I started Set Forth NY after losing my mother in 2021. In the quiet months that followed, grief didn’t arrive loudly. It settled into everyday moments. Lighting a candle became a small, steady ritual not to fix the loss or make sense of it, but simply to stay present with what I was carrying. What began as something deeply personal grew into Set Forth NY. Not as a business idea first, but as a way of honoring presence, reflection, and the moments we move through quietly. The candles I make are not meant to perform or impress. They are meant to sit with you during transition, remembrance, or quiet joy. Set Forth NY is a New York–based candle company creating hand-poured, small-batch candles with care and restraint. Each scent is written like a memory, designed to evoke presence rather than overwhelm. I use clean, thoughtfully chosen materials and minimalist matte black vessels meant to live on long after the flame has passed. Everything I create reflects the same belief I started with: light does not disappear, even in hard or quiet seasons.
