to be fair got a OK price from them, its what was expected less then the retail value etc


however i am still waiting for the money, completed all the paperwork and website says payment same day, on their paperwork to be fair it does say 3 days by BACS

anyway its now been 5 days and still no money, all their staff on the phone are rude and just say wait for it

I was offered £26340 for my car online, I had a call from Ryan and he assured me if my car was in good condition, I would get the price offered. I traveled 30 miles to their nearest branch for the car assessment. This was done quickly & professionally, then the assessor phoned Trusted Car Buyers, and that's where it all went wrong. Not having anything wrong with the car to justify dropping the price, they told me their online tool valued it wrong, I was only offered £24000 and were surprised when I turned them down! What a bunch of cowboys, I'm offered £17500 for my car online, and within 30mins I'm called by their office and told my car is only worth £16250 and did I want to do the deal.
You can't even give them a bad rating on their own website as it can only be done if you do the deal
Don't waste you time by talking to these conmen!

What a sham. the website valuation for my car was above their competition, but when I called I was advised that the valuation was due to a computer/software error and that the actual valuation would be around £3000 less. After entering the registration again I got the same website valuation, so either someone was taking the mickey or this company does not know the term customer satisfaction.
Being a reasonable person I decided to give them another try with another car I had for sale, this time the valuation looked reasonable and slightly higher than the completion, however, when we discussed the car condition the phone, the assistant had to default to his Manager who apparently was a very experienced with the make and model having worked for the manufacturer. Based on the information provided they could offer a price which was £1500 below the website valuation and did not include pick up charges which were extra.

This outfit appear to have no intention of providing a fair competitive price that is close to their site valuation, both prices given for vehicles were around 20% below the site valuation and were given without having seen the vehicle. The fact that their computer could not even provide a market valuation foe one of the cars says much about the company and their professionalism.This beggars belief.

Very unprofessional even to the point of using the old telesales trick of reverting to my manager.

Subsequent to my dealings I was hounded by their marketing company to provide feedback. Well here it is.

Apparently I committed 2 cardinal sins, dropping in without an appointment on the off-chance the agent was available for an inspection and getting a digit wrong of my phone no.
The agent was available and after inspecting said the car was in decent condition for its age but he was currently only interested in smaller family cars of that age. My last question “So you are not interested in the car at all?” was confirmed by the agent.
On getting home and checking their website, I contacted them about the ‘we will buy any car’ clause – which they confirmed was the case. At first I was told as I had not booked I would have to rebook with the next closest agent. As that is about 1.5 hours drive I said it was ridiculous seeing their local agent had already seen the car. They said they would contact him and get back to me. No call so I called them again and after going round the next nearest loop again they contacted the local agent who ‘remembered’ making an offer of less than half the original quote! – no such offer had been made.
I said the pitiful offer, lack of return calls etc had made for a dreadful customer experience, no way would I deal with them and put the phone down.
Footnote, I sold the car to a local dealer for almost 3 times the ‘non-offer’ from Trusted Car Buyers, surely a moral there somewhere.

I entered the details of my car on their website and was offered £5,405.

They then sent me an e-mail to say that they'd been unable to get hold of me & could I call them back, which I did the next day. I was then told that despite the quote being valid for 7 days that they would only pay £4,900 - a drop of £500 in less than 24 hrs. I was not impressed and told them so.

I immediately checked on their website & my valuation had been re-set to £4,900.

My car was one of a batch of ex-manufacturers cars that were sold off at the same time, so I tried again using the reg of a different car from the same batch & entered exactly the same details. And what do you suppose it was valued at? It was £5,440.

So they are clearly advertising false prices to lure people in & not updating model prices even when they claim that market conditions have changed.

A higher valuation than their main competitior online made me take notice and they claimed to offer a free collection which would be convenient, since I was selling on behalf of a friend suffering from Alzheimer's. Then they rang me, and claimed that due to the fact it was the month end, they wouldn't be offering what their website said (the prices would depreciate in the next few days).

The lady on the phone had the gall to say that instead of the £2260 that their website was still quoting for the car, they would only be offering £1600. Told her to stuff it and went to the competition, who despite their slightly lower original valuation were very easy to deal with were far closer with their offer and at least they had seen the car before lowering the offer to account for real, actual damage...
