Canceled my card on false terms. Stated I was unable to pay bill, even though I had account for 7 plus years and never missed a payment. Balance never went near max, only used about 1/3 of usage available.

Stay far away from this company. They are the worst to work with or deal with. Stick with high-end companies, Capital One Bank of America anything else but this. I have never seen a credit company every six months drop your credit limit when you have been in good standings with the company pay all of your bills on time in full. I run a small company and had thousands of dollars worth of credit line with them. Out of the blue, they cut it in half with zero explanation. Six months after they dropped it down to a few hundred dollars. I don’t know how they can do that when we were spending thousands of dollars on just one of their cards every single month on gas alone. They must not like making money and the reviews that you were reading. Explain exactly why you need to stay away from this company. And it’s not just their credit cards it’s Paypal. It’s everything they start you off with a high credit limit. It looks great on your credit score you pay your bills on time you do all the right things and then every so often they drop your credit limit for no reason at all, and that affects your credit score. Keep in mind as well. It becomes a negative review even though you have a good standing with the company. It’s absolutely absurd stay far away.

After being a great customer and paying them on time every time they decrease your limit and mess your credit up. They have very high interest rates and will do their best to mess you around. Never missed a payment, never was late but after I paid my cards down they immediately lowered my limits for no reason. So, what that does is shows you're using over 35% of your limit. I had three cards at $3500-$5000. I paid on time for over two years. I decided to pay them down. They lowered my limits to $200 a card. Those cards was 29% interest rates but my plan was to still keep them just in case but nothing I could do with a $200 limit.

the most disgusting company I have ever dealt with. their portals are a joke. I am phasing out everything to do with Synchrony related accounts. They have wasted so much of my time energy and frustration. total incompetence in technology and security. Short all of their stock

Terrible bank. First they cancel your card after one year of no use but it's not like it's a regular credit card where you can use it for any purchases. There are specific categories you can only use the card for so what if a consumer has no need for it for a period of time? This bank expects you to be consistently using their card to keep your account open. They are also the only bank I know that doesn't provide a courtesy waiver of returned check fees. An error occurred that was ultimately a mistake but they don't extend any courtesies or provide good customer service. Terrible bank. Nickel and dime you for everything.

There is something so seriously wrong with Synchrony Bank and it's making me very angry. Their bank cards, Lowes, Synchrony master card, and Care credit are all ripe for fraud and guess who they blame. Cannot tell you the grief they have caused. Clearly, in my case it was not hard to know that the accounts were compromised, the charges were not mine, and all activity appeared over a short period with large purchases. You'd think that Synchrony Bank would tag it, but they don't. Got no alerts, no filters and they do nothing to correct the situation. That's all for now.

Lowes and Amex switched to Synchrony Bank for the Lowes pro credit card. I don't know why Amex would keep their name on the card. I have had nothing but problems with Synchrony. It started with registering the new card through payment processing. I ended up closing the account (the Synchrony agent did not care) and moving my business to HD.

Opened a cd account with them. Had the money transferred from my checking. Easy enough except my money disappeared. Rep hung up on me. Virtual assistant put me in line for a call back well over an hour ago. Zero.

What a great company to not do business with. Can't access my account to pay the balance let alone speak with anyone. So now I have to wait till Monday to pay the balance. Saddest part I have an account but when I input all the crazy info they want it says my account does not exist. Funny as they take money on a direct withdrawal monthly. Stay away from these guys bad bad juju....

It’s really sad how the system is set up to get people in more debt even when they are attempting to pay it off. The credit system along with a lot of these loans are contracts of deception! I have been faithfully working to pay down this credit card that was offered to me as an assistance when I went to get work done on my vehicle. I typically was going through Affirm whom I’ve used and although their high interest rate are on top it’s worked for me. (At least you know what you’re dealing with) This company after I got my balance down to roughly $800 they slapped me with another $206 in interest bringing my balance up to $1000 on a $1500 credit.
I’ve started making a habit to look at reviews on companies first since getting this cc because this company is full of stiff necked reps and wrongful dealings with their customers. I’ve read where they screw people credit report with how their accounts are paid off and closed.

They get these payments in full and still be then use the law to leave the customer with a bad record. The Bible warns about signing a surety contract and it’s a lesson learned. Deeply regret listening to the sales lady who advised me that I would be better off with this card than affirm. Following my initial decision is vital for me here on out. I learned quickly what type of hearts they have when my tire went flat the next day I got the service and called them.

Rip off company. Avoid at all costs (of which I have to ironically do to get out of my CC situation). Poor customer service. Thieves!

I am working diligently to better my financial outlook. Synchrony Bank has now damaged my efforts by decreasing my credit limit even though I have been a good customer, made my payments, then paid a huge amount toward my balance. So my efforts to better my financial outlook was stomped on because Synchrony decreased my limit. If they would have waited a month, my scores would have looked different, but they didn’t. It is such a defeating feeling. They just suck as a bank.

Synchrony bank is PayPal’s choice for CC and it’s terrible ! The worst CC and customer service support there is bottom of the barrel. Annoying that you also have to ask permission to use their card when you travel a lot they will flag you very inconvenient they have their security turned way too high impossible to use for practical buys this card is bad.

This company has the worst customer service of any financial institution I have dealt with in five decades. I deal with them by no choice of my own with my PayPal business account and as the revolving credit bank for Lowe's as a Pro Sales Specialist. They show little to no regard for their customers. Routinely have inordinate hold times and use foreign representatives with heavy accents that are difficult to understand. They are rude at times and deny credit without sufficient explanations being given to their customers. I wish I never had to deal with them again. Would love to see the U.S. suspend their charter. Horrible company.

A few months ago, I would’ve highly recommended synchrony bank. I started off with a Lowe’s credit card with a couple thousand dollar credit limit. I was so good about charging and paying my card early and making double and triple payments never minimum payments they quickly raise my credit limit substantially. I was thrilled I went on and opened six other credit cards through synchrony Bank. CareCredit, Ashley furniture rooms to go and others. I always made my payments on time and never just the minimum payments. I actually made most of my payments weeks early. I never once maxed out my credit cards not even close. I have other credit cards not through synchrony. Never had a late payment on that. I have a mortgage payment and two car payments. Never had a late payment on that. My credit score was 716. Not bad. Unfortunately, we had a death in the family and this person did not have life insurance. I applied for a $10,000 loan and was quickly approved because my credit was so good. A few days later I log into my synchrony account to pay my credit cards and find out that every single one of my credit cards had been closed. I tried to talk through the live chat. They couldn’t give me any answers to explain why. I finally called customer service. They were extremely rude. Read off paragraph blah, blah blah, stating that they could close our credit at any time if they deemed us to be high risk The only thing that had changed was I applied for that 10,000 loan they wouldn’t confirm that that’s what happened. to this day I never got a straight answer on why they did it. They told me that I could reapply at a later time. I will continue to pay off my balances. so my credit stays in good standing. However, I am devastated that this happened to me and that nobody can give me a clear answer on why. I had recommended synchrony Bank to all of my grown children. Now that they have found out what happened to me they are going to pay off their credit card through synchrony bank, and close their accounts. This is not a way to treat a loyal customer, especially with no fair coherent reason as to why. If my credit cards were maxed out, and I was making minimum payments only and paying late I could halfway understand. However, it was a total opposite. I paid my payments early made double or triple of my minimum payments and never even got close to maxing out my credit cards. Very disappointing.

My experience with Synchrony Bank has been extremely disappointing. My concern is not the debt itself it is the lack of transparency and the inconsistent information I received throughout the settlement process.

I entered into what Synchrony later described as a verbal settlement agreement. However, despite numerous requests, Synchrony has never provided me with a copy of the recorded conversation, a written settlement agreement, my settlement terms, or any documentation explaining exactly what I agreed to. Instead of providing the records I requested, Synchrony mailed historical billing statements and an undated cover letter that had nothing to do with my request.

The most concerning part of my experience is that Synchrony's own communications contradict one another. In a letter sent directly to me, Synchrony confirmed that my account had been "settled in full." However, in that very same letter, Synchrony states that it instructed the credit bureaus to report my account as "Paid in Full for Less Than the Full Balance." In other words, what Synchrony confirmed to me in writing is not the same as what it chose to report to the credit bureaus. One communication tells me my account is settled in full, while the other results in a negative credit reporting status that has directly affected my credit profile and mortgage qualification.

After receiving an unexpected IRS Form 1099-C, I learned from my tax professional that the settlement carried tax and credit reporting consequences that I did not understand when I entered into the agreement. Had those consequences been clearly explained and had Synchrony provided the settlement agreement and terms that I repeatedly requested I would have either paid the remaining balance in full or negotiated a different settlement agreement.

To make matters even more confusing, Synchrony's automated system continues to state that approximately an amount is due, while representatives continue to tell me the account is settled and refuse to accept payment.

My experience has been one of inconsistent communication, incomplete documentation, and a lack of transparency. As a direct result, I no longer have confidence in Synchrony Bank's business practices. I will no longer do business with Synchrony Bank, and I have also chosen to stop shopping with Amazon because of its affiliation with Synchrony. Consumers deserve honest communication, complete documentation, and the opportunity to fully understand the terms and long-term consequences of any agreement before making important financial decisions.

Wow! A 1-Star Bank before we even got to Trustpilot! When Lowes offered us a credit line, we accepted because we've done extensive remodeling to our home during the last 4-7 years. When CareCredit offered us a line, we gratefully accepted it for dental work and pet care. But when Amazon offered us a card because the volume we pushed through their site, we were ready for another level.

We had no idea that level would be a 1-Star Bank backing these companies, because we had no idea who Synchrony was. The result?

Lowes card had zero balance, and arbitrarily closed after pushing between $5G-$15G through it over a half decade.

CareCredit had zero balance, and arbitrarily closed after years of pet care and dental work.

Amazon card paid in full each month except the 0% financed products that were paid on-time each month. Synchrony HOLDING funds already pulled from paying bank, and not properly crediting the Amazon account for as many as 10-14 days! So when an erroneous $2G payment was sent, we stopped it and tried sending the actual payment amount. The system refused it and only accepted around $50! Then Synchrony recorded our payment late? Next thing we knew, the Amazon account was closed siting, "too many 'customer' rejected payments!"

What a JOKE!

Customer Service Representatives make false statements that end costing customers LOTS of fee and charges. DO NOT USE!! STAY CLEAR!! DO NOT RECOMMEND!! Unethical practices that screw the customers.

Their collections team held me hostage on the phone and refused to transfer me to technical support until I paid my bill. My goal was simply to verify the charges before paying. They will remove access to mobile apps (removing a payment option) to customers who's accounts are delinquent. My goal is simply to review my account and resolve the balance responsibly. However, the current process appears to create barriers rather than support consumers who are attempting to make payment. These practices raise concerns that current processes may create unnecessary barriers that could be viewed as unfair or deceptive if they prevent customers from accessing account information and resolving balances responsibly.

For the last 5..6 or so years I have been unable to obtain any loans that use this company & at this point, considering to get a lawyer to go after this bank. I have never used them a day in my life, however you have to use them for most financing such as for vehicle tires and daily needs. You would think after this long & making good money ( over 3k a month) a approval would not be hard, guess I was 100% wrong.
