I would never recommend a Toro Lawn Mower. I purchased at Lowes a Toro 54"Timercuter zero turn and paid $4,500. After 40 days I spent more time fizing that work. Called costumer service and was one of the worst. Get out of theme

I purchased a Toro, Model #21445 Lawn Mower from Lowe's. It was not cheap. Also purchased the 3 yr. warranty from Lowe's, thank goodness. Had it for 6 weeks, used it 3 times and now it will not start. Plus, it cuts horribly. Maybe the blades were put in wrong. Took it to the closest authorized Toro repair facility who had the best reputation and they said that it would be "14" weeks until I could get it back. Now, I have to hire someone to mow my yard in the meantime. What a piece of junk.

We got a time cutter 42”. So they say we had a 3yr warranty, plus we purchased 3 more yrs = 6 yrs of warranty . We live in Florida ,& been without our mower for 2 weeks , because they can’t find a “ service “ center …after we’ve given them one . I was thinking about getting the 48”Time Cutter Max , but after this experience , I may go somewhere that handles their own warranty work . We actually paid for this .

That's the whole story.
I ordered a 54" mower deck from Toro on 5/19/26. What followed was five weeks and four shipments before I got the part I paid for.
Shipment #1: wrong size (50" instead of 54"). I sent Toro photos, measurements, and video proving the mismatch. Their response was to tell me to haul a 100-lb deck nearly 70 miles to an authorized dealer just to confirm what my own evidence already showed.
To Toro's credit, once the dealer (The Tractor Barn) confirmed the error, they refunded the purchase and shipped a replacement. Shipment #2: also the wrong size. Shipment #3, ordered directly by the dealer this time to rule out any error on my end: wrong size again. It took a fourth attempt before the correct 54" deck finally arrived.
To be clear, this was not the dealer's failure — The Tractor Barn caught every mismatch, escalated repeatedly, and ultimately solved a problem Toro's own warehouse could not. Without them, I'd likely still be waiting.
Toro's final word on five weeks of repeated shipping errors and a customer having to prove the obvious three times over: a $100 check, with no note and no apology. The $100 doesn’t even cover the gas I used making three round trips to the dealer…
If you're considering Toro equipment, I strongly recommend you buy it through a dealer who will fight for you — because Toro's own customer service and fulfillment process will not.

Buy a Toro push motor not very old many a few yrs old from Home depot one that don’t have to change oil just add now it fire up but when using it sounds like it wants to die tank full of gas when it get warm doesn’t run junk DO NOT BUY A TORO!!!!!

I gave a four start review, when I got my mower three weeks ago. I do not use the mower my wife does, then she told me the throttle would not hold it's position. I took the cover off and I figured it would be just tighten up a bolt, but it is a sealed unit, with no adjustment. Then trying to get any help from Toro is a total joke. They keep telling me when they will call be back but never do, I wish I would have never bought the Toro 54 inch zero turn.

Hydrostatic transmissions whining and loosing power after about a half hour. Just over 50 hrs on machine
Garage kept and no leaks. While servicing Hydrostatic transmissions, right side fluid was white While the left looks pretty much normal. Looks like water contamination from factory, never out of Garage unless mowing. Never mowed under water! Maybe servicing will help, otherwise I'm up sh-t creek i guess. Past warranty since I don't use it allot

I’m a professional gardener , bought a brand new recycler mower and have had nothing but trouble with it . It just continually cuts out , used the recommended fuel and it makes not one bit of difference . All sorts of warrenty work have been done including none warrenty mechanics . The warrenty has now run out . It’s so bad Iv had to go and buy a Sthil mower. Avoid Torro like the plague .

Do not buy a Toro lawnmower !! I'm giving this one star because I can't give it zero ! Bought new partway through mowing season, worked good that first year only. Had to have it taken in 2nd year, clean out fuel system, there's another $125 added to my purchase price. I keep a can of starter fluid handy, I only use regular fresh gasoline but it stills stops part way through mowing my small lawn. I thought I was buying my last lawnmower but doubt this will last 5 years. Truly a piece of crap.

Went to Toro new branch, bad experience. One hour for food to arrive when it was not overly busy. Ordered Ribs and T-bone steak. Ribs were burnt. Steak was chewy. Food presentation awful. Didn’t even serve drinks and we had to ask again and again. Issues with payment, guy on till couldn’t work out how to take money. Overall bad service and food.

We have owned our TORO 21" RECYCLER II for many years. It always used to work fine. Now, we cannot even get it to "start", unless we spray Starting Fluid into the filter area first! TORO personnel are of no help; most can't be understood over the telephone. We had it in their Round Lake, IL repair shop thru ACE Hardware for almost 4 weeks!

Ordered a seat cover from a Toro dealer. They emailed me that it was not available so I ordered one from Toro website direct. The dealer order arrived and the seat cover was included so I called Toro and they refused to refund the second order even if I refused delivery. I will have to contact my credit card company. Thank god it was a seat cover issue for $60 and not thousands for a mower. I am done with Toro and will NEVER buy anything from them.

just got it 1/22/26, got up some leaves this morning, after adjusting the wheel height this recycler max went to work. LOVE IT

Many of their devices such as blowers, trimmers and other garden equipment are obsolete. Do not buy them! The batteries that they sold these devices with are no longer available and so owners who have bought multiple devices that rely on a single common battery are now stuck.

I ordered a deck belt from Toro’s official website, using their tool to select the correct part for my mower model. The site led me to the wrong belt, and at no point did it clearly state that the part was non-returnable.

When I realized the mistake, I tried both chat and phone support (after searching extensively for a phone number). The phone representative was extremely rude, repeatedly spoke over me, and refused to listen or work with me on a solution. When I asked for a manager, she claimed there wasn’t one available, but that someone could call me back in 48 hours.

Shockingly, right before the call, all my order information was visible in my account. Immediately after the call, all my order details had vanished. I strongly suspect the representative deleted my order information from the system, which is completely unacceptable.

The Outcome
I am stuck with a $200 part I cannot use and a broken lawn mower.
I cannot afford to buy the correct replacement part due to this error.
I paid $50 for next-day shipping, but the part took over a week to arrive.
The customer service experience was dismissive, unhelpful, and disrespectful.
My order information mysteriously disappeared from my account after my call.
What I Need
A return or exchange for the incorrect part.
A refund for the shipping delay.
An explanation for why my order information was deleted.
An apology and assurance this will be addressed for future customers.
Final Thoughts
This has been one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I hope this review reaches someone at Toro who can actually help resolve this issue and prevent it from happening to others.

I bought a Toro 22" Recycler Mower from Lowe’s in March 2025. The mower stopped working after only 20 minutes of use. I contacted Toro several times, and they sent me to different dealers for repair — five times total — and it still doesn’t work.

When I called Toro customer service on October 8, 2025, I asked for a replacement under warranty, but the representative refused and said “we don’t take it back after use,” even though it’s still under warranty.

This is the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. I wasted my whole summer and a lot of time taking this mower for repairs with no results. Very disappointed in Toro’s product quality and service.

I purchased your product from Lowes in April 2024 for $549 and I registered it on your website. During my first use the plastic piece holding the cable for self propulsion broke off and I had to return it to Lowes for replacement which was a hassle but after that I used it successfully for a number of months. I cleaned the air filter after each use and checked the oil periodically as per your instruction manual and added oil as necessary. In May 2025 after a month of use I was unable to get the mower to start as per your guarantee of quick start. I took it to a Toro authorized repair facility: Capitol Repair Services 6566 West Broad Street Richmond, VA 23230 and they told me they needed to change the oil. I told them that your instruction manual indicated that was not necessary. He was able to cover some of the work under the product warranty but I was still charged $75.00 for some of it. I was in a rock in a hard place if I wanted to mow my lawn. This week (08/12/25) my self propel stopped working and I was able to change the belt with the help of my son-in-law. I was surprised this needed replacement so soon. It looked worn and after replacement the self propel worked again. Now the Briggs and Stratton engine is not maintaining power during mowing especially after some use. I AM TOTALLY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS MOWER AND ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD IN SUCH A SHORT TIME MOWING MY LAWN EVERY WEEK. I DON’T MIND DOING THE BASIC REGULAR MAINTENANCE AS PRESCRIBED IN YOUR USER’S MANUAL BUT IT IS NOT HOLDING UP TO THE USE IN MY YARD. I am open to a replacement mower to rectify this situation. Trying to contact ya’ll on the phone to discuss this problem is a complete frustration and waste of my time as no one answers or ever gets back to me!

I purchased the Toro Recycler Max with Personal Pace and Smart Stow with 22-inch deck in 2024. Sorry Toro but, this unit is terrible. Low power motor that bogs down a lot. It started hard brand new. This year, I can't get it to start at all. It's very disappointing to have a mower less than 1 year old with so many problems already.
