Excellent telescopes and customer service

Unistellar customer service has been simply outstanding. In particular, Anna has been very patient and kind when assisting with an issue with my scope. Furthermore, Unistellar telescopes are the best in the planet.

My telescope tipped over!

My telescope tipped over after one tripod leg collapsed and I stared with horror as my telescope hit the floor and the casing cracked. My telescope would not turn on. I assumed the worst and contacted customer support. Feeling that I had nothing to lose, I opened the case and discovered a steel harness holding all the computer components! I reseated what I could, then taped the casing which was cracked, put it back together and turned it on. It worked! It could be collimated and focused! I am so happy with my eVscope eQuinox and it's design. I have had it for 3 years now and am very very satisfied.

Great product and even greater support!

Great product and even greater support!

I use my Unistellar telescope as part of a stargazing experience, people love to see the mesmerizing pictures that it takes and It help us to explain the wonders of the universe in a way that was impossible few years ago.

J’ai rencontré un problème avec la batterie

J’ai rencontré un problème avec la batterie de mon eVscope, problème dû à la non utilisation du télescope pendant un certain temps. J’ai compris que ces batteries Li-ion se désactivaient toutes seules dans ce genre de situation et j’ai pu voir moi-même que c’était vrai.
J’ai ainsi contacté le service d’assistance d’Unistellar et j’ai été agréablement impressionné par la réactivité de leur réponse et des échanges. J’ai pu remettre les batteries en marche après avoir suivi la procédure qu’ils m’ont suggérée. Ils m’ont fourni également un devis très rapidement (assez cher mais en l’absence de solution, j’ai quand même été content de savoir que j’avais une solution si jamais la réactivation de la batterie ne marchait pas).

Great Customer Service

Great Customer Service
Anna was outstanding with not only helping me diagnose the issue with my telescope, but was great on continued follow-up. She kept in touch, making sure I had received my parts quote, letting me know when it would arrive, making sure everything worked, etc. - all without being prompted. She was great helping resolve my issue. Thank you!!

Stopped Orientation

My Odyssey scope stopped tracking and couldn't complete orientation. After a few back and forth emails, I was asked to send the scope for repair. It was returned in a few weeks and is now working. Overall, the experience was great and hassle free. I wish the response is a little faster though. Every time I emailed, I had to wait for more than a few days to get a response, and so it took almost two months to figure out what happened and get it fixed. But I am happy it is working again. Thank you for a great scope and service.

I had several problems requiring component exchange and, mostly, just good advice and guidance. She was professional, patient, and very clear regarding her advice. She solved all of my problems and I am a happy Unistellar customer.

Jumelles Envision

Inscrit dés le 30-05-2024 à la campagne Crowdfunding lancée par Unistellar pour ses nouvelles jumelles Envision, j'ai eu la très mauvaise surprise de constater que le prix de départ annoncé à $599 était passé à $699 aujourd'hui, 1er jour où l'on pouvait confirmer son souhait de participer! A $599 j'étais partant, mais pas à $699 ... Tous les clients ne sont pas des pigeons ! C'est vraiment très dommage, d'autant plus que j'avais participé à la campagne identique pour le telescope eVscope en 2021. Puis plus récemment à celle concernant le filtre solaire. Sans mauvaise surprise à la clef ces fois-là. La fidélité n'est visiblement pas un critère de choix chez Unistellar.

Nous sommes navrés de lire votre frustration. Nous vous rassurons, nous avons mis en place une page web mi-mai pour que les personnes intéressées puissent s'inscrire et être informées en exclusivité. Nous avons également envoyé à ces inscrits plusieurs mails de communication la veille de l'évènement (au moins 3). Il y a eu aussi des posts sur les réseaux sociaux à -1h, -15min et dans l'heure qui suivait le début du lancement.

La campagne a été officiellement lancée le 25 juin à 16h (heure de Paris) et les contributions "very early bird" à $599 sont parties en moins d'une heure et demi.

Merci beaucoup pour votre fidélité, nous tenons à préciser que cette campagne est indépendante de vos achats dans le passé, en boutique, en ligne ou lors des projets de financement participatif terminés. En effet, il y en a eu en 2017, 2018 ou 2019 - mais aucune campagne n'a été ouverte en 2021. Nous comprenons votre déception, toutefois, nous n'avons pas la main sur le déroulement de la prévente - premier arrivé, premier servi - c'est le principe de la plateforme Kickstarter.

Il reste encore la possibilité de réserver vos jumelles à $699, ce qui représente -42% sur le prix de détail suggéré par le fabricant. Nous vous remercions pour vos patience et bienveillance.

Le télescope ne marchait pas au démarrage

Le télescope ne marchait pas. Il me mettait orientation au cours au démarrage et ça durait une éternité. Il ne passait jamais en orientation Ready.
Heureusement le support m a répondu en 3 jours pour modifier le parametrage du GPS et ça semble marcher désormais !
Bonne réactivité

Excellent support from Unistellar

Let my battery run down and could not recharge it. The Unistellar support team offered to replace the battery even though it was my misunderstanding of how to manage the battery and keep it healthy. Really appreciated the fast response, frequent updates and quick willingness to step in and send a replacement battery. Excellent support from the Unistellar team.

Excellent Support

I had a minor glitch getting my iPhone to connect and “talk” to the Odyssey Pro. After contacting customer support, Anna was right there. Issue resolved. A few days later, had a Zoom meeting with Anna and she answered my nitpicking questions about the scope. A real pleasure.

Excellent Telescope!

I have been an observer for many years using an 8" SCT telescope and living in a Bortle 6 suburb of the Twin Cities Minnesota. With the SCT, I could barely observe a half dozen Deep Sky Objects from that location. With the eVscope2 and within 2-3 months I have observe and capture images of 74 galaxies and Nebulae. All right from my front porch. The interface is very easy and the Unistellar support team has been excellent and very responsive. I still however use SkySafari to find out where the object is in the sky and then go back and point eVscope to it. I would highly recommend this telescope.

Tracking Issues

First couple of months I used it myself due to husbands travel schedule. I figured it had to be user error. He assumed so to since so many positive reviews. So wrong...
Tracking Issues: The telescope consistently failed to track and locate the correct positions in the sky. Even when trying to view easily identifiable objects such as Orion, the telescope could not locate them accurately.

Focusing Problems: The telescope would not focus properly, resulting in blurry and unusable images.

Eclipse Viewing Failure: During a recent eclipse, the telescope failed to operate correctly, confirming that the issues were not due to user error.

My exciting birthday gift was a complete flop. We were excited to use it for the eclipse. Thank god we took our large Mede telescope. As you can tell I'm pretty upset, I purchase a lot of high end items and this is my first review I have ever given. I don't like giving a bad review however this one is so deserved.

We responded to your husband to his review from yesterday - we are sorry you are not satisfied with the product, this is definitely not the experience we want you to have. Unfortunately, we haven't seen many images in his ticket from April 10, except the Eclipse ones, so we are unable to judge their general quality.

The image quality depends on the users' environment. We tried to provide guidance and documentation before the Eclipse to guide our users about how to get the best results and what to expect (FAQ articles, social media posts). The smaller, blurrier, and more obscured the visible crescent, the more difficult it is for the Goto to keep up with the tracking. This is also the case with the Moon. This will be improved in 3.3 compared to before, but there are still cases of error, unfortunately. The solution here would have been starting the Goto before the Eclipse (as mentioned in the FAQ), which was not followed. We also invited him to contact the support with full details - more images, devices used, serial number - to help further.

On top of his statement "the photos of the normal object targets seems to not be a good as what you show on the web" - your husband sent us another email today with "More poor tracking and crappy images" and added images this time. We asked to share the serial as well, but all we got was "you should have it". Yes, we do, but sometimes the system records a wrong number so we like to double-check. Unfortunately, as per the images he sent earlier today, your telescope just cannot track properly because the focus is off. Loved the concept , but the reality...

Loved the concept of the Unistellar scope, design when it arrived, etc. Unfortunately its key features of finding and tracking are extremely limited and poorly implemented. In addition the photos (the main reason for buying) are nowhere near the advertised quality once calibrated per their instructions. Back and forth with their tech support ended in "oh well" attitude. I'd highly recommend not spending the $3500+ on this product.

Help with updating software

Help with updating firmware: I initially contacted Unistellar Customer Care Team with respect to an update issue I was experiencing with the firmware on the telescope. I was unable to update the firmware v3.1 to v3.2, the app updated but the telescope would not. After a few ping pong emails to Samy at Unistellar, where various fixes were suggested and attempted, it was determined that the root cause was a faulty SD card, after a few weeks, this arrived and following the 'how to replace' guide, a successful update was achieved straightaway.
Throughout the month long process, I was consistently treat in an extremely respectful and courteous manner, emails were replied to promptly and the advice given very clear. So a big thank you to Unistellar and to Customer Care Team - Samy.

Odyssey Pro - un superbe compagnon de nuit

Je viens de recevoir mon Odyssey Pro d'Unistellar. J'ai été supris de constater que le télescope était vraiment très bien protégé (3 couches). Ce qui se comprend quand on voit la qualité des matériaux. D'emblée on remarque la qualité avant même de l'essayer. Suite à un petit bug, j'ai contacté le service technique qui m'a répondu en moins de 24 heures et m'a aidé à régler le petit souci. Le service après-vente et aussi efficace que l'objet et beau, solide et bien conçu. Je vais pouvoir commencer mes observations (une fois que les nuages seront partis).
