Great hotels at reasonable prices
I wanted to say a small thank you to Hotels.com for the offers it has had on hotels I booked for my recent holidays to Austria, Thailand and Vietnam. The rates are often very competitive and availability of rooms is also very good. For a company of its size, it maintains a rather boutique feel to the way bookings and rewards are handled and I must admit it is slowly taking over Booking.com as my go to for hotels, which has gone pretty downhill in recent years as far as value for money is concerned. I've also never had a single issue with bookings and check-ins.

the room was musty
the room was musty, no guidelines on how to access wifi, carpark full of potholes, general air of lack of maintenance. coffee to breakfast undrinkable. Staff pleasant and helpful.

Unsatisfactory outcome
When completing a payment the web site warned there had been a problem and that I should try again. I did and ended up with a double booking. Despite many communications and live discussions I have not achieved a refund or the ability to book a different hotel for a one night stay. Very poor customer service and no solution other than to lose my money.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel was spotless and rooms acceptable. Good location. However, breakfast was poor (items not re-filled, poor selection, not great quality).

The Arms hotel Stay
The Arms hotel was ok, for the few nights that we were there.. I reached home and three letters were waiting. Three fines for using the car parking facilities. We talked about this at the reception when I arrived and I paid amount extra for the parking. So now I have too go through this traumatic situation. The lack of communication between the hotel and private company is to blame and as soon as someone at the hotel answers the phone, the hopefully this will be solved Shame this has happened.
