Ich bin extrem enttäuscht vom MSI-Kundenservice. Ich habe meinen Monitor zur Garantiereparatur eingesendet, da ich noch über 1,5 Jahre Restgarantie habe. Das Gerät hatte technische Pixelfehler (rote Pixel), die meine Arbeit als Fotograf unmöglich machen.
Anstatt den Fehler im Rahmen der Garantie zu beheben, erhielt ich eine unverschämte E-Mail. MSI behauptete, es gäbe mechanische Beschädigungen (minimale Kratzer am Gehäuse), die angeblich die Garantie komplett erlöschen lassen. Sie forderten mich auf, über 720 € für eine Reparatur zu zahlen – das ist fast der Neupreis des Gerätes!
Besonders schockierend war der Tonfall: Mir wurde gedroht, das Gerät entweder kostenpflichtig zu reparieren, es unrepariert zurückzuschicken oder es 'umweltfreundlich zu entsorgen' (zu verschrotten), falls ich nicht zahle. So geht man nicht mit Kunden um!
Ich rate jedem dringend davon ab, MSI-Produkte zu kaufen, wenn man auf einen seriösen Garantieservice angewiesen ist. Nie wieder MSI!

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND OVERHEATING ISSUES

I was given a MSI Raider GE68HX with a RTX 4090 in it because MSI lost my previous generation Raider when I had sent it in for RMA support (BIOS issue). The new Raider seemed great, till it started overheating. It's hard to find a Raider GE68HX with a 4090 in it specifically because the chassis will overheat. I have done everything I can, limited CPU and GPU power, max fans, laptop cooling pad/stand, etc. It still overheats. MSI refuses to do anything about it, they essentially stole my good working laptop, replaced it with an "upgrade" that overheats playing the Sims when it should run Cyberpunk perfectly fine.

I used to love MSI, their laptops can work great, mine does not. This review is primarily about their customer support. Good luck if you spend your money with them, I will no longer be patronizing MSI.

I maintain that is is not just a service related issue as MSI is the one who made a product that cannot cool itself sufficiently. Therefore the product is also the issue.

Do not get a raider with anything above a 4080 in it. I recommend staying away from MSI entirely until they get both their customer service and cooling issues under control.

My second MSI laptop

I purchased my first MSI laptop, a GT60, nearly eight years ago. Despite outdated driver support, it was a reliable machine that I used until last year, when I donated it and upgraded to the Katana A15 B8V — trusting that MSI had only gotten better.

Unfortunately, the opposite is true.

I'm a civil engineer and senior data engineer. I use this laptop exclusively for professional work — no gaming. Yet the experience has been unacceptable: near-daily disruptive updates, frequent Explorer crashes, recurring driver problems, and a keyboard backlight failure that took almost two weeks to resolve. I'm an advanced user and I shouldn't have to fight my own machine this often.

I deeply regret this purchase. I no longer recommend MSI to anyone, and if returns were possible, I would not think twice.

You had a loyal customer for almost a decade. This experience has ended that.

I should have read these reviews before purchasing my MSI computer. Within 2 months of purchase I had to upgrade my BIOS and got ZERO assistance or explanation from tech support. Now at a little over a year with my MSI PC, I have to upgrade my BIOS again. I have never had a computer where I had to do anything with the BIOS. And where is tech support with anything other than a "I'm smart and you're dumb" attitude. Never again....

Horrendous laptops

I had an old I7 HP spectre but it wasn't good enough for photo editing, so I upgraded to an I9 MSI laptop 2 months ago. I have never been so dissapointed with a laptop in my life. It is slow, and clumsy. Even playing you tube videos is jerky. The solution apparantly is to SLOW down the computer to play them?!?!? Eh! But sometimes that doesn't work either. It is no good for photo editing, takes too long. Windows updates take forever, and updating the MSI software is an arduous process. You can't even update intel's software to the latest level, which prevents you from playing some games, until MSI has allowed it. I treid playing COD warzone and it failed amssively, this is an I9 32GB laptop.....surely that should be OK. Anyway, it will be the last MSI I buy, I advise to look elsewhere.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. They never answer the phone, don't return messages, and their live chat has disappeared.

I had pre-sales questions.

I finally emailed, was told they have nothing to do with that department and just ignored me when I asked if they were going to file a complaint.

When I tried to pay for their video card, they declined my payment twice even with my bank asking for a PIN that I entered in twice.

Then they said I must have done something wrong (no I didn't) or their fraud picked something up and I should try to use evil Pay Pal. I said I'm NOT using them. I use credit cards.

I explained I was in Mexico and my address and everything is in the US, but that shouldn't matter, I purchase online alot and have for decades.

I asked if they were going to push through the sale or relax their fraud for my purchase and they ignored me.

I wasted days of my life with this company AND I have their MB which I purchased around 1 1/2 years ago. After reading other reviews, I'm wondering if my computer issues aren't because of Windows, but because of them.

My website coder chose this MB, I didn't even know who they were before buying it.

Outraged with MSI's "fake" HDMI 2.1 specifications

I am writing this to highlight a very frustrating marketing tactic used by MSI regarding the Pulse GL66 (11UGKV). While the official specifications list an HDMI 2.1 port, the reality is far from what a consumer expects from this standard.

The HDMI port on this machine is a perfect example of "name-only" rebranding. Although it is labeled as 2.1, it lacks the most critical features of the actual standard:

No VRR/G-Sync Support: It does not support Variable Refresh Rate, making it impossible to use G-Sync on external monitors through HDMI.

Limited Bandwidth: The port is capped at 18Gbps, which is exactly the specification of the old HDMI 2.0.

Misleading Marketing: MSI chose to use the HDMI 2.1 label by only supporting minor features (like ALLM), while omitting the high-bandwidth and sync features that gamers and power users actually need.

It is disappointing to see a reputable brand use legal loopholes to rebadge old technology as new. Even though this model is no longer the latest on the market, this experience has seriously damaged my trust in how MSI reports its hardware specs.

Consumers deserve transparency, not technicalities used to hide outdated ports.

Absolutely terrible return process.

5th or 6th time ordering from them and I'll never do it again.

Ordered an OLED monitor during black Friday sales for nearly $200 off MSRP. Shipping was about 1.5 weeks. Delivered broken, of course it was FedEx who delivered it (and likely broke it). Initiated a return the next day from MSI. They proceeded to wait 1 week to get back to me regarding the return, in which case they asked for photos. I provided. Another week goes by and nothing. I call them and am told someone will call me that night. I did not get a call. 2 more days go by, I call again. Same thing. I finally receive a call and they tell me they're working on it and all they can do is wait because they have to file a damage claim through FedEx (why would I, the customer, have to endure this waiting period?) I then get another email where they again ask for the SAME photos they asked of me before. I provide. Another week goes by (3.5 weeks since spending my money on this monitor). Still nothing... I call them and they say they will fast-track the return. I receieve a return label 2 days after, in which I promptly mail it out the next day. I ask the support team if I am able to get a replacement and they stated they cannot give me a replacement and cannot offer me the same monitor at the same discount I bought it at before, only a refund.

I will NOT be ordering from this site again. If you are reading this, do not be tempted by the low prices. MSI makes good products, but buy from an authorized retailer instead (BestBuy, Newegg, MicroCenter etc).

I have had a Creator laptop for ~ 5yrs

I have had a Creator laptop for ~ 5yrs. I broke a hinge rendering it somewhat useless, and upon calling MSI and receiving an RMA I sent the unit in for an evaluation. The same day apparently that they received it, it was repaired no charge and returned to me with 2 day shipping. Stellar customer service.

Very disappointing warranty experience with MSI Australia.

I purchased an MSI motherboard from Amazon Australia, well within the warranty period. MSI later refused to replace the product, claiming it was sourced from Amazon USA. As an Australian consumer, I cannot purchase from Amazon USA, and this was never mentioned when I provided the serial number and model during the support process. Had MSI disclosed this earlier, I would have avoided unnecessary shipping costs.

Despite the product being under warranty, MSI Australia failed to honour a replacement. This appears inconsistent with Australian Consumer Law requirements regarding consumer guarantees and reasonable remedies.

Unfortunately, this is not my first negative experience with MSI. Previously, I returned an MSI liquid cooler and never received a replacement or the returned item. During that process, there were clear disputes between the retailer and MSI’s RMA team, resulting in delays and no proper resolution.

Overall, MSI Australia’s customer service and warranty handling have been extremely poor, causing both financial loss and inconvenience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend MSI products or support in Australia.

MSI refused to stand behind a known failing product — worst support experience I’ve had in 20 years of PC building.

I purchased an MSI X570 Unify motherboard approximately four and a half years ago. Less than three years into ownership, I began experiencing intermittent failures where the system would not POST.
Because the issue was intermittent, when I contacted MSI support, I was repeatedly encouraged to keep the motherboard, update the BIOS, and continue using it rather than initiate an RMA. Over the next two years, the issue continued in exactly that pattern: long periods of normal behavior followed by sudden no-POST failures.
Eventually, the problem became disruptive enough that I began leaving my computer running 24/7 simply to avoid triggering another failed boot at an inconvenient time. That is obviously not a reasonable workaround for a premium motherboard.
Now the system no longer POSTs at all.
When I contacted MSI again, I was told:
They have no record of my prior support contacts,
They are unwilling to RMA the board,
They are unwilling to repair it, and
They are unwilling to even offer a paid repair option.
In other words: after years of documented product instability and multiple support interactions (that MSI themselves advised me to treat as “monitor and continue”), MSI’s position is now simply that they will do nothing.
For context: I have been building high-end PCs since 2006, and over nearly two decades I have used hardware from ASUS, Gigabyte, and others — often for 5–8+ years per component — and I have never had a manufacturer both:
Allow a product to fail slowly over time while deferring action, and
Then refuse any form of support once the failure becomes permanent.
I am now replacing this board with a Gigabyte Aorus X870E for a new Ryzen 9800X3D build — not because I wanted to, but because MSI has made it clear they will not stand behind their products once a failure becomes inconvenient for them.
This has been the worst customer support and warranty experience I’ve had with any hardware manufacturer, and I do not recommend MSI products to anyone who values reliability, accountability, or long-term support.

MSI Gaming Laptops: A dangerous engineering failure. Avoid at all costs!

After 4 years of usage, i can confidently say that buying an Msi gaming laptop was my biggest technological mistake.
I bought the Msi GL65 Leopard with Intel Core i7-10750H and Nvidia rtx 2070 super for $1800 but despite the high-end specs on paper, the real-world experience was a constant nightmare of heat, noise, and electrical hazards.

1. Pathetic Performance & Thermal Throttling: The cooling system is a total disaster. Despite maintenance, the laptop consistently reaches 96°C. The fans are so loud that they drown out the game audio, making headphones a must.
I experienced frequent stuttering and drops to 15 FPS even on light titles like Super Mario Wonder an insult for a machine in this price range.
Even with simple games like New Super Mario Bros U, temperatures stayed at a constant 65°C for no reason.
It struggled to hit 60 FPS in a simple language selection menu of an emulated game (Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled) in fact it reaches 45 FPS with fans start screaming.

2. The "Airlines" Noise Effect: The fan curves are hysterical: they ramp up to maximum speed even while just watching YouTube, sounding like a jet engine taking off. Playing AAA titles is theoretically possible but requires massive graphical compromises, unstable fps and unbearable noise levels.

3. Electrical Hazard & Poor Build Quality: This is the most critical part. The original power brick started producing dangerous sparks when plugged in. The connector pins eventually chipped and burned due to extreme heat and the charger overheated a lot when idle on the desktop with a burning smell. This is a legitimate fire hazard that no consumer should ever face.

4. The Myth of Portability: It's not portable. Between the weight of the case and the huge power supply, moving it around is torture. Plus, without being plugged in, performance plummets and the battery life is very short. It's a device that tries to do everything and fails at everything.

5. Conclusion: I finally replaced this disaster with a custom built Desktop PC. I went from the MSI’s constant 96°C to 55°C-60°C on my desktop, with absolute silence and optimal performance on games. If you value reliability and safety, stay away from MSI gaming laptops. They are nothing more than overpriced, loud space heaters.

I sent my MSI Cyborg 15 A12V to MSI…

I sent my MSI Cyborg 15 A12V to MSI warranty service because the laptop would not power on. The repair was handled by ENAME (Portugal) and the repair report states that the motherboard was replaced. The device came back with new warranty seals and new screws, so it was clearly opened and worked on.

When I received the laptop, it did not power on at all.
No reaction from the power button, no screen activity.

At first, I assumed the battery might be empty, so I connected the original MSI charger. The charging LED turned on, but pressing the power button still did nothing. I then tested with a second compatible charger, with exactly the same result.

After a short while, I reconnected the charger again to record a video for MSI support, and at that point even the charging LED stopped turning on. The laptop is now completely dead, exactly like before the repair (or worse).

There was no damage to the box or packaging, and the laptop arrived in perfect cosmetic condition. This rules out transport damage. I also did not open or modify the device in any way after receiving it.

What I cannot understand is how a laptop can remain totally inoperative after a full motherboard replacement, especially when the power delivery, charging circuit and power button logic are all part of the motherboard. From a technical point of view, this makes no sense unless the replacement board is defective or the repair was not successful.

At this point, this is clearly a failed repair after a major component replacement, and I am requesting a full replacement of the device, not another experimental repair attempt.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situation with MSI RMA after a motherboard replacement?
