Beyond disgraceful experience with Robert Dyas, whom until now always regarding as a decent store.
However they’ve become another (just like b&q) sales site listing items on behalf of

I spent close to £700 on a Sandstone water feature.
Due to suffering with a life limiting stage 4
disease and being in constant extreme pain. I wanted to make the most of my garden and some form of tranquility.
I stumbled across this sandstone tranquility water feature and of course on the advert it looked lovely.
Prior to ordering with Robert Dyas I emailed to confirm the water sump was internal so no digging up (something else I can no longer do due to my declining health).
The item arrived on a crate and dumped in middle of street and the driver refused to use his trolley to help us move the stone ball any further into my home or garden.
He rushed me into signing a piece of paper scuttled off when he could clearly see I was disabled due to my rollator and adapted bungalow where I live.
Thankfully two very very kind men unwrapped the pallet and with a lot of difficulty were able to remove the EXTERNAL SUMP and the 60kg ball of stone still wrapped off crate.
They took great care rolling it on top of a wool blanket all the way down my garden path and into the garden. I truly believe the crate and rock would be still there blocking the street and it not been
for these kind men. No where on the Robert Dyas website did it state the weight of the item.
Then came the biggest disappointment upon unwrapping the ball of stone it became apparent it was terribly badly damage. Now it takes a lot for me to complain about material goods, usually I just accept things and don’t make a fuss.
However the damage was huge great scuffs, multiple long 20 inch scratches, deep gauges, marks of red, blue and huge amounts of black dye that won’t come off.
The stone looked nothing at all like the advertisement where it appeared polished it was dull and unattractive.
I bought this with my 40th birthday money as a ‘special treat’ as I was obviously too unwell to have a party or do anything much to celebrate.
I contacted Robert Dyas to complain immediately, they gave me 3 options - partial refund (but no amount stated), collect and exchange or refund. But the issue with the latter is it’d be physically impossible for me to prepare the item for collection due to my inability to life or barely move.
So I replied stating I’d “initially would like to discuss and NEGOTIATE a partial refund” however they just refunded me a measly £69!!!! Which is beyond an insult and less than it cost to buy the Thank you gifts for the neighbours for their help in getting it properly delivered.
At no point did anyone from
Robert Dyas ask if £69 was acceptable…. If they had id have said no immediately and told them to collect and

I’m beyond disgusted and will be taking this further, I will not let it drop even if I have to take them to court and it is the worse experience I’ve ever had with any company in my entire life. As if I don’t have enough to worry about regarding my health I’ve now got this £700 revolting lump of sandstone rock sat on my door mat. I was lied to from the very beginning, even if I did keep it I’d have to pay even more to get someone to dig up my newly turfed garden to fit it.

After contacting them again today for a refund. Just had an email saying it was out of stock and they couldn't get it to DPD. Don't purchase from Robert Dyas .

Terrible experience
Ordered a parasol. Promised 2 day delivery, it took 4 days. When it arrived it was not as described and terrible quality. Customer services said it would be collected and a refund issued. Nobody has contacted to collect the goods and Robert Dyes will not issue a refund until it has been returned. Awful service. Online ordering a shambles, very unhappy.

They completely washed there hands of it, telling me to dispose it myself (knowing I didn't have a car!) and didn't offer any compensation to pay for someone else to dispose if it and box was very heavy! I was disgusted with their dismissive attitude and suggest you look elsewhere as they use dodgy suppliers.

Ordered a specific fan for the heatwave that was the only delivery date for a a specific day I needed, paid extra for both the fan and delivery, only to be told on the day of delivery it could take up to a extra week for delivery.
Customer service is also absolutely useless, avoid like the plague.

Used this supplier previously and had good service. HOWEVER the service this time has been shocking. Incorrect items delivered so contacted customer service immediately expecting a quick resolution, despite numerous calls and E mails still no sign of the items I ordered. I am now being told that the items will be delivered in 2 1/2 weeks time, lost all with in this company and will look elsewhere in future. My advice based on my experience is AVOID!

Garden pot broken on delivery, still waiting for refund over a month. Numerous e-mails and phone calls. Thought it would be better to phone and speak to a human because I was not getting anywhere with e-mails and suspected I was being replied to by a robot but the customer services representitives on the telephone have all been completely useless and do not seem to understand anything that's going on.

What seemed an easy task was buying a bed online from Robert Dyas... what a mistake that turned out to be. I was given a delivery date of 14 April, I had to email them to let them know that I couldn't take delivery then as I was on holiday. They said that they couldn't change the date of delivery as they don't control delivery dates. On 30th March, I got a message saying that the bed would be delivered on 31st March. Took day off and waited, no bed! Phoned DX who were supposed to be delivering it and they informed me that they hadn't taken receipt of the bed yet. I was told to phone them back next day as they would contact bed manufacturer and the lady told me to contact Robert Dyas. I did was offered 10% off next purchase... I told them that I was going on holiday on 3rd April and they said bed would probably be delivered the next day. Another day off! No bed! phoned DX again and they still didn't have the bed to deliver. So phoned Robert Dyas again who told me that the bed was still at the manufacturers and she offered me a refund. I will never use this company again and I am surprised it is still in business as this seems to be an ongoing result for many of it's customers. Shocking way to run a business!

We ordered a shed and was advised it would be delivered to our house NO LATER than 4th March so my wife stayed in all day. Nothing arrived and not a single phone call to up date us. They just say "You will receive an email" Who sits starring at their emails all day?
We have now received an another email from them stating it could be delivered today or tomorrow, 5th or 6th. Terrible customer service. Don't offer a service you cannot provide.
* UPDATE. The delivery slot 3 days late has also been missed and we are STILL WAITING. 3 days missed from work and no offer of compensation. I would advise people to go. elsewhere
*** UPDATE, we are now over £1,000 out of pocket for missed work and after using my valuable time to call “customer services” we have now been told it will be here at 6PM !!! AND THATS AFTER RECEIVING TRACKING NOTIFICATION WE WERE THE NEXT STOP AT 11.42AM.
*** UPDATE, As expected one again the shed never arrived, no phone call from the couriers or Rober Dyas for an update. We are now waiting to see if our NEXT DAY DELIVERY purchase on 28/02 will arrive on 7/3/26 and if anyone from Robert Dyas ACTUALLY gets in touch to give us an update. My toaster failed after 14 months and customer services informed me that the product was outside their 1 year guarantee period. They referred me to Swan but they referred me back to Robert Dyas because the product is exclusively supplied to them and not covered by their 2 year guarantee. Even having supplied me with a special reference number Robert Dyas refused to accept responsibility.
Delivery Is Deplorable
So, having purchased an electrical item form Robertdyas we were informed DPD, was their chosen courier. They only.give a hr delivery slot so we waited in all day in anticipation. Sometime after 20:00 the DPD tacking system removed "delivery today" comments with some comments about they couldn't deliver and would be next day. However, during out notified delivery time slot we received an message saying they tried to deliver with an image of "the wrong house", not even in the same area. We now have to waste yet another day waiting on another committed delivery day.
We were considering a large garden item from Robertdyas but from this exceptionally poor service, we're looking elsewhere. We realise it's DPD issue but it's Robertdyas chosen courier.

Misleading information on the website. Don't rely on what you see about in stock. They blame it all on their suppliers. They don't like giving refunds. They try and get you to claim for it. This the first and last time of using this company.
