Triodos Bank UK Arvostelua 796

Resolved issue with card payment to USA. Thanks to Toni's help we discovered that there is a security setting to restrict debit card payments to within Europe. Toni advised that this can be changed via the Triodos app and once this was set to 'Worldwide' the payment to the USA went through fine.

The service and support we receive from Triodos is excellent and we have had no regrets since moving to them over two years ago. We would definitely recommend banking with them if you value service, want a user friendly & effective banking app and wish to bank with a bank which has an ethical approach to managing your savings, not knowingly investing in or lending to unethical businesses.

I wish to open a savings account with triodos bank. On their website, it tells me to download their app.

I downloaded their app.

I attempted to apply for an account using the app as instructed. It redirected me to their website.

The website told me to apply through the app.

Is anyone else able to detect the problem here ?

Jokes aside, I appear to be stuck inside a never ending loop of doom akin to having PTO inscribed on both sides of a bit of paper.

I just humbly request that i wish to open a savings account with Triodos Bank. Please.

I don't know why, but, all things considered, I seem to have formed the impression that this outfit might have a less than a firm grip on the issue. Sub optimal. Poor. Useless, even. Does this reflect on the underlying culture of the bank? What do you think?

Amazing sustainable projects meeting a wide range of needs. I highly recommend Triodos Bank. High ethical standards.

My wife and I wanted to open a joint account at Triodos because it doesn't invest in fossil fuels. However our attempt failed because either a driving licence or a passport is required and my wife has neither. A telephone enquiry confirmed that without such identification it is not possible to open an account.

It seems ironic that a bank with such high ethical principles is unable to accommodate a potential customer who neither drives a car nor travels abroad.

Entering my third year with Triodos, as good as any of the big banks, of course with the rather important fact that my money is not funding ecologically unsound or fossil fuel projects.

As easy as anything to swop over both current and savings accounts.

Have recently opened a current account and am very pleased with it. Have been a savings customer for a while so know how good this bank is.A little surprised at the negativity/hostility by mainstream institutions but am more than at home with Triodos and continue to be so.

Excellent experience over the first 6 months of having a Triodos ISA account - so pleased to know my money is having a positive impact rather than just being used to fund commercial areas I don't agree with.
Brilliant customer service the couple of times I've needed it.

I've had two Triodos accounts for about three years which I use primarily to process income and expenditure on properties I own. In that time I've been super impressed by the ease and speed with which I can do anything I need to.
However Triodos stood head and shoulders above all my other bank accounts recently when I was mugged whilst overseas of my phone (which had the Triodos app on it). I wasn't able to phone the bank (obviously) but my partner was and they immediately suspended app and account access until such time as I could phone in myself. Regaining access to my accounts was not only very strictly monitored but quickly and securely done, with lots of options for getting back into the app, and all this from 6 000 miles away.
Compare this to the endless debacle at the high street banks I also bank with and their total inability to arrange account access from overseas and I'm moving all my accounts to Triodos in the new year.

I have banked with Triodos for several years, I switched because they have the most ethical policies of all the banks, plus their customer service is the best I have experienced. If I have to call up for any reason the call is always answered quickly, and my query is quickly answered

Triodos bank is the best! I feel so confident and reassured that my money is being used for really good, worthwhile causes that support everything from green energy, social enterprises, wildlife charities and much more. I spent many years in the dark about my previous high street bank but knowledge is power and as soon as I discovered that my money was being used to fund oil and gas companies that cause incredible harm to our planet, as well as investments in organisations linked to the arms trade, it was a very easy decision to cut all ties and find a better way to bank. Thank you Triodos, if only all banks would follow your lead.

They also have a great service team and have dealt with questions and queries with efficient , polite and friendly speediness. I have banked with Triodos for over ten years and have found them to be a very solid bank with its priorities up front.

I trust Triodos bank to use my money to help projects that are good for the environment and for society. They keep me informed about the projects that they are enabling. Any time that I have needed to contact them with a question they are very helpful on the phone. I would recommend them to anyone who cares about how their money is used.

I have recently sold and bought a house, had an attempted online fraud and transferred money to a family member abroad. Triodos have been excellent in dealing with all of these issues. The call centre have answered in a few minutes. Online communication has been good and information sent as quickly as possible. security has been vigilant. Gives you confidence in banking with Triodos. Also good to know your money is being used ethically.

We tried to open a new charity account with a substantial deposit but Triodos bank refused to open a new account.

It was good to get a real and very helpful person to sort out my problem

Triodos offer hope for better ways of doing things.On top of being "Green" and "ethical", their responses by phone are always prompt and relevant. v. Good.

Member since 2017, not had a bad experience yet. All the services of a high street bank with the ethics and common touch of a community hub.

Each time I speak directly to a customer service member of staff at Triodos bank, I have been entirely satisfied with the help and assistance that I have received. They always understand my enquiry and meet my needs exceptionally well.

It is unusual in this day and age to be able to speak to a person directly; thankfully at Triodos Bank I am always greeted by a human being who clearly knows their job and can respond to each and every query that I have raised. This takes away all the frustration that can build up when you can get no-one to listen.

Phone answered within a few minutes, with very helpful person who knew where to find the answer to my problem and did it quickly. Nice friendly service and good overall banking service, especially the Triodos app which I find easy to use. Reasonable range of savings accounts on offer as well.
