Worst company ever, iv only lived in my new build property for 6months and it’s under a 1 year warranty. My boiler has stopped working 6 times due to a radiator leak that was there before I moved in and can’t fix and they have now left me with no working boiler or hot water or heating despite having premature newborn twins in the property with additional needs. They have been to fix it numerous times with no issue but on 10/01/25 when it was -5 on Friday night, Customer service said they will come in the next 24 hours and the engineer will call me when he’s on his way.
The engineer called me and said he wouldn’t be paid so he will not come as no heating or hot water isn’t considered urgent. After I complained back to customer service about this, they decided that it was my responsibility to fix it.

After a year of paying First Port 'maintance' the adoptions team are still unable to get the basics right of what we are paying for. They manage First Port, but try to palm of answers and cannot even be bothered to check basics correctly. They are shameful.

I have been in communication with their customer service team at Vistry Southern and have been speaking to multiple customer service co-ordinators across the span of 1.5 years. We have lots of snags of things that aren’t working or are faulty that were reported within the 2 year window, however there are a number of things you apparently need to report within the first few weeks or months.
I wouldn’t say I wouldn’t buy again, but they wouldn’t be my first choice having now experienced their customer post completion.
They are only interested in you completing the surveys they are marked against, once this is done then they have what they need and are happy to ignore and forget about you.
Proceed with caution would be my advice.

Do not buy from Vistry!! I live in Whiteley area Southampton, I do not know a single person who is even remotely satisfied with their property, ours is quite simply a accident waiting to happen, we haven’t been able to use our front door since we moved in, due to a ridiculous sizing error which has affected the whole estate the politics between Vistry and Cura, who are another complete joke of a company has simply drained us, it’s been 16 months now and we have altogether given up,
I work in the construction industry myself so my understanding of how these things are dealt with is comprehensive, I can see the buck being passed about like a tennis match, and life is too short to suffer the stress this has caused us any longer, we have stopped chasing this vital safety repair, and instead started to focus our attention on informing everyone we can, about the terrible people and appalling treatment we have had at the hands of Vistry and Cura!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Would Never Buy again from Vistry!!
So many defects with the house we bought one year ago, they fail to accept responsibility for them and fail to get them resolved.
Customer Service is appalling.

I regret purchasing my home from Countryside (Vistry Group partnership). Initially, everything seems fine, but the problems start after you complete the purchase. The company shows little respect for their customers. I've faced numerous issues that should have been resolved before the handover.

Despite claiming to be customer-focused, they don't take you seriously. I've had a sub-floor issue since moving in, reported it early on, and a year later, it's still unresolved. Contractors inspect but blame each other, and no one takes accountability. They closed my case, claiming the floor was within tolerance, advising me to contact NHBC if dissatisfied. An independent survey confirmed the floor was not within tolerance and found other major non-compliances.

If you can't back out of your purchase, I strongly recommend an independent survey before moving in. I've been lied to and given empty promises. They handle identical issues for others but try to avoid fixing mine. I've had recurring drainage problems, initially dismissed as a one-off. They clear the blockages but deflect addressing the root cause.

If I could turn back time, I would not have bought from Countryside or any of the other Vistry Partnerships. Consider this a warning if you're thinking about purchasing from them.

Terrible experience and Vistry could not care less. Save yourself your sanity and do not buy a house from any of their subsidiaries!

Roads left unfinished for over a year now. Still waiting with no definite date for when they'll be completed.

Shoddy workmanship, extremely poor customer service. Would not recommend.

Left estate unfinished, did not even adapt roads.
Absolutely everything build in the cheapest way, not complying with building regulations.

Buy elsewhere!

When I embarked on my first house buying experience I was convinced buying a new build was the way to go, even when my brother-in-law advised against it. I just wanted a new home where everything was brand new and I knew I could go back to the developer with any issues.

So I found a property in Warwickshire under the Bovis/Vistry brand and secured a mortgage on a three-bedroom home. Boy do I regret my decision.

Despite the spindly two trees near the front that will take 40 years to grow, the estate isn't too bad and for the first six months everything seemed fine – until water started seeping through the upstairs ceiling. I contacted Vistry via email but received no reply. So I emailed again. Then I called and was told they'd send someone out who never replied. So I had to hire a roofer to look into it, first with a drone. A tile had come loose. He returned with a cherry picker to fix it but while up there noticed that many more tiles had come loose. I reported this to Visty but still no response.

Then my brother-in-law, a builder came for a visit and I told him the issue. He wasn't surprised, he said, because he'd been called out to several Vistry/Bovis homes with loads of issues. So I asked him to use his professional acumen and tell me if anything else was wrong with the house.

Where do I begin? The bath panel came away in his hands with ease as if it hadn't been fixed properly. Worse only three legs of the bath were supported. Then he looked at the piping and said it had been done by an idiot with a weird loop connection he couldn't get his head around. There was also a lot of building material lying around under the bath.

It got worse when he went outside with his laser machine only to discover that the righthand outside wall was two inches out of true from top to bottom. In all he spotted about 10 defects in the build, including loose guttering, badly rendered joins, a large gap in a floorboard in the under stairs cupboard and evidence of mice or rats in the area under the gap.

Since then, I've had a water leak under the floorboards, umpteen issues with the power suddenly tripping and more tiles coming loose.

This company is an utter sham – a bunch of cowboys who are all nicey nice during the buying process but then nothing, no response, when you need them.

I urge you to avoid anything built by Vistry and its other hell-hole companies, Bovis and Linden because once you're in, the problems start and you're left with sorting out everything yourself.

I should have gone to Rightmove and bought an established home like most sane people instead of being conned into thinking that new is best. Believe me, it isn't.

I even tried emailing the CEO Greg Fitzgerrald and again got zero response. So this shithole is now back on the market. Can't wait to get out and buy a proper home. You live and learn.

From paying our initial holding fee for a new house with Countryside Properties at Brookfield Vale in Blackburn, to moving in on the promised date, our experience has been wonderful.
Michelle in the Sales Office went above and beyond attending to every enquiry. Phil and Paul, the site managers were great. Always polite and attentive, the site is immaculate and any snagging has been attended to quickly, efficiently and to an excellent standard.
The planting in the development is generous and interesting and the on site health and safety is exemplary.
We love our new home and thoroughly recommend this company to anyone wishing to buy a new home

I was recruited as an experienced TF manager in their timber frame factory in Bardon, Leicester. I was constantly undermined and belittled by my line manager. Subsequently discovered him bellowing at workers using obscene language and telling them they want sacking. Wasn’t the only outburst. Moral is low. His skills as a manager are that of a poor performing team leader. He’s no manager. Real anger issues on shop floor. He blames others for the poor production levels and convinces higher management that it is the poor performance of employees. What a vile person. And in total contradiction to Vistry values that claims bullying does not happen. It does. He is. Don’t work at VWEM (Vistry works East Midlands)

I would give Countryside zero stars if I could! Buying a house from them has been nothing short of a living nightmare. Our home has become overrun with mice, and we're not the only ones suffering – our neighbours at 10B and 10D are dealing with the same horrific problem. It's clear that Countryside is selling shoddy, poorly built homes that are infested from the start.

The level of infestation is disgusting. We've found mice droppings all over the house, to the point where my baby almost ate some. The health and safety of my family have been completely jeopardised, and Countryside couldn't care less. The thought of my children being exposed to this filth is sickening, and the company has done absolutely nothing to fix it. They are endangering our lives and our children's lives!

This company is a complete scam – they take your money, sell you a substandard, dangerous property, and leave you to deal with the consequences. It's disgraceful! If you're considering buying from Countryside, RUN! They're more interested in profit than delivering a safe, livable home. We are already in discussions with other affected neighbours about taking legal action, and I will make sure to spread the word on every platform possible about how truly terrible Countryside is.

Avoid Countryside at all costs unless you want to be living in a rodent-infested death trap! They are incompetent, negligent, and have sold us nothing but misery. Absolutely DISGUSTING company!

Cowboys aswell as Linden Homes. They do not know how to build homes and are happy to sweep their problems under your carpet. They fob off their mistakes and you have to deal with it. If you buy a leasehold they leave you with Firstport who are complete Pirates.

This review doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Appalling company which owns Linden and Bovis. No customer service at all. Passed from person to person to sort small issues out. Snag after snag not getting done. Refusing to pay back money for additional items (outside of mortgage) that were fitted to a very poor standard. Property covered in black mould only weeks after moving in. Cracks appearing on every wall. Does not carry out fire risk assessments for blocks of flats. Does not put in place insurance as agreed under the lease agreement. Stay clear. Take your money elsewhere

Iv already written a review of my Vistry homes experience.
However. I wanted now to offer some advise for anyone unfortunate enough to have already purchased a home from Vistry. Especially if it was within the last two years.
I quickly realised that every-time I spoke to Vistry about a snagging issue. They “repeated”said:
“Don’t worry, you have two years to list issues on the snagging site” which always made me feel like everything would be ok.
However. At the end of those two years. When nothing was repaired. In order to make a LABC warranty claim. I was having to go back two years to find evidence/remember who I spoke to/ what was promised and by whom. AND gather all that together.
For every single one of my two hundred issues. It was a nightmare. !!!!
So my NUMBER ONE PEICE OF ADVISE IS: put your issue on to the snagging site. Do not wait two years to take it further. AS SOON AS YOU THINK A REASONABLE TIME HAS PASSED. OPEN UP A WARRANTY CLAIM WITH YOUR LABC WARRANTY COMPANY.
For example. If you find an issue and put it on the snagging site in January. Then chase it a couple of times with the builder, and when two or three months has gone past with nothing happening.
Don’t waste your time and effort.
GO STRAIGHT to the warranty and start a complaint. Make sure you
Have a screen shot of when you first let the builder know that there was an issue, and that’s pretty much all the warranty needs to go ahead and chase the builders, on your behalf.
If you do this with every single snagging issue. AS AND WHEN IT SURFACES.
You will find that unlike so many people who are left trying to do masses of paperwork at the end of the two years. Which can leave you overwhelmed and struggling for time.
DO EACH ISSUE AS IT ARRIVES.
furthermore. Take as many pictures as you can.
Screen shot your snagging site entries, emails and texts and even follow up telephone calls with the developer with a email to reiterate your telephone conversation. And ALWAYS DATE ANYTHING YOU SEND OR RECEIVE. INCLUDING THE YEAR.
As this goes on for years.
FINALLY;
If you have lost my paperwork, or simply didn’t keep it.
You are completely within your rights to ask for a “Freedom of information request from the builder”
Which basically means that EVERYTHING THEY HAVE REGARDING YOU AND YOUR HOME, THEY ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO SEND YOU.
At no cost to yourself.

I have about 80% of my snagging issues resolved and I won’t stop until I get it all done.
I PAID for a new home and that is what I’m entitled to.
FAILING ALL THIS. GO TO THE OMBUDSMAN.
It’s really not as complicated as most people think.
Don’t let them grind you down!
They’re relying on people just giving up.
If I had know then what I know now (all of the above) my process would have been much easier.
If I had stopped arguing and pleading with Vistry for month after month after year to come out and do repairs. If I had stopped listening to their promises and actually believed they were going to repair my home. Which all turned out to be absolutely untrue. I could have saved myself so much stress, time and worry. I say again;-

LIST YOUR ISSUE ON THE SITE.
CHASE IT ON THE SITE TWICE.
AFTER THREE MONTHS OPEN UP A WARRANTY CLAIM.
DONT LISTEN TO THEIR PROMISES. ACTION IS THE ONLY THING THAT COUNTS.
DON’T WAIT TWO YEARS. !!!

Focused engagement with local communities - what a joke. We, the residents of Glen Parva has asked for your attention to our concerns over the last few months whilst you construct a site of 165 homes on a previous landfill site. We have repeatedly asked for analysis of the dust that coats our homes, our cars and our children's lungs ! we want to know what is in it because we know what is in the ground below your site and what is being released into the air because of the work you are currently undertaking. Why won't you meet with us to discuss these concerns - where is your promised 'focused engagement with local communities' ? What an absolute shower of reckless constructors you are; and judging by the reviews on here, there won't be any aftercare for the poor souls that buy these properties, once ready for sale...

Absolutely shocking - DO NOT BUY THEM

The sale process is manifestly stacked all in their favour that expose the buyer to unfair and significant risks. They are steadfast in refusing to budge during reasonable negotiations and are alarmingly intent on pushing the buyer hard and fast into legal obligations which may go significantly adversely financially against the buyer. Yet they demand significant flexibility too from the buyer in protecting their risks. Frankly, they can keep their houses.
