I contacted VFS Hounslow for the purpose of obtaining a PCC. The application form asked for a copy of the Indian visa in my passport. Considering my trip to India was almost 30 years ago, the passport containing that visa is long gone.
I phoned VFS on numerous occasions to try and find out how to deal with this question.
The help line's automatic answering service just kept repeating —' We are unable to take your call', even though I always phoned during office hours.
I then wrote numerous emails. The initial automatic and human responses told me to phone the same number that never worked.
Eventually, after many more emails, I managed to get someone to call me. They told me to contact the High Commission directly. The High Commission, in response, told me to go back to VFS!
After more emails and eventually managing to get through on the phone once the system was operational, I spoke with someone who stated — I just needed to book an appointment, they would sort out how to deal with the lack of the old visa on the day.
I made an appointment. My number was ready 30 minutes after my appointment time, the lady behind the counter informed me that I needed to speak to the manager.
The manager then, matter-of-factly, said," How can we make the application if you don't have an old visa?
He seemed unconcerned that I had been told by VFS to make the appointment, even though they knew I didn't have my old visa. My journey entailed driving for over 2 hours.
Why couldn't anybody have told me 4 months ago (the time from my initial email to my appointment !)
That it is impossible to proceed without the old visa is beyond me.
All I wanted was to talk with someone about one question. I dread to think how much time and money I have spent on trying to get one question answered over the last 4 months.

For the purpose of adoption, I've had to obtain 6 PCC's. None of the other countries requested a visa. My passport number was sufficient.

The responses to my emails and calls were always polite and warm, but it seems the staff were just relaying the same information they were trained on. Surely, it should have been possible to have been connected to someone who could answer the question they couldn't 4 months ago.
Please, VFS. If the reception staff can't answer a question, put a system in place where the question is redirected to someone who can.
The only reason I'm awarding two stars instead of one, is because the majority of the staff I dealt with were warm, friendly and polite.

You will likely get a sense of the bureaucratic and rigid service culture at VFS Global. Applications may be refused or returned for minor or unclear reasons, which can be frustrating for applicants who have carefully prepared their documents. In some cases, the explanations provided for rejection appear overly technical or unnecessarily strict.
In addition, the customer service experience can be disappointing. Some staff interactions may come across as abrupt or unhelpful, and applicants often feel that there is little effort made to guide them through the process or clarify requirements. For a service operating in Chicago, where many applicants expect professionalism and customer-oriented support, the experience can feel particularly discouraging.
Overall, the process can seem unnecessarily complicated and lacking in transparency. Applicants would benefit greatly from clearer communication, more consistent guidance, and a more supportive approach from staff when addressing documentation issues.

I have been trying for months now to renew my South African passport from Sydney but there are just no booking dates available ever. It's excruciatingly frustrating. It's almost like this service does not exist.

Agent Julie Dais handled my appoint for minor oci. Agent was very kind and polite. And advised me very well on the process.

All I can say is to stay away from this service. Navigating seems easy until your documents are kicked back to you after being excepted. The only way to get you money back is to call your credit card bank. This is the worst experience you will ever have getting a visa.

VFS global Edison NJ was a great experience. Rushal the staff employee was outstanding!
He helped with uploading the pictures/ signature/ documents which was very challenging for me.
Mitu and Sona other employees were very kind too. Amazing experience 5stars overall.

Staff at VFS London were very helpful, kind and patient. Especially Simar who helps with South African passport applications.

The apps and website experience are ridiculously bad, with constant errors such as account lockouts, session expirations, and “invalid session” messages. Even basic elements of the website contain spelling mistakes, which does not inspire confidence in a service responsible for handling something as important as visa applications.

Applying for a visa is already stressful and time-sensitive, yet the poor functionality of the platform makes the process far more frustrating than it needs to be. Users should not have to repeatedly restart applications or struggle just to access their account.

For a company contracted to manage visa services globally, the digital infrastructure should be reliable, intuitive, and professionally maintained. Unfortunately, the current system falls far short of that standard.

It may be time for governments to reconsider whether this service provider is the right choice for managing such critical processes.

Today I visited VFS Global Edison New Jersey for Renunciation of Indian Passport. I had an error in Application . Instead of sending me back the staff help me to re do and re submit the whole application. All staffs are very helpful and very friendly. I am so please and impressed with VFS Edison New Jersey

This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had with a company.

For nearly two weeks, we’ve been stuck going back and forth with no clear progress. I’m trying to obtain a visa for my son to travel to Brazil (I’m Brazilian and American), and we keep being asked to resubmit the same documents repeatedly, despite already providing them.

The process feels disorganized and unnecessarily complicated, with poor communication and no clear resolution timeline. It’s disappointing that such an important service is handled this way, especially when families are relying on it for time-sensitive travel plans.

I strongly believe the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs should reconsider working with a provider that delivers this level of service.

It’s been so many years that a lot of people are complaining about your appointment booking system and you don’t do anything about it. Hire someone who can fix that because obviously, you can’t. Very inefficient.

The date of experience should be a range, from January '26 to March.
This site is so buggy as to be near useless, and with a monopoly on visa appointments, I have to wonder what legitimate way this could have come to pass.
My wife and I have made multiple attempts every day to arrange an appointment for a visa, with numerous occasions where service was inexplicably denied.
Given our experience with service contacts with VFS Global, we are uncertain that they are even interfacing with the relevant Embassy.
Technical issues are NOT addressed, and I have concerns about how this monopoly came to pass.
Zero stars would be more appropriate. This site is a complete waste of time.

Do not use this company:
- They do not ask when your travel is so there is no prioritizing going on.
- The only way to communicate is via a no response email box. So zero ability to communicate with them if you need to.
- Phone numbers on emails you receive are not real. Go to a dead line.
- They force you to submit a low quality photo and then reject your application because the photo is not good enough.
- Their "Support" group for the USA is in Australia???

VFS GLOBAL HAS A LOW CLASS WEBSITE. ITS NOT USER FRIENDLY AT ALL. Oh God please take them out of the visa processing.

I went to VFS Global to have my contract verification and encountered a problem that I thought couldn’t be resolved. Thanks to the amazing assistance of Ma’am Rhoda, Ma’am Hannamae, Ma’am Nadine, and Kuya James, my issue was fully resolved. They were patient, kind, and didn’t give up until everything was fixed.

I’m also very grateful to the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) for considering my case. Because of their help, I can finally go home for vacation. Truly thankful! 🙏

I was on the phone on the 25th feb to a male staff at around 4:40pm and I was having troubles trying to sign up so that I can book an appointment. As soon as I mentioned about having trouble signing up/booking an appointment he pretended he couldn't hear me and put the phone down. I then called back and when he heard my voice, he proceeded to pretend he couldn't hear me and said something along the lines of "since there is no response from your end I will have to put the phone down" multiple times. He also did this on the first phone call. The lack of care, staff incompetence is disgusting from vfs especially when people need assistance in the visa process to enter Italy. How is this place still running? Who runs this place and why is its staff the way they are? I also tried to apply for a tourist visa so I could travel to Italy 2 years ago but that wasn't easy either due to poor communication, website issues, etc and I lost out on money. There needs to be another service who can assist people so they can travel to Italy, at the moment it's just completely impossible to travel to Italy!!

Service is poor with people yelling on the phone. Our visa renewal was a pain with too many back and forth. They charge you for hidden things. They reject packages we spend them and have the audacity to resend a new package paying for it. Worst of the worst experience.

Could only log into the website after 10 attempts. could not input my email even on the website. website freezes does not accept PASSWORDS website does not even accept email and name or complaint input. This is a complete joke.

The worst web service I’ve ever used. I went through weeks of stress just trying to book an appointment. Constant account restrictions, random blocks for no reason, and overall a terrible experience. I’m not joking. It was truly awful.
