trip. It had an odor, mold in the bathroom, leaking sinks, dirty bedding, and no key for the amenities. We kept requesting to be connected to the property manager, but they refused. After the trip, they tried to charge us twice for the missing amenity key that we kept telling them that we needed throughout the stay. When I wrote an honest review on Aironb, it was removed. BEWARE!

Dont Stay in a WeHost Condo

TLDR I would not rent from this agency again, but knowing whom you are renting from will be a challenge. **Look for the woven brown dining chairs in any pictures and you are likely renting from this company.**

It would be difficult to know who is the ultimate landlord due to so many convoluted communications mediums. I purchased my stay at this condo via Expedia. I received a confirmation via VRBO for my rental. I received correspondence about how to get into the condo from Whost. I received the key code to collect the key from a kiosk via KeyCafe. And I was texted various codes for parking pass etc. I was messaging with the landlords via Guesty and via phone. It was not a guest friendly experience.

The whole place is furnished from Ikea. Nothing is comfortable. It is very sparse.
You get one towel per bed (maybe per guest?) and they are budget thin small bath towels. You get NO washcloths and you get one small thin hand towel per bathroom. And one extra roll of very cheap toilet paper under the sink in case you need it. No tissues to augment toilet paper.
You get NO dish towels to dry dishes or hands. You do get one roll of the cheapest paper towels possible in the kitchen for all your drying needs. No sponge or dish rag to wash dishes. If you have more than 4 people at the condo, bring disposable cutlery as only a set for four is in the drawer.
The building turns off the AC capability from 08 Oct to 08 May. I experienced the condo to be over 80 degrees. It made sleeping difficult. The landlords did bring box fans after I lodged a complaint.
The whole condo has never been refurbished, so it feels very run down and leftover from the 80's. After a day or two, it smelled stale.
The landlords offer you one key attached to one key fob for the front door. If you have a group that plans to separate for the day, this is highly inconvenient. You may want to know that there is a kiosk across the street at the 7-11 market that can copy keys and the concierge will always open the door if you wave your hands. It is also very easy to follow someone into the building as it is very busy during most hours.
If you plan to park a car, the directions about where to park are inadequate in the email. You will need to go past the G1 Green Floor, to the G2 Orange Floor. The directions are difficult to discern. Just before you are about to exit the Green Floor, and head out to the street again, you make a sharp right, there are no signs, and you will see a ramp down to the Orange Floor. The service people who answer the phone from Miami when you call for assistance will not know this, so if you bring a car, note this now. And the concierge said it was fine to park in the Orange area as long as you bring down the parking pass within the hour.
The directions to get to the front of the building do not align to Google or Apple maps due to new construction in the area. Miami phone support does not know this. Copy this down: Take Crystal Drive North, turn left (west) on 20th street S., turn left (south) on S. Bell, which will curve around. Take the first driveway to your left.
Finally, I requested a reduction in my rate due to lack of AC, and the service representative offered a refund of 15%. I followed up three times and was eventually ghosted.

For $100 per night per bed, with no ability to get a second key and such sparse towels and basic necessities, I will happily share my experience with fellow travelers. If you rent there now, you know what you will be getting. Bring your own towels and fans.

DON'T use We Host Group

Don't use We Host Group.

Endless cycle of limbo on " we don't have managers" or they didn't have the infrastructure to speak to anyone with abon-us phone number.

They offered 15% "refund" for one night, when I spent over 12 hours with a malfunction in the flat air system and it was genuinely warmer to sleep outside in late October.

They don't have a system to include any notes on communication and won't have the ability to call numbers on WhatsApp unless they ring your actual number which is a cost to us. I wish I saw these reviews before I book.

Left us stranded with no help and nowhere to stay

Showed up to our Airbnb that we had booked 7 months prior. Received a message the day before our reservation with the door code. We get there and type it in but there is someone else in the condo. We call the host and they keep putting us on hold and saying a whole bunch of nothing. We request for someone to come out and help us and they say they can’t. We are 4 young women stranded in the dark sitting on the curb trying to find a place to stay for the night. We didn’t even have a car because we flew in from out of state. The host was NO HELP at all and will not admit they accidentally double booked the condo. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE PEOPLE!

These people are scammers

These people are scammers and should be in jail. My daughter and 3 friends flew to Miami for the weekend and took an Uber to the condo they had reserved 7 months prior. The door code unlocked the door, but the condo was occupied. So here you have 4 young women stranded after dark 9 hours away from home with no where to go. This host did not even attempt to rectify the situation. They refused to send someone to the site to sort things out, then just stopped responding. Airbnb was no help either. All they did was issue a pending refund. THANK GOD the girls were able to find a hotel room on short notice in Miami!

Don't book with them

I gave this company a try. I had several issues from their cleaner making themselves come into the apartment when we checked in with a fob key that they shouldn't have had in the first place. We were in the room unpacking, luckily weren't naked or anything. But no apology either from her. Then we noticed the comforter was dirty with white stains all over. We told her the bed was dirty. She took off the comforter and threw it inside a locked storage room and left. All we had was a flat bed sheet. Then the main bathroom had a huge water leak that came out of the glass door when the shower head was turned on. Had to resort to the hand unit to shower. Then the 2nd bathroom started to leak water from the light on the roof, afraid we would get shocked if we turned on the light. The whole floor leaked of Marijuana. Then my last night there (Friday night) next door unit had a loud party with banging on the walls all night and people running through the hallways. To make matters worse, I had just gotten surgery and was trying to relax and recooperate during my stay there. I informed them and nothing was done. I was also promised to be compensated and was told management would be in contact with me. Obviously I was duped into waiting for the time frame to pass to leave a bad review, then after that passed, was denied any compensation and couldnt leave my honest review. I gave them benefit of the doubt. Bad company that takes advantage of people.

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs and absolutely no help from wee host. They offered unattainable suggestions and I noticed that they deleted all of my emails. This company is a joke. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. They do not care about their guests. The front desk was more helpful but the company itself is a ripoff we are seniors with disabilities on social security and this company just took our money and ruined a vacation we had been looking forward to.

Big mistake

I was dumb enough to book a place with these people; as soon as I booked the apartment, they started sending messages asking me to upload IDs of the guests, uploading my credit card information through a link. Of course they are cheaper than everybody else out there for a reason. After these messages, I googled them and faced the reality. Booking did not help unfortunately either by having those people on their platform.

Apartment short term rental. 46th floor 2/2 Condo At Icon Brickell With Pool

We never received the key fobs from the host management company ("We host") throughout our weekend stayed in this unit in Icon Brickell, so we couldn't even go to our apartment without showing our ID's and make the long lines at the front desk and explained to different people how the host (We host) didn't gave us what was state in the rental advertising though Vrbo. We couldn't use any of the amenities on site. On Saturday I finally contacted Vrbo and through three way call "We host" representative promise a solution but they lied, they didn't bring the key fobs or any solution for our problem. Our weekend vacation was ruined by this situation not just because of the non-use of the amenities or going to our own apartment freely but also for the long calls looking for a solution. They said they will try to make a refund, but they just offer 10% of the stayed per night price, not including fees. To put things in perspective if you do anything wrong in the reservation the starting fee is 50% of your night rate you have to payed for check in and the price increase to 15% if you check in after midnight also the parking on site is not included, so I totally disagree with 10%, and I think is not event close to solve the inconvenience or that this amount is going to be the solution for an awful weekend. For everyone thinking on rent this unit, you should know that without key fobs you can't do anything in Icon Brickell, not event go to your own apartment unit. Awful experience.

RUN IF YOU SEE WEHOST IN A LISTING

They demanded our photos of our IDs before check in even though we are verified through Airbnb and was not a state or building legal requirement. Then, we got a notice of a data breach and are having to now pay for ID theft monitoring out of pocket because of their carelessness. They told us “not to worry about it” as if it was not an huge issue that our SPI was not compromised. Their check in instructions said the parking was $20, was charged $30. The check in instructions said that we could request an early check in, they refused to accommodate when asking the day before even thought he unit still showed available because they wanted to accommodate a last minute guest. Instead I requested to change my reservation to include the day before to avoid needing an early check in that likely wouldn’t happen based on the experience I was having with customer service. It made the stay 195.37 cheaper through the booking site I am assuming because more days are a lesser rate. They denied the request I sent and they sent a new one for the same dates but 279 more saying they couldn’t refund us and we needed to pay more even though the system said we were owed money back. Upon check in the unit was 84 degrees and our AC never worked on which put us at risk for heat related health hazards. We notified the condo front desk and the host and neither fixed or compensated for the issue and we were not offered another unit even though they have many within the building. There was hair in the towels and in the shower and for 3 people we were only given one supposedly clean one for three people. No offer to clean the unit was made. The washer had an E6 error code that when trying to use would not work. So two amenities listed were broken. There was food in the sink drain and it smelt awful but again no offer to fix this issue was made. Finally the pictures were not like the unit and for example the paint on the doors were peeling and flaking off as if to indicate possible
Lead based which is toxic especially for an infant. I notified WeHost of everything and their only response was an apology, a discount on our next stay with them and a fifty dollar refund which did not even touch the 737 booking and 90 in parking we paid. And we would NEVER stay at ANY location they have. Per Airbnb support, I am entitled to a refund. AirCover is in place to protect guests and there was 2 areas which is unclean or unsanitary or hazardous conditions AND amenities not working such as major appliances and air conditioning, in which case within their guidelines stated that I should have a FULL refund. They are only offering a partial refund because we stayed however it was a big motorcycle event weekend and every location within a 10 minute commute was booked full so we had no other option. Air over guidelines do not state staying for the booking means less reimbursement and when I told them this they went silent and no refund was given. I called my credit card company and explained the host is denying a refund and Aircover clearly states my circumstances grant me a refund and they said to file a claim and they would get me my full refund. I have reported a BBB complaint, one star reviews on every site they are on, and disputed the transaction. If you see them as the host, do yourself a favor and RUN. I’ve seen reviews that have roaches, not working toilets and fridges and dirty dishes and floors. So I’m not the only one. But I hope I influence at least 1 of their potential stayers to go ANYWHERE else!

Real-life evidence of unethical practices

I have real-life evidence of unethical practices from WeHost. They canceled my reservation today. When using the 'Show Listing' option within the cancellation, I was able to choose the same period as my canceled reservation, and the price is $1,019.29. My canceled reservation was $644.94. Clearly, they canceled my reservation to make more money, and the 'maintenance' reason given for the cancellation was a big lie.

Roaches, Broken Toilet, No Towels, Construction Outside Our Window

Upon entering our apartment, we discovered the toilet was broken and there were only two towels for four people. In two days, we found 11 cockroaches! Outside our window, construction began at 6:30am every morning- workers were literally 30 feet from my window. Wrote several email, I sent pictures of all of this, I even cleaned the apartment before leaving and nothing was done to compensate us for dirty and noisy conditions while on vacation.

Unable to enter our stay

Reserved a stay through wehost, and when we showed up we were not able to get in. We contacted wehost and they were not able to help us get into our stay. We were told that a front desk staff would be present to let us in, but they were closed so we had no way to get in.

This is a scam company which took money and never paid back

This is a scam company working with Vrbo and Expedia. I paid $800+ for a 2-day Florida stay with an option of cancellation. While they canceled, they never refunded my money despite me spending 1 hour plus with Vrbo and despite false promises from WH via emails to return my money. Never again, and please do NOT book any WH or Vrbo linked properties on Expedia.
