Most unprofessional hosting company I've ever dealt with. If you're looking for long-term hosting, don't bother wasting your time with scaleway. Don't trust them with your personal information, don't trust them to be reliable for hosting. They will find any reason to get your ID (even though they say it's optional).

I setup a server, and opened a ticket asking about merging both disks into a single volume. Their reply was "This isn't possible" (any linux user knows it is possible) that was the first red flag. Their support has no idea what they're talking about when it comes to server config.
The next day I get a random email saying they noticed an "inconsistency" in my account information that's a "security risk" and would require me to verify my ID.
the "inconsistency" is total bullsh**. My details are correct, and my credit card was verified days ago.

Ça fait deux fois en deux ans. J'avais un bon serveur dédié sous Linux chez Scaleway. En redémarrant le serveur tout à fait normalement, il tombe HS. Et l'équipe ne peut pas intervenir, car ils n'ont, soi-disant, pas accès à ces lames. Résultat : après un simple redémarrage, je perds tout. Seules solutions : remplacer le serveur ou me rembourser. Cette fois, j'ai opté pour le remboursement. Bien que le service client soit réactif, je suis très déçu de cette mauvaise qualité technique, qui fait perdre crédibilité et force à Scaleway.

Probably the worst provider I have ever used.

- When registering If you have a gmail account you can't register as a company.

- ID verification is not optional even though it says it is optional.

- Their ID verification software / plugin is garbage. It works somewhat okay on ios but on android it wasn't able to focus properly for me to take the photo.

- They can lock your service for no reason at any time. (e.g. if you don't provide ID verification)

Their purchasing system its so confusing, no VAT, no info that prices are ex,VAT, no information abut system configuration, once is installed its over, you can't get refund,
their support without any knowelage, response time in hours , copy paste messages,

In ticket #EIMA-3700-FNXV is has so far taken support 2 months to investigate a simple issue with an error restoring from their Object Storage service using UpdraftPlus (the largest backup software for WordPress).

No progress so far. They are still looking into it.

Their Object Storage server also has an SSL mismatch reported by UpdraftPlus, but it is still uncorrected.

Arnaque au KVM,
vous activer l'accès à distance depuis l'instance, et après vous devez créer des utilisateurs.
Attention de bien supprimer les utilisateurs et et de bien désactiver l'option Accès Distance, sinon vous vous retrouverez avec une facture hallucinante, sans pourvoir négocier quoique ce soit.
Rappel : 0,99€/heure donc 736€ /mois en plus de votre instance ou serveur !!
Et on ne vous prévient aucunement d'un quelconque dépassement ou facture 7fois plus que la normale !!
Bref, dès que je peux je m'en vais.

Loadbalancer en panne. L'équipe technique lance un diagnostic et reviens vous voir demain matin…
Inadmissible pour un fournisseur cloud.

Attention à l'utilisation de la fonctionnalité "KVM" qui est une belle arnaque organisée chez Scaleway (facturée 0,99€ de l'heure)
Si vous ne désactivez pas l'accès, tadaaaa à la fin du mois une facture de (0,99x24x30) => 700€ vous tombe sur le coin du nez.

I started my day well by accidentally deleting the block volume sustaining our production database. Thankfully the support team did everything they could and managed to save my day by restoring it in a timely fashion!

I signed up for this site as I needed a virtual Mac OS for a development course, and their rates were pretty good. After I signed up, I was greeted by a notice about "quotas" - the more that you verify about yourself, the more you would have access to. That's fair, so I provided and verified my credit card, and decided to not do the "optional - upload your state-issued identification" step, because that was just too far outside my comfort zone. I then saw I couldn't create any VMs because my "quotas" were too low.

I spoke with customer support and as it turns out, uploading state-issued identification is NOT optional, and all accounts are expected to do it to rent ANY virtual machine - even those that are only 0.10 Euro per hour. I don't appreciate that I was lied to about this being optional. If I knew from the get-go, I wouldn't have provided and verified my credit card. There are no options to remove my payment method, so I now have to rely on support to do that for me.

Don't waste your time. Sign up for a different site. If they lie to you about basic details, you shouldn't trust them with critical details.

Fairly okay experience with their S3 solution, it works although the user interface has some bugs.

Unfortunately not so good experience with their support. There was an issue with my credit card, but support could not provide me with any details. They asked me to do things which were not possible in their UI, repeated these questions multiple times and at one point changed their language from English to French.

While they were quick to reply, their replies were not helpful. I didn't feel like they were trying to help me, as much as try to meet some internal quota for ticket reply time. I was promised a reply from their "expert team", but I never got one.

Eventually I resolved the issue myself. It is still unfortunate the only two payment methods are either credit card or SEPA. I think competitors like Hetzner and DigitalOcean offer PayPal, so that should be the minimum, but others like bank transfer should also be possible.

I’ll keep it short. Signed up for their “pay-per-use” M1 mac. Used it for all of 2 hours total and left it alone. Tried deleting it only to find I had to wait at least a month. Tried removing my credit card from file only to find that you CAN’T remove your credit card on file if you have any service with them. A month later I got billed almost $100 CDN, nobody can explain to my why but apparently it’s “in the terms and conditions.” Filing complaint with the competition Bureau

We have Deployed the server and the owner added a Document for the verification.

After 12 hours, our server was suspended and they simply told, me it has been done by Trust and Safety team. we invite you to check the existing conversation.

I have asked them lots of times why did you reject the document. they never told rejection reason just they mentioned send us document once again.

Don't know why they providing service like this but I understood one thing and learned a lesson. CHEAP THINK ALWAYS GIVE CHEAP SERVICE

This company refuses to comply to GDPR requests for account closure and deletion.

worst experience DO NOT even think of trying it. They take hours to reboot the server, you cannot take snapshot. you cannot get any help from support. the ssh seems to be working few minutes ago with private key , askes password with no change in sshd config. their support is non existent. Takes almost an hour to install an ubuntu in a server haha they are joke in the name of cloud service provider

Online, devenu depuis Scaleway, héberge mon site et cekui de mon époux depuis plusieurs années. Pour le mien, n'étant pas une pro, je me suis servie en 2016 de Presence Builder, que Scaleway propose parmi d'autres options, (payantes) pour la création de sites internet. Cela a marché jusqu'à l'automne dernier, où Presence Builder n'a plus fonctionné : impossible dès lors d'accéder à mon site afin d'y faire des mises à jour. Le service technique a ouvert un ticket, mais n'a rien pu faire, le dernier technicien que j'ai eu me disant que Presence Builder était obsolète... Bref, je leur ai écrit en leur signalant qu'ils m'avaient facturé 43 € Presence Builder pour un abonnement d'un an en date d'Avril 2021. J'attendais de leur part au moins le remboursement d'une partie de mon abonnement, non fournie par eux. Et voilà ce qu'ils me répondent en date d'aujourd'hui : "Nous comprenons la situation évoquée, néanmoins nous sommes navrés de ne pouvoir donner suite à votre demande, du fait de l'ancienneté de la facture..." La facture concernant un abonnement payé annuellement, je ne peux que confirmer les avis précédents, cette société ne s'intéresse pas à ses clients, et a des pratiques à la limite de l'honnêteté. A fuir.

What the status page report leaves out is that all of the "anomalies" were actually servers killed by what I can only assume to be a power surge of some sort.
After a 26 hour delay I was finally told by support that my server was dead with no recovery possible, or at least, no recovery that they were willing to do.

In return, they gave me a refund for the month of February, and that was it.

edit: In addition, when withdrawing my server from service they failed to cancel an added charge that was directly tied to the server.
Despite my request, they refused to cancel the invoice.

Do NOT give this company a chance.

if i could i would give them 0 stars. scammers they close accounts for no reason, they want to send them copies of an identity document. if you want to know about the reason for closing your account. it doesn't suit

Client depuis plus de 15 ans je ne peux que me rendre à l'évidence, le service n'est pas à la hauteur. Tant que ça fonctionne, rien à dire mais dès que les problèmes arrivent, plus personne pour vous aider réellement.

Pas de documentation à la hauteur, clients méprisés, même quand ce sont de véritables professionnels de l'informatique, service facturation très compliqué à joindre, ... Bref à recommander uniquement aux véritables pros.

Scaleway propose des serveurs mais soyez bien c0nscients que c'est à vous de tout gérer et qu'en cas de problème technique vous vous retrouverez probablement seuls ! Dommage car à part ça les tarifs sont corrects mais on sait pourquoi.

Je suis client depuis plus de 10 ans...
Les serveurs dédiés s'installent facilement et sont abordables.
Par contre on sait pourquoi c'est abordable : les serveurs tombent en panne en moyenne tous les 2 ans, et c'est "débrouillez vous, vous n'aviez qu'a faire des sauvegardes".
Je suis un peu d'accord, mais quand un serveur a un problème d'alimentation, ou de carte mere, il est théoriquement possible (normalement) de récupérer les données... mais parmi l'equipe du support, personne ne veut prendre la peine de vous aider.
