We recently stayed at Rest + Wild. Lovely views and peaceful. Comfortable bed and hot shower on day 2. Fire pit is nice. Beautiful part of the country and friendly people at the farm - super nice.

However, there are a few points which could have improved our stay:

Access to the cabin is difficult when it’s been raining as it’s just pure mud down the tracks. Very muddy which gets everywhere especially with a dog.
We couldn’t use the bath as the water was not warm.
Be good if there was a bannister for the steps as you go up and down as it was treacherous especially with the rain and ice.
The wines in the fridge were very expensive and you had to pay if you wanted them.
Be nice if there was a proper welcome box as makes a huge difference however small- (I know there was a jar of marshmallows and a pint of milk).
The usb socket didn’t work.

We recently stayed at Rest + Wild in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales, and overall had a really lovely and memorable break.

The setting is absolutely stunning breathtaking scenery in such a picturesque and peaceful location. It truly feels like a proper escape. Our cabin was beautifully finished and thoughtfully designed, and having a room with such an incredible view made it even more special. The bed was super comfortable with gorgeous bed linen, which made for very restful nights.

We also really appreciated the sustainable products provided they smelt amazing and it was a nice touch that you have the option to purchase them. Although you’re completely switched off from the world (which is kind of the whole point!), we did still have enough phone signal to make calls if needed, which felt reassuring in case of emergencies. It really does achieve what it sets out to do — creating connection and space without the distraction of technology.

There are some lovely walking routes nearby, and the amenities provided are more than enough for a few days away.

A couple of things we feel could be improved. Accessibility to the cabin in bad weather could be difficult and potentially unsafe, a clearer or more secure path would make a big difference. We also noticed some dog hairs around the windows and on the rug, which wasn’t ideal on arrival.

Unfortunately, the outdoor tub didn’t have running water until our last night, which was disappointing as it’s such a key feature of the experience. When we raised this, communication was quite slow and the issue wasn’t resolved promptly, which slightly impacted our stay.

That said, we genuinely had a lovely time and would recommend Rest + Wild. With just a few small improvements, it really could be perfect.

We have stayed with Rest + Wild twice now, both over Christmas; once in the Wren in Shropshire, and recently The Harestail in Exmoor. We absolutely loved both stays, but having stayed in one before that was 10/10, we couldn’t help but compare it to our recent stay.

We paid approximately £725 for 3 nights, including £25 for a dog. This was similar to that of The Wren in Shropshire. The Wren had a few more touches to the cabin which was nice, such as angostura bitters and dried orange slices which the Harestail did not. This isn’t a problem, but was just something we noticed being in a position to compare the two.

When we arrived at The Harestail, there was a note to say that on the table there was a complimentary bottle of wine, marshmallows, diffuser and bath oil. All very nice amenities, however we hadn’t actually been given any bath oil. We let the Rest + Wild team know and they apologised so all is well, but now we had nothing for the outside bath. (The bath was very nice with good temperature, even in 50mph winds! and it filled up quickly).

We later went to cook and found an old pan that hadn’t been cleaned in a while. It looked like pasta sauce and was covered in white/ green fluffy mould. We left the pan out on the table when we left with a note to let the cleaners/owner know what we had found. It didn’t ruin our stay at all, but it disappointed us a little considering the price paid, and that it was the second thing we had come across that lacked attention to detail.

Because of the above findings, things that usually wouldn’t bother us started to bother us as it seemed like a small list was forming of things that lacked attention to detail.

For example, if you bring a dog a charge of £25 is added to the bill. In our cabin, there were mud slashes up the walls in the bathroom and kitchen area where it looked like a dog had shaken. We are understanding that things won’t always be perfect, but we were left wondering why a £25 extra cleaning fee is applied if the cleaning effort isn’t matched. The website also mentioned a dog bowl would be provided, but in the case of our stay, one wasn’t. This wasn’t a problem as we brought our own, but just another point about attention to detail.

I mentioned above that we had contact with Rest + Wild team during our stay. I didn’t get a name, but they responded to WhatsApp messages quickly and appropriately, even on Christmas Eve. One point however was that after reporting a missing shoe, they never got back to us to let us know an update as to whether it had been handed in or found like they said they would. We understood this as that it meant that it hadn’t been handed in, but it would have been better to receive a confirmation message.

Our experience above isn’t to deter people from staying in the cabins; we genuinely had an amazing time, were able to completely switch off and relax, and enjoy the peace and quiet. It is just to offer some constructive feedback to help future people have a seamless stay.

We have just stayed in the Yorkshire Rest +Wild and it was amazing. The cabin is situated up in the trees with a fabulous view out over the countryside. The cabin is of the highest quality. We stayed four nights and could have happily stayed longer.

We recently stayed at Rest + Wild and it was one of the most relaxing and memorable experiences we’ve ever had. The cabin was beautifully designed with so much attention to detail — from the super comfortable bed and soft linens to the cosy wood burner. We had one of the best night’s sleep we can remember!

The setting is absolutely stunning, with peaceful views across the countryside. We especially loved the outdoor copper bath and fire pit, which made the evenings feel magical. Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully arranged to make our stay easy and enjoyable.

The whole experience felt like the perfect balance of luxury and nature. We came away feeling completely recharged and would highly recommend Rest + Wild to anyone looking for a peaceful escape. We can’t wait to come back!

The cabins are fantastic, especially the bed and bedding with views to die for. Our location perfectly matched the description provided. It was sufficiently remote but still with touches of luxury. Because of this it was easy to switch off, put daily distractions to one side and allow ourselves to slow down. Just perfect.

I recently stayed at Rest and Wild and absolutely loved my time there. I stayed in The Elm, which was a beautiful cabin with everything I needed for a perfect getaway. The cabin itself was spotless and so well thought out – a great shower, a really comfy bed, and all the little touches that make a stay feel special. The views from the cabin were just fabulous, the kind that make you want to slow down and soak it all in. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and honestly can’t wait to go back again. Highly recommend!

A fantastic weekend spent at Rest + Wild Exmoor. This was our first visit and had the pleasure of staying in Woodrush. Every little detail has been thought of for a relaxing weekend. The cabin is very well appointed from the Bed Linen to the Le Creuset Whistling Kettle. If you are looking for an opportunity to get away from it all, turn your phone off and just relax then this is the place for you.

Amazing cabin, lovely bed, loved cooking outdoors, outside bath was brilliant with plenty of hot water.
Relaxing Walk up the path passing all the other cabins, lovely little walk with no traffic or road noise
Pub is a bit far away but we did it. The abbey and tea rooms were a nice afternoon out. We had our two cocker spaniels with us who loved the location, very dog friendly relaxing break for us with no traffic, Great views but I’d like to see the nettles removed so you could wander down the valley a little.
5 star shower facility, actually the whole cabin was 5 star for me. Had a great weekend thanks very much.

The most beautifully thought through, tranquil place to retreat from the world. It’s both simple and luxurious at the same same time.

Very relaxing stay, the weather certainly helped!! My only criticism would be a small information pack in the cabin, just to let your customers know where everything is within the cabin. I appreciate keeping things simple by providing information online but sometimes hard copy works better. That said the quality of all the equipment is excellent we particularly liked the whistling kettle

Everything about the cabin has been thoughtfully chosen, from the bedding to the furnishings to the kitchen equipment. We spent a long weekend cooking on the fire pit and having long soaks in the huge copper bath. The views and the peace were unmatched. Thank you Rest and Wild, we’ll be back.

It was so quiet and peaceful and the view was breathtaking from our Woodrush cabin.

Really appreciate good quality bed linen, the diffuser scent, very comfortable bed, big windows, the fireplace, beautiful outdoors bath, and good lighting in the bathroom.

I love everything about The Rest and Wild—it’s truly amazing. The silence, the views, watching the birds and sheep, the sunrise, the hikes, and the cottage itself—it’s all just perfect. I highly recommend it as a wonderful escape.

We have just spent four nights in the Elm and it was the perfect reset. Laying in a hot bath with just the stunning views and the sound of the birds and the trees was so soothing and the cabin itself was perfect. I can’t recommend highly enough and we will definitely be back.

This was our second trip to R+W Yorkshire. Had a fantastic time. Lovely and peaceful. Nothing better than waking up in a forest surrounded by trees and nature. Cabins are beautiful and the bed was so so comfy. Hard to get out it !

We absolutely loved staying here for our 2nd visit. The cabin’s are spacious and equipped with everything you need. The view was amazing in the Willow. It’s incredibly relaxing and private in your own space. We had so many fun going on long walks with our dog then coming back to relax in the bath and cooking with the outdoor fire! The bed is incredibly comfy also! We loved it 😊

A truly fantastic few days away. We went to the Exmoor location for 2 nights and just cannot fault it. Extremely peaceful, beautiful cabin with gorgeous touches and even though we had poor weather it still felt really special. Great if you are looking to recharge or just be with nature for a while.

The team behind Rest and Wild are also brilliant. The guides on the area provided proved to be very helpful and we used them to plan a couple of nearby hikes. They answered any queries promptly and helpfully and went above and beyond to help.
