Have to pay to apply to jobs!
Having to pay to apply to jobs is dystopian and disgusting, shame on this platform and companies who use it.
Lots of other ways they could generate review such as adverts, listing fees, or commision when work is confirmed.
But taking the money up front from people who are out of work is immoral.

Hi, we're sorry to hear you feel this way. Our subscription service exists to help us maintain a high-quality platform that works fairly for both freelancers and clients. That said, free users do currently receive 1 pitch per month at no cost, and LinkedIn users are also offered a discount code and free trial directly on job listings.

Improve profile creating phase
Twine needs to improve freelancer's profile creating module. It is messy, steps are unclear.

Hi, thank you for the honest feedback. This is really useful for us to hear.
We're sorry the profile creation process felt unclear and messy. That's definitely not the experience we want for freelancers getting started on Twine, and we'll be passing this on to the team to look into.
If you have any specific suggestions or ran into any particular issues, feel free to reach out to us at support@twine.net - we'd love to hear more.

I was lured to this site via deception
I was lured to this site via a Job Listing on LinkedIn which turned out to be nothing more than just another freelance site.
After I spent some time uploading profile etc, I was not even given the ability to apply for a single job, before I hit their pay wall asking my to pay and subscribe.
None of this was mentioned on LinkedIn.
I wrote to support for a 30 day free trail, which I think is only reasonable, and support didn't even bother to respond.

Hi, thank you for sharing this. We're really sorry to hear about your experience and completely understand why that would be frustrating.
Just to clarify, free users are able to apply for 1 job per month at no cost. However, each job listing also has its own application limit, and if that limit has been reached, you won't be available to apply, which may well be what happened in your case. As a LinkedIn user, a free trial is also displayed directly on the job listing when you attempt to apply, so we'd encourage you to keep an eye out for that next time.
Regarding our support team, we aim to respond to all messages within 1 business day, so we're concerned to hear you didn't receive a reply. Please do reach out to us again at support@twine.net, and we'll make sure someone gets back to you promptly.

Absolute scam
This platform is nothing but a money grabbing scam. Can’t apply for more than one job a month without paying… That should already tell you everything about this company. Forcing you to pay to apply for jobs… They CLEARLY don’t care about freelancers at all.

Hi, thanks for sharing your feedback. We genuinely hear you and understand the frustration.
We do want to clarify, though, that free users are able to apply for 1 job per month at no cost, and we work hard to make sure that option is available to everyone. For those who want to apply more frequently, our monthly plans start at $18.99, and LinkedIn users are also offered a discount code to make it even more accessible.
We truly do care about freelancers; it's the whole reason Twine exists. We're constantly trying to strike a balance that's fair for both freelancers and the platform that supports them, and feedback like this helps us continue to improve.
If you'd like to chat further or have any other concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@twine.net. We're always happy to help.

Twine is an absolute waste of money
Twine is an absolute waste of money; they advertise on LinkedIn and give the option for easy apply, but the link moves you to the twine.net page and in order to apply for anything - you must pay over £80. The worst part is - most jobs I saw there were scams. I applied for so many, but whatever I received answers from were simply trying to fish your data.

Dubious Signing Up Practices
Email received today, I never signed up for it and there is nothing on the blank profile to identify myself so already getting red flags. Either employees are scamming the company by just adding X amount of people onto their website by getting email addresses from places like LinkedIn so they get commission, or their business model actively supports this sort of shady practice whereby ther are adding people's email addresses into their system and creating a blank profile. Not sure which, but either way I don't appreciate it.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for flagging this. We completely understand why that would raise concerns.
We recently fixed an issue where some users who had previously signed up (in some cases quite a while ago) weren’t receiving emails they had opted into, and a small number have only just started receiving updates again. That may be what’s happened here.
We definitely don’t create accounts or add people without their consent.
If you’re open to it, please contact us at support@twine.net and we’ll look into your specific case right away and remove your details if needed.
