There isn't enough space to write about the great experience I had at the Indian Trail, NC location yesterday. Within 5m I knew I had find the right place. Jerry was such a pleasurable guy and explained every step of the process. From the vehicle condition to what certain codes meant, I appreciated his thoroughness in doing so. I also appreciated that Jerry is a Veteran of the Armed Forces as well as a retired Baltimore law enforcement officer. Integrity and credible were not an issue. The entire process was effective and efficient. With no other appointments behind me, I stayed for a little longer just to learn about Jerry's amazing experiences.
Jerry gave just a great experience, if I'm out that way for any reason, I'll stop in just to say hello and bring him his favorite Starbucks (Carmel Cappachino).

Jerry made the process easy to follow, and his personality was definitely a plus—he’s easy to connect with on a personal level. Because of that, my initial impression was a 5-star experience.
However, the overall process of selling a vehicle is ultimately one of negotiation and fees. For that reason, I would rate the full experience closer to a 3. I understand that nearly 100% of vehicles brought in will have repairs needed or flaws identified, and my older pickup truck was no exception. That said, the repair costs they assign are at the very highest end of typical dealer estimates.
This is clearly part of a system designed to reduce the initial online valuation. I understand WBAC is a business and needs to resell vehicles at a profit—but sellers should be aware of this going in.
Negotiating a lower price is expected; any private buyer would try to do the same. What caught me off guard, though, was the document/processing fee. It may be buried somewhere in the fine print online, but I missed it. This fee is supposedly for processing paperwork and completing the vehicle transfer—but isn’t that the core of their business? Charging the seller an additional (and not insignificant) fee to do so further reduces the final offer.
Be prepared for this, as it will lower what you ultimately receive for your vehicle.

I was disappointed that they changed their estimate so much lower after they looked at the car and I answered the estimate questions accurately. I would sell a junk car again to them, it certainly is convenient that they pick it up. I would not take any estimate as accurate until they come out however
