TruGreen - Springfield MO Arvostelua 3

We hired TruGreen in 2024 to treat a few weeds in our front yard. They came out twice, but afterward, more than half of our front yard was completely bare. We were told not to worry—they had put down grass seed and promised we'd see healthy new growth by summer. Unfortunately, the lawn looks even worse now.

I called to express my concerns, and they convinced me to extend the treatment to both the front and back yards. They offered partial services for free and some at a discount. Our backyard originally had just a few weeds but was mostly green and healthy. After two additional treatments, about 85% of our backyard grass is now dead.

When I sent them photos, they claimed it was our fault—saying most of our lawn had been weeds, not grass, and that their products don’t kill healthy grass. While they did refund the last few treatments, we’re now left with a severely damaged lawn and will need to hire another company just to restore it to the condition it was in before TruGreen started.

The representative I worked with took no responsibility and blamed us for the damage. If it were true that our entire lawn was weeds, they should have warned us upfront that their treatments would leave us with bare dirt. Instead, they reassured us we'd have nice, green grass.

I wouldn’t be writing this review if the company had been honest, helpful, or taken responsibility. Based on our experience, I would not recommend TruGreen to others.

My yard was filled with weeds so I called TruGreen. A "lawn care specialist" called me and we agreed to a treatment on the lawn. I instructed him to contact the property manager before going there, providing name and contact information. He agreed to contact her, after which I contacted property manager to advise he would be calling before going there. I am the owner. The tenant and property manager have an agreement that before anyone goes on the property, he will be notified. The second thing is that I wanted to be there when he went there to see that someone was actually doing their job. So the next morning he, Kyle Y, emails me stating that he had been there and completed the work. I called the property manager to ask if he had contacted her, and she stated that the TruGreen employee had not called her. I then called TruGreen customer service and cancelled any future work because employee had not followed instructions. Every day since I have cancelled the service, the "lawn care worker" has emailed me to state he is on his way to my house to perform work. I called customer service and asked to have the emails stopped but the emails keep coming. So, I called again today to ask to speak with the owner or general manager about a problem employee. The agent said someone would get back to me in 48 to 72 hours. So, we'll see where that goes. I recommend that no one deals with this company unless they get control of what their employees are doing. There might be good employees there, but you don't know for sure what you're going to get, because I ended up with one who doesn’t follow instructions, doesn’t have enough sense to even apologize, plus is vindicative in sending harassing emails.

Used to be a good service company. I had them for many years while I lived in Colorado. Now living in Missouri the service is like they did nothing. My yard was fescue that I worked for 4 years. Now after 1 season with Trugreen it is Bermuda grass, and lots and lots of crabgrass. They treated my yard so much with trying to kill the crabgrass that it killed my yard. I fill a 40 gallon trash can with weeds every 2 weeks. They say to just call them if you have a weed issue. I did and now pay the price. Even the Tech said my yard had always looked very nice until they started treating it. This was only a 3 moth period. t also had their tree and shrub treatment. 1 of my Lilac bush's died under their care. They used to have warranty under the care that replaced the damaged tree of shrub for free. Now it is to bad. Not a service I would recommend any longer. For the cost just buy the material and do it yourself. It will save you money in the end.

Update: I contacted them about 3 weeks ago and same process. Nothing. Not sincere about customers
