Customer service in my local Wexford branch is shocking. While some employees are pleasant & helpful others could care less... Are grunts, indifference & the distraction of mobile phones the new "Hello/Please & Thank you" ???

We have made several purchases from screwfix Ireland 🇮🇪 and can only say their quality of service is absolutely brilliant from their delivered to click and collect.

We’ve also been to stores in Naas and Newbridge and their staff are excellent. Nothing is too much for them.

Any time we’ve had to make a return, no problem, all handled immediately without fuss or any argument

Absolutely shambolic customer service.

Called their contact centre to be sure an item had a specific piece on it before I ordered it. I was assured by the call center agent it did.

Placed order & went to collect first part which was ready the same day in their Ballymount store.

Inspected item before leaving the store & discovered, that the product did not come with the piece I needed.

Requested a refund. Was told this can't be done as I paid via Paypal & instead would get a credit note. I was also told that I can't cancel the 2nd part & would have to come back down days later to get a credit note for that then too.

Explained I called specifically to check the product was correct before I ordered & that I would not be accepting a credit note, as their website & their agent gave me the wrong information.

The lady said the refund for the first part would be in my account later that day - March 1st.

Its now March 8th - still no refund & second product on order is still not here.

Called UK call center again. Explained above. Was now told that I was again given incorrect info about the refund process & I would have to wait until the next part arrives & then they would see about a refund.

Agent kept talking over me as I tried to explain the issues. No accountability being offered & tried to tell me it takes 7 working days for a Paypal refund to go through which is incorrect.

Finally, after asking the agent what re-assurances they could give that I would get my refund, given that no notes were placed on the account & no refunds were issued to date, he agreed to take ownership of the issue & said that he will follow up on it, cancel the remaining order when it arrives in store & issue the refunds. No bear in mind - he literally finished this with "if he has time".

Absolutely appalling service from the start.

I hope the phone calls are pulled & used as a training guide in how not to interact with customers.

Good prices, wide range of goods, detailed descriptions, good delivery ... very happy with my purchases to date .. you do need to be prepared to wait .. and I haven't had to do any returns yet .. very happy so far

Flat drill bits straight from the packet with a 1mm radius on the cutting edges. Really. Sack the buyer or quality manager or both if necessary. A blot on the Screwfix brand. Cannot believe what rubbish I have just purchased! Photos available.

Becoming a joke of a service. Last 4 times I have tried to purchase something in both the Athlone store and Tullamore stores the item does not be in stock. I'm talking about small fittings and the like. Its cant be too difficult to stock a few of each small item. Great store if you have 4 to 5 working days to wait for them to get item in for u, but pointless if you need item in a hurry.

This is to warn people about the customer service,
They say they will respond to the email you send within 3 days, after waiting for a working week i have sent a further email to ask why no response to my refund request earlier and still no reply.
Be warned of the shoddy service.

Excellent customer service from both the Malahide Road and Feltrim business parks today. Staff couldnt have been nicer or more helpful

Excellent service again, used screwfix a feew times and items were exactly as described, would highly recommend

Screwfix is always my go to place for DIY great prices all round and selection a lot better then others.

However the customer counter service in store is abysmal. It seems every time I go to collect an order there is nobody at the counter or one person there doing something else.

You can hear other staff in the background having a laugh and dossing when there are customers waiting to be look after and the other person that is on the counter seems not bothered to let the others know there is a Q!!!

Again great prices but customer service and operations need looked at in their stores here in Dublin.

Ordered 2 garage storage units. Units were relatively easy to assemble and they look and feel fit for purpose. The main reason I have submitted this review is that the service I received from Vicky was first class. So often nowadays you are met at service counters by indifferent and unhelpful staff. Vicky, however, went above and beyond to help, even offering to take my goods out to the car. She is a real asset to Screwfix and reinforces my confidence in this Sprotbrough store in particular where, as a rule, service is very good. Thank you Vicky

Ordered an item online for store collection. Said it would take 3-4 working days. 10 working days later no sign of it. Rang them and was told it was going to take another 5 working days and that "someone should have been in touch to explain what happened" and that there are long delays for stuff coming into Ireland. Unacceptable lack of communication and I will be looking elsewhere in the future.

I bought a DeWalt impact driver a few months ago online. Got a great service. Unfortunately, it stopped working recently. I called customer service and then took it into the Galway branch. I was dealt with by a very pleasant and helpful member of staff who arranged a replacement. Overall, an excellent service! It's not my first purchase from screwfix and won't be my last.

I visited a large new Screwfix store which recently opened in Ballymount. Was very surprised to find only a small public area and an Argos-style service - no chance to look at goods. From the computer screen, I decided to make a small purchase (less than €10). 3 sales points were open, but only 1 was accepting payments by card. I chose to pay by cash, and they wanted full name, eircode and telephone no before starting the transaction. When I declined this, a supervisor was called to allow the cash transaction to happen anonymously. It then took more than 5 minutes for my purchase to brought to the counter.
Click & collect looks like the only sensible way to buy from this company.

Made two orders for delivery recently and both came in fewer than the quoted 5 working day delivery period.
There's no doubt that Screwfix had issues with timely deliveries up until recently but in my view they have really upped their game.

my order never came (got damaged in transit twice 🙄) and didn't get the refund

I had an on-line account with Screwfix and have bought lots using it in order to renovate my own home and also to maintain, refurbish and improve my rental properties. I also buy items to use in a special school where I work and make things with my students.

Several months ago, I was disgusted to find an adhesive product called “Sticks Like S**t” on Screwfix’s website. (Except their final word includes the letter ‘h’. I can’t put that here as Trustpilot quite rightly deems it be inappropriate language, even with the asterisk). I emailed screwfix to ask why one earth they would have such a vulgar, coarse and foul-languaged product for sale. I pointed out that I would not want my rental property families or their children seeing a product like that in my mastic gun and certainly not at the school where I work where we do our best to discourage bad language and vulgarity. I mean…..WHY have a product with that name? Do Screwfix think their client base are all coarse, vulgar clods who will find that appealing? Or, heaven forbid, amusing?

I received a reply from Screwfix which said that “it’s a popular product which sells”. That was it.

Yesterday, I came to place another order at Screwfix on-line, including glue, decorator’s caulk, some tools, a heat gun etc. Once again, I was presented with this disgustingly-named product. I emptied my shopping basket and went to Toolstation and my local independent builder’s merchant and spent over £200 with them instead.

I have since phoned Screwfix and asked them to cancel my account and, under GDPR regulations, erase all my data from their servers. I won’t ever buy anything from Screwfix again. The person I spoke to to request this didn’t even ask why….

When I go shopping for property maintenance items, tools and all the things which are sold in many other outlets, I do NOT expect to see disgustingly-named products like this. I am happy to pay more, if necessary, to buy elsewhere and, as I explained to customer services, price is NOT everything.

I’m finished with Screwfix and, only this evening, spent £169 on a stainless steel sink for one of my properties…NOT bought from Screwfix. I’m finished with them

NOTE: I posted this review several days ago. No response whatsoever from Screwfix. Not even the generic, please email SOS Screwfix etc. I see from the responses that Screwfix waxes eloquently when the review is praising them, but when criticising them it’s always the generic response or, in my case and others, no response at all. This confirms my decision not ever to purchase from them again.

Still not a peep from Screwfix here. Not even the generic one. I’m very disappointed as I was looking forward to their explanation (on a public forum) of why they stock a product with a disgusting, unappealing name.

This evening I paid £305 for a Franke sink for one of my rental properties. NOT with Screwfix again
