Uptime Robot provides us with a service that gives us timely alerts and enough information to quickly rectify problems. We heavily rely on the Slack integration as it means we have a central place to receive all of our alerts

By placing all of your sites that site on a server on UR, it also helps you determine if you have a server issue or a site issue. I highly recommend UptimeRobot.

This is a great service that allows you to monitor not only the uptime on your site but a number of different things live expiring SSL certs. We also use this as way to gather uptime stats for stakeholders.
