I researched the market to find a suitable blood test with a wide range of result data points. Emerald came out as one of the best value and was also recommended by a friend who I respect as very analytical.

It’s important to read the preparation notes well before the test or it will impact your results. My local Holland & Barret was where I had to go for taking my blood.

The test results were returned after a few days, communication progress was very good.

The results were very comprehensive. I could download them to share with AI in order to create a plan.

After 6 months I decided to pay for the full test again (discounted) as the repeat test only covers 40 parameters and I wanted the whole range.

This has been a very interesting experience after 6 months of controlled diet, exercise and vitamins. I've managed to reduce LDL from over 5 to 3.4 by natural means and have now built a habit to continue further reductions. The Emerald blood test has definitely been in a catalyst for change, hopefully just in time, in order to delay/ minimise future heart disease.

How good is it to have a chat with a doctor that has all you blood panel results and heath markers...so a way more data driven experience than a visit to the local GP. I had Dr McNally who's helpfully walked me through the result to provide context and advise on actionable insights. He was open to running through the findings or being led by my concerns. Turned out he was a founder too so inherently interested in the experience being good. I should have done this before and will again.

Like most people, my experience of healthcare has been ten-minute appointments, being told “your results are normal,” and only ever being seen when something was already wrong. Nobody was looking at the full picture, and nothing was ever really explained.

The report was completely different. The blood panel picked up things I had never once been tested for in years of routine care including a serious vitamin deficiency that had clearly been missed for a long time, and a genetic heart-risk marker I didn't even know existed. Every result was explained in plain English: what it means, why it matters, and what we're doing about it. My Whoop data was reviewed alongside the bloods, so it felt like a full picture of me not just a snapshot on one day.

I'm now actually managing my health proactively with follow-ups, retesting and a doctor who knows my history. I've already recommended it to friends and family, and I'd recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

In the UK, healthcare generally works by: you don't know whats happening in the body, time passes, some symptoms rise, you get tests done, you get a shock, and then you work on correcting it.

I was one of Emerald’s first patients to undergo a programme of pre-operative preparation. The concept was explained to me as a regular consultation with one of the Emerald doctors in advance of a planned prostatectomy to help prepare my body for the surgery, and most importantly to minimise recovery time and optimise return to full health. The analogy used by my Emerald doctor was: “you can be reasonably fit and run a marathon. But recovery could take weeks after you finish because your body really hadn’t trained for a marathon. The same for a surgical procedure. Training in advance in a thoughtful way means recovery post-surgery is much quicker and less traumatic.” Made sense to me! So starting 8 weeks before my surgery date, we discussed a prep plan which covered general fitness, but also diet, sleep routines, and importantly what to expect directly after surgery and how to mentally prepare for recovery. Simple and time efficient reviews once a week with the Emerald Doctor, supplemented by direct data feedback from my wearables to the Emerald data base. Very motivating! The results? Well obviously I haven’t done the control of doing surgery without the Emerald pre-prep, but I left hospital after 3 nights after being cautioned by my surgeon I would be in hospital for 6-8 days (a real blessing getting home so much earlier!). The second day post-op the physio came in to help me get walking again. After a couple of minutes walking the corridors she asked me “do you work out a lot?” I mentioned my prep for the surgery and she said “well you don’t need my help, you’re more than capable of walking and managing the stairs!”. Two weeks and counting: back to work part time (weeks ahead of schedule) and healing steadily. A credit to Emerald’s pre-op preparation programme. I have been looking for support in measuring and analysing my biomarkers for a while.
I came across Emerald and reached out to them to ask some questions before signing up.
The communication was seamless, giving the bloods was all done at my convenience and once ready i booked a consultation, i also uploaded info from my wearable and old blood results. Dr Yiannis ran thru all my results and took the time to listen to my concerns and help me understand how my concerns can be tackled going forward. He also advised he would be available on demand for any other questions - my own Doctor at the end of my phone.
