My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our soap-making day with Ruth. The 3 hour session was incredibly interesting, practical and lots of fun. We learned loads and have lots of takeaways for trying the process at home. We are looking forward to using the wonderful, coloured and scented soaps we made when they are ready in a few weeks. A fab day and highly recommended. Thank you Ruth! 😀

Had a great day with Ruth on a soap making course. Two of us had booked on a friends day session, with lots of time to hear about the history and methods of making soap as well as making 3 batches of our very own. Lovely calm and relaxing day in beautiful surroundings with a very knowledgeable teacher.

I recently attended Ruth’s soap making course. She was a good communicator, friendly and informative. I enjoyed meeting and working with the other people in the group to produce some lovely soap which we got to take home at the end of the day. The course was lots of fun and I would highly recommend it.

I had a 1-2-1soap making session with Ruth on Saturday and it was everything I was hoping it would be and more. Ruth has a really disarming quality about her communication style and made me feel at ease as soon as I arrived at her beautiful private studio. We chatted about all sorts as well as really getting under the hood of the soap making process. We focused on swirling and exfoliating techniques as well as base soap batter making. I really enjoyed myself and I thoroughly recommend Ruth. Thanks again 🙏

Fantastic day learning how to make soap at Ruth’s soap making workshop.i now feel confident in working with lye. We also got to bring home a lovely box of our home made soaps which was a lovely bonus.

A well presented, well-run course and I came home with lots of lovely smelling, natural soaps afterwards which was a nice treat.

I originally came across Ruth after seeing a Facebook advertisement and bought her book, 'How To Make Natural Soap'. Ruth delivers courses and I recently attended a one to one, one day course for cosmetics business and natural skincare. The whole day was a fun experience, with theory in the morning and hands on making products in the afternoon. Ruth was very knowledgeable and gave information and guidance on the business side of things. In the afternoon I made bath bombs, lip balms, cleansing balms and a body butter using Ruth's recipes. I was made to feel very welcome and able to learn in a calm and lovely environment. My car smelt beautiful on the way home. I am looking forward to attending the soap making course and buying Ruth's second book. This course has helped me enormously in making natural skincare products to support my business. I would highly recommend attending any of the courses. Thank You

My wife & I did Ruth's course last weekend. It was a perfect introduction to what had previously been a mystery to us. Ruth explained the basics without confusing us with too much chemistry. All important safety aspects were well covered. Following her demonstration we were able to successfully make two of our own batches of soap. We now look forward to putting this newly learnt skill into practise.

My second course with Ruth which I enjoyed as much as the first. We spent the day in Ruth's workshop which had lovely views over the Cheshire Hills. It was very informative and Ruth was happy to answer other questions related to making skin care products which were different from what we made on the day. I was with Sona, who I didn't know before the course, and it was really interesting chatting to her, as even though she works in the industry she had never made any skin care of her own. So between Ruth & Sona I learnt alot, which is what a course is about! The bonus was to take home the products we made on the day, lip balms, a cleansing balm, whipped body butter and bath bombs. A really enjoyable day. Thank you Ruth and also Sona!

I attended cosmetic making course. Due to cancellations from others, Ruth had to change the venue to her home studio, which was stunning. Imagine making anhydrous cosmetics which are free of preservatives while drops of rain hitting the roof and having view of mountains, plants and greenery. Ruth also managed to help me to get in touch with Jane who kindly offered to give me a lift to her studio as I already purchased my train tickets. Jane and myself enjoyed the course very much, it was only two of us, we were able to ask questions and Ruth gave us answers to everything and shared personal tips and tricks. We made 3 lip balms, whipped body soft butter, body cleanser, 2 bath bombs and few small fizzies in paper cups. Ruth was knowledgable, friendly and I would recommend this course if you are interested in natural cosmetic making. And bonus I have a new friend Jane with whom we agreed to meet soon and share photos when we create more cosmetics. Thank you very much Ruth 🩷

An excellent, hands-on course, which we found illuminating. The wonderful view of the hills in the distance made it even more enjoyable and therapeutic. Ruth is a wonderful tutor and was very happy to answer all our different questions.

Excellent day with Ruth and some lovely like minded ladies making soap and shampoo bars. The day was a great mix of the science behind soap making, practical demonstrations and then time to make our own. Definitely worth the money and I will recommend it to friends and family.

I thoroughly enjoyed participating in the soap making course with Ruth. It was both interesting and informative hearing about her own journey as well as the basic chemistry and history of soap making, which was all very concise. Ruth made the process so simple, first giving us a comprehensive demonstration and making us feel confident enough to carry out the steps with gentle supervision and clear written instructions. ( great to receive an email with a really detailed set of instructions in advance of the session too) It was a fun and relaxing atmosphere and she was on hand to answer any questions and give us handy hints and tips. It was also lovely to add embellishments to our soaps and experiment with different essential oils and natural colours; the entire room felt like a spa! I would definitely do another course led by Ruth.

Excellent course. I really enjoyed it. Ruth is very friendly and has an in-depth knowledge of the soap making process and business. It was interesting to learn about the history and theory of soap making, as well as gain hands on experience. I came away with lots of useful tips, handouts and some beautiful handmade soaps. I am excited to make more. I fully recommend this course to anyone who is interested in learning how to make hand made cold-pressed soaps from scratch.
