Numerous reviews here denote this "dating app" as bad, in fact the vast majority do including in 'walled garden' app review portals on smartphones... Looking at the companies Wikipedia page we see a 22 Million dollar investment was made recently... I pity the investors who poured their money down the drain effectively !

When you join up you cannot 'like' anyone or message them without being forced to upload a face picture. (Don't do it, just delete your profile first permanently in settings, then the app itself, as they likely seek your photo to use elsewhere in their sister app or for inactivated profiles purposes, to make it appear they have a large active membership like the other scam apps also do). For a New Zealander like me, in the largest city here - after about 10-20 highly dubious profiles seemingly located nearby according to GPS coordinates, I get to scroll down a little and all the rest of the profiles are in Australia or further away... Other than this the constant online gambling adverts are terrible and are the number one reason to remove this app !

There is a "Live Feed" designed to be like an adult streaming chatroom over video minus the adult part, but with a credits system where the person streaming can make 'money' inside the app.

This app is such utter rubbish, I hope you will avoid the hype which still exists in certain probably fake app-store reviews (both Android and iOS), and save yourself the frustration. DO NOT pay these scumbag developers money. They deserve to fail as a company, and rapidly...

Horrible implementation. It's full of great ideas, like being able to search by country, or state, or city, ...or even for someone near you! Great right? Unfortunately not. As a Canadian citizen, I had expected that upon selecting to search by country, the app would return results of folks who live in the same country as me. Apparently, the programmers of the app seem to believe there is only one country. The United States of America. Ok, perhaps geography was not their strong suit. Selecting city, or near, yields results from as far away as the other side of the planet! I had thought that perhaps their understanding of gps was somewhat, shall we say, still in the formative stages and decided that instead of using their android app, I would try the web interface. WRONG PASSWORD! ...umm, no, I just set it, I know what it is... WRONG PASSWORD! ...hrm, ok, reset password on web interface, now I can log in via web... ...BUT NOT ON ANDROID! ...it's like they are using two different hashing algorithms, but writing the values to the same database entry, ...and expecting it to just work!

If you can get beyond the shoddy programming, kludgy and awful user interface, and what seems to be a deep seated case of apathy towards their users, you will still have to contend with all the bots, which unfortunately, seem to be written with about the same ability and style as the app itself. I would not be surprised to discover that the author of both is one and the same.

Add to this that they are trying to monetize broken software while doing nothing to fix it and you have a pretty good metric on this companies integrity.

All in all, skout deserves a negative rating, caution and warning signs, should be found culpable of inducing frustration among it's user base, and should probably pay great sums of money to anyone unfortunate to have used it's "services", based solely on the pain and suffering.

It was a great idea, but it doesn't work.

i used skout for yrs and yeah many freaks sex addicts and scammers like :"hi im from usa surgeon currently working in syria single dad wife passed away" or stuff like : u need a sugardaddy?!but i kinda loved the app i just dint fell for it and reported and blocked them my acct was closed recently and i contacted skout support they only told me my acct was closed for violating their terms and conditions( i had some accts during those yrs but some of my accts i cudnt log in coz of deleting changing email adress or phonenumber but i was never mean post sexual stuff or asked for sex i never asked for money or something like that...) i dint do anything wrong and i got no further reply to my question what exactly i have done wrong and what i cud do to get my acct back... too sad i have to give a really bad review 🤬🤬🤬
skout plz at least an explanation and if i had done something really wrong i dont remember or unaware of gimme the chance to make it better or apologize... i have no idea what happened

Skout/MM closed and blocked my acct for no legitimate reason. I contacted them thru email and they will not give me an explanation as to why my acct was closed. I did everything by the book such as verified my credentials. I was not posting nudes, scamming or begging for money. I guess I should have since everyone else can get away with it and there are a lot of fakes on Skout/MM. I will NEVER ever use Sissy Skout again! I strongly encourage others to never use SKOUT cause you’re just wasting your time & without reason your acct will most likely be closed like mine was. And I’m not afraid to post my review or let others know what a fckn joke this site is.

I've used the app for about 4 weeks now and find the calibre of people on there really disappointing. 99% of guys use this app for casual hookups with girls, there is no shortage of people sending inappropriate images or messages right off the get go. The few that seem genuine quickly turn out to be much the same after chatting for a while or even eventually meeting in person. It really becomes hard to take anyone serious or trust their true intentions.

Girls I've spoken with who use this app also indicate that there is alot of fake guys profiles, scammers and ladyboys on there trying to chat with them.

If your looking for serious connections with people, possibly a relationship or something to develop properly from a friendship first, this app probably isn't the right one to use.
All they have is escorts And scammers on This app! It's total Garbage! AND After I voiced my complaint, they blocked my email address! So childish and Petty! I don't Even know who approves These scandalous app

It looks like Skout took my account down without even explaining why... apparently I was level 29 so I would like all the money I paid for backs or I'm going to court.

One of the moderators asked to see me naked. Then after I refused, my account was blocked. Total BS

I am a 47 year old woman and a college graduate and I have never been treated so bad by any company I've ever used. I too was permanently deleted twice now for absolutely no reason at all but the worst part of the experience for me was the lack of concern by customer service and the fact that they will never tell you why you've been removed. This solves absolutely nothing at all for the user of the service and for Skout. How is anybody supposed to learn from their mistakes if you have no idea what you allegedly did wrong. I take this personally cause all the inappropriate men I encountered are allowed to do whatever they want and if you look at their Skout names that show up lots of them are totally sexually inappropriate and a reason to be deleted. In addition to that, all the disgusting pics I was sent that I didn't ask for and didn't respond to and they are still allowed to use skout but I get removed. Somebody needs to really look into this and Skout needs to stop treating users like they're less than human by not allowing you to explain what happened. No business runs this way unless they're in third world countries. I think skout needs to realize that deleting people that do nothing wrong, just enables more predators to use the app and I've seen these people on. Also, I've heard from other users that if anyone complains about you for any reason, they will delete you even if the complaint isn't true at all. That puts more users in potential danger cause it means you have to respond to everyone you encounter and I'm sorry but some people are weirdos on there and it's wrong for them to be able to do this to people. It just seems suspicious that both times I was deleted, I was told by two different men that since I ignored them, they will get me deleted and a few days later after seeing that, I was deleted. That's totally wrong and you shouldn't have to worry using a service like this that any moment you will be deleted. I know guys on there that should've been removed years ago but are not. Consumers should be heard before being deleted and after they delete you, they will give the same response no matter what you say. They delete you and after that, they're done with you and will keep sending the stupid response when you want answers and the response is the profile in question has been permanently deleted for violating the rules of service which tells you nothing except what you already know. It actually hurt my feelings really bad cause I've never been banned from anywhere and I did nothing wrong. I have no criminal record and I'm truthful and respectful always. I can understand being deleted if you threaten someone's well being or having a criminal record but that's not what happened. These are human rights violations in my opinion with the right to be informed, the right to be heard and the right to be educated about a service as a consumer and these are basic rights they are allowed to violate cause their disclaimer states, they have the right to delete you for violating terms of service or For No Reason at all. It's bad business practice and so far this is the only company I've encountered in my life that operate this way. All I'm asking for is to be treated equally and stating they can remove you for no reason at all violates equality since they can delete you at will whenever they feel like ruining your day and in my case, my life cause I'm ocd and this is horrible everytime I think about it. Skout needs to stop speaking out about how they have made the app safer for users cause they have not while operating this way. It's actually embarrassing telling anyone I was banned from Skout since most people are aware of the fact that Skout is known as one of the most disgusting dating apps of all where their are escorts using it and clearly still are cause of the sheer number of messages I've received on there where men are asking to hookup with me and pay for it. I would never do that and I've used a number of dating service and only received these types of messages on Skout.

Horrible filters. 20 somethings (probably fake profiles) constantly wanting to chat saying "Hi" and then wanting to get you to do kik or hangouts. Too many Phillipinos and Brazilians shown even when filter is set to "near" and near means in the US and local. Do yourself a favor and don't download.

Meetme sister app obsessed with photo verification. Seems to me to be a blocking mechanism. Why? Who knows

If I could give Skout zero stars I would. It's trash. I go to filters and put in my filters for men that live closest to me and all I get are men from Jamaica and the Middle East and other foreign countries. It's a p*** off literally! And not to mention all the fakes and scammers on there. I get more men talking to me from other countries than the ones that actually live near me. This isn't a dating site It's a cluster f*** All the men on there want to do is have sex. No one wants to actually get together face to face and date. SHUT SKOUT DOWN!!!!

Skout deleted my account for no f....reason! Sorry ass app!! I would like to know why

It's incredibly bad. My account has been deleted for no reason, I tried to make a new account but it says maximum accounts reached? You deleted my only account! Funnily enough the dude that has been stalking me on the app has made several accounts in a week, yet I get deleted? This may be the worst app in existence.

Both Skout and MeetMe, which are basically the EXACT same thing, is a terrible time for both men and women. I spent 1.5 years on 'both' and have determined the following. I want to mention that I'm a professional IT type, also with a background in online marketing (and the perils therein):

95% of the 18-40something women on the site are fakes. The ones that stand out the quickest as bots are the ones who send "Hi!" private messages (100% bot 100% of the time). They usually have very attractive, very Instagramish profile photO. Note I didn't say "photoS". The bots almost always have just one photo, which runs counter to the logic of someone whose trying to 'put themselves out there' on a dating/friends app.

The actual women I spoke to all have said the same thing: most of the guys they talk to end up being really aggressive, bullys when rejected, some outright creepy stalkers, etc. They also say that theyve only ended up meeting one or two people, after communicating with lots of jerks and robots.

If either platform has any interest in keeping down the amount of fake accounts, bots, shills etc they would consider the following:

Flag accounts for verification if they change their location in a way that would be impossible to acheive aka while online, their locations changes from new york to california in an instant. This would be impossible for a human to physically do, which means its someone faking their location.

Monitor/Flag accounts that send a lot of "Hi!" messages

Flag accounts that make drastic changes like full name change, gender change, etc. Use an algorithm that detects frequent changes

Force facial verification for any accounts using a free mail service such as Google or Yahoo (I know, that will be a lot)

Flag accounts that promote their snapchat and/or insta accounts on a regular basis (via DMs, in bio, etc). Most of their promotional messages follow the same 3 or 4 formats, so it shouldnt be hard to identify whose auotmating their messages and whose casually passing someone their insta or snap address during a real convo)

Maintain a collection of known-fake bio text, private message text, etc and use automation to scan accounts for that text, and varients of that text.

I joined scout to chat online. They disabled my account and did not explain a valid reason.

Yeah I would give this site a hard pass.
I have to say it's not a nice site at all.
Met a horrible person on there who was insulting, threatening and rude.
Lots of profiles on it with no photos and people sending d*** pics.
I've been using dating sites on and off for quite awhile and this is my worst experience yet in such a short amount of time.
The reviews of Skout is very "telling" and I would tread with caution.

I made my account end of February, I’m 18 ended up deleting it. People hit you up so fast especially guys all different ages hit me up that’s site crazy all I have to say be careful.

App sucks you have a better chance in real life
