Scottish Kilt Arvostelua 

I ordered a custom dress from Scottish Kilt and the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The garment arrived nothing like advertised: the tartan color was noticeably different from the Fraser Modern swatch shown online, the fabric was scratchy and uncomfortable, the straps were constructed improperly, and the bodice was so low that my bra was fully exposed. The pleating was rigid and stuck out in the back, and the dress arrived in damaged, inadequate packaging.

Despite clearly stating in writing that the chest area was exposed and the garment was not appropriate to wear in public, Scottish Kilt repeatedly requested full‑length photos of me wearing the dress. I emphasized multiple times that this was embarrassing and violated my privacy, yet they continued to ask for more photos. It was an unprofessional and inappropriate request considering the nature of the issue.

Across numerous emails, Scottish Kilt repeatedly implied that a refund “could” or “would” be issued. However, each time I formally requested one, they avoided providing return instructions and refused to actually process the refund. Instead, they insisted on remaking the dress or sending replacement straps, contradicting their own return policy for custom items that are not as described.

In the end, I had to escalate the matter through Affirm and my financial institution. This resulted in multiple charge and reversal transactions that took significant time and attention to resolve — none of which should have been necessary if Scottish Kilt had simply honored the refund policy they advertise.

The product quality, the repeated requests for inappropriate photos, and the refusal to process a legitimate refund created an unnecessarily stressful experience. Based on this, I cannot recommend Scottish Kilt.

This shop is a rip-off! On their website, you’ll see a “money-back guarantee.” It’s a lie. They’ll send you inferior crap, when you complain, they’ll offer you $10 back. If you protest, they’ll offer to fix the issue, if YOU pay more than the junk cost to send it back to Pakistan.

I got a sporran from them. The snap failed the FIRST TIME I opened it. All I get from them is a run-around.

RUN! Do your business with a domestic partner you can trust. If it costs more, it’s the best investment you can make in not having headaches with these crooks.

I ordered from them, the didnt have items so they offered to cancel the order I agreed then 2 weeks later the got the material and decided against their offer to refund me. They shipped the items and the material was the wrong pattern. I canceled through credit card. Virginia office number is no good could only communicate through email.

Total SCAM! I ordered products. Paid extra to speed production. Was told it was shipped USPS. When it did not show up, checked USPS tracking number which proved to be invalid. Contacted customer service. Was told they’d investigate. They stopped replying to my inquiries, including ten weeks after my order when I asked for a refund. Total SCAM!

The ties I ordered were great, but customer service and delivery dreadful. They took 4 months to send the order, customer service lied to me multiple times, and only when I threatened to get my credit card company to backcharge the order and gave them 7 days to deliver it did it get to me. I won’t be ordering from them again - best to avoid. There are far better makers on Etsy from Pakistan, who will negotiate on price so their ties are cheaper, they’re as good quality if not better, and customer service is excellent. Go there but choose carefully there too!

Never got my merchandise I ordered. Never received a confirmation, run !!! Fake company

Final update: if I could give a 0 I would. Informed them of the day that I absolutely needed it which is tomorrow. These were ordered back on March 19th today is July 16th. USPS says maybe arrive next week. Not even sure they will be correct. Like I stated earlier look at other vendors.

Update: They have reached out to try and make corrections will update after.
BUYER BEWARE, I would suggest shopping around first before ordering. Not sure where to start, apparently if they do it correct the first time you are golden if they don't you are out of luck.

Ordered on March 11th received order June 4th (yes three months). Order was missing two items one of the items I was told was no longer available even thro still on website they are refunding the cost, the other item is supposed to be shipped.

Next they sent the wrong size shoe even having confirmed the size the day of ordering in separate email as of writing is still working on solution.

Ordered two Prince Charlie Jackets delivered with wrong lapel facing, their only solution to just refund facing cost. So now I have two jackets hand made to THIER specifications, not mine. These jackets will not match the other members jackets due to their mistake. Now I am left with trying to find another company that can do the jackets correctly and pay for them AGAIN. But I must say the kilts look fantastic.

So I would shop around and find a company that guarantees their work.

Ordered a fly plaid that said "in stock" with the expedited shipping. A month later there is nothing. Customer service is just one lame excuse after another. Do not order from them.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM customer service does not exist after you pay. I ordered a Santa kilt ensemble, and they never shipped it. (Who lies and scams Santa?) I am trying to find someone who actually received their order…cannot find anyone. This may be a scam company. They have done nothing to fix the situation

This was my first Kilt order. I wish I had researched the company better. Customer service is quite lacking and communication is not their strong suit. I was ordering my kilt for an event and left plenty of room for delays ... or so I thought. After I had not received a notice of shipment the week before promised delivery I contacted the company and was assured it was in the "final stages" of preparation. At this point I was getting concerned knowing international shipping is typically 2-3 weeks based on my experience. I kept checking and after the initial delivery came up I emailed again with no reply. Again a couple days later and no reply. At this point I contacted another company and was assured of delivery of basically the same item in time. Literally as I am typing an email to cancel my order I get an email with a USPS tracking number. Knowing it had shipped I knew that a refund was off the table. Turns out there was a 2 week delay between the USPS tracking number being generated and USPS actually receiving the package. I assume that they generated the USPS shipping label when it was delivered to the international shipper, but I never got that information. I ended up getting the second order less than a week after I placed this initial order. Given they do not honor the love it or burn it policy they advertise, looks like I'm out on this order. The kilt itself is nice. Waist is slightly larger than my measurement ( unless they aim for the absolute tightest adjustment on the belts rather than midpoint), and it is slightly short, maybe a quarter inch. Glad I got the second kilt it fits much better. Finally, there was an item missing from my order. It was out of stock, but I was never notified. They just didn't ship it. The reason I'm giving 2 stars is that they were quick to respond to my email that I was missing the matching sporran and quickly received that refund.

Received the wrong sized kilt. After the initial 1 star review left on their site they responded to my emails. The customer service representative(s) insist that it was I who made the mistake. Even after showing them the pictures they requested proving that it was the wrong size. Now they do not want the unused incorrectly sized kilt back and state that to "Please also note that return shipping is normally the customer’s responsibility." And of course they will not refund the money for the purchase.

Absolutely horrendous customer service. I ordered 2 weeks ago today, and added $30 to "rush" the order. Normal shipping time is 3-4 weeks. The item has been sitting with a label created in Jamaica, NY for 9 day now. Fed Ex has yet to receive the item. They also claimed it's being shipped Fed Ex VAT to me, which was 100% a lie. It literally says on the Fed Ex tracking that it's Fed Ex GROUND. (Which is not rush, let alone VAT.) This company lies about rush orders. Not optimistic about what I'll eventually get as far as quality. After this, I don't have high expectations. I've requested the $30 back but they don't answer any messages on their "live customer service" chat box online. LOL Total Joke.

If I could give a zero star I would. I order a kilt and ersaid in my wife's family tartan that was supposedly "in stock", only to be notified that it was not actually in stock and was awaiting weaving. When ordering, I paid an additional $200 because this was not a "standard" tartan, on top of the cost of the kilt and ersaid. I specifically ordered from this company, even though they were more expensive than other similar quality manufacturers, because they were supposed to have the tartan available. I have since been waiting 8 months. I was told in December that the weaving was about to be completed and I should be receiving my order in a few weeks. Only to have that contradicted when I reached out a month later, still not having received my order. It's now 3 more months and still awaiting weaving. If you're order standard or limited universal tartans, this company may ne a good choice. But, if you're looking for something specific, you might as well weave it yourself.

I ordered items that it said would arrive in 2 weeks and paid $30 rush fees, because I needed them in 25 days and did not want to stress. They did not arrive in time for my family photo and have, in fact, NOT EVEN SHIPPED yet. I have reached out multiple times and have gotten form responses with no actual data. I asked for my order to be cancelled, since it has not shipped and I now do not need it- and have gotten nothing. The shipping label was created (in the UAE) but still nothing. I wish I had looked here at the reviews first! RUN- DO NOT ORDER!

Ordered a kilt in a tartan that was not in stock, fair enough they told me it could take an extra couple of weeks.
Over a year later, with no explanation to my questions for an update on my order I had to start a Section 75 claim with my bank to get my money back.
Avoid at all costs

I ordered a custom weave kilt with extra fabric. I provided a photoc of the tartan and the color and threadcount of the weave. What I received was off-the rack low quality fabric from Pakistan and not a match for the colors or threadcount. Return and refund was denied because it was a custom order. Support team is unresponsive.
