Didn’t need to use the policy but glad to have it

Found this company via a Google search after being quoted nearly £100 by my rental company to cover the £1500 excess on a 7 day hire, ( after their usual scare tactics of showing you how even the tiniest dent or mark on on the body work can result in this being payable). The online purchase of the simply excess policy was a breath of fresh air so simple and easy to complete in a matter of minutes. Then when I needed to extend my rental by 2 days it couldn't be any easier to extend my cover via the online portal, £5 for 2 days extension and it took me all of 2 minutes to do. I can't comment on the claims procedure as I didn't need to claim but reading other comments it seems that is straightforward and very professional as well, will definitely use them every time I rent a vehicle from now on.

Loved this website, so easy to use, lots of useful advice to make your car hire worry free and regular meaningful communication throughout the process. And last but not least very easy on the pocket. Definitely our go to in future.

Hard to fault. I paid for my excess insurance and unfortunately incurred a minor dent on my hired car whilst in Crete. I contacted Simply excess on the day after my turn filled in the claimed form and had claim accepted within 24 hours. 2 working days later the amount was forwarded to my bank account. Excellent saved me approx £400.

I used Simply Excess quite a few times because of their competitive pricing and comprehensive insurance policy. I never left a review until when I recently had to claim due to damage to my hire car after hitting a big pothole. My previous experience with insurers is that they always find a reason not to pay. This was not the case with Simply Excess. The claim process was very straightforward: I just had to submit a copy of the invoice from the hire company and a photo of the damaged car. The day after I submitted the claim I got an email saying that it had been approved and received the money in my bank account 2 days later - no questions asked!
I will definitely be using Simply Excess for my next trips and would recommend them to anyone

Given all the positive reviews on here I'm sorry to say I had a very different experience. Yes it was very much cheaper than buying cover from the car hire companies but that is where the good news ends. Budget Ireland (run a mile from them too) found a stone chip in the windscreen of the Nissan and kept an incredible 1200 Euros from my deposit. I made a claim. Firstly SimplyExcess didn't see my email for six days and only found it when I telephoned. They wanted to see an actual credit card statement to prove I'd paid the 1200 Euros even though I had a receipt for that from Budget. I had to wait several weeks until this was available from my bank. Meanwhile we had a jolly email back and forth as SimplyExcess somehow wanted ME to get copies of repair or replacement estimates from Budget but Budget refused to send me anything other than the receipt. Eventually SimplyExcess accepted that and once I was able to send them my credit card statement they did pay up within a few days. But I won't be renewing my cover with them.

Fortunately I did not have to make a claim, but the service/correspondence throughout the insured period was excellent

Very easy to complete on line. Great value and claim processed efficiently when I had a slight mishap.
