Hi Craig,
We’re sorry to hear that you feel dissatisfied with your experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback.
To clarify the situation, your vehicle was initially brought to us with a knocking/rattling concern. During our inspection, multiple front suspension components including the lower control arms, inner tie rods, and track rod ends were found to have excessive wear and play. These parts required replacement regardless of the noise reported, and this was discussed and agreed with you prior to any work being carried out.
As is often the case with suspension-related faults, more than one worn component can contribute to similar symptoms. While the initial repairs addressed components that were genuinely worn and in need of replacement, the noise persisted due to an additional issue with the top mounts, which could not be conclusively identified without further investigation.
To resolve this as quickly and fairly as possible, we collected your vehicle, carried out further diagnostics, and replaced the top mounts free of charge including parts and labour. This successfully resolved the issue.
We understand your frustration, however the original work was not unnecessary it addressed worn and defective components identified during inspection and authorised by you before proceeding. We did also offer to return the defective replaced parts to you so you could get a second opinion to which you declined.
With regard to the Motor Ombudsman, while we are not currently subscribed to that scheme, we always aim to handle any concerns directly, fairly, and transparently as we have done in this case.
We remain confident that all work was carried out with reasonable care and skill, and that we acted in good faith throughout to resolve the issue without additional cost to you.
If you would still like to discuss this further, we are always happy to speak with you directly.
Kind regards,
Wight Tyres Ryde Ltd
