I said still I cancel my contract but he said still you pay the price he is so rude with me

Engineers were very professional and friendly. They kept me informed throughout the installation.

We installed our solar and battery system with Rest UK back in 2020. At the time, their service was responsive, and because they promised a comprehensive 30-year warranty, I even recommended them to other people. Unfortunately, that initial good impression did not last.
While we did eventually sort out a few post-installation issues after the first six months, major problems persisted:
Unresolved Bird Caging: We paid for bird caging, but it was done incorrectly, allowing pigeons to nest and wake us up at 5 AM. After two years of trying to get Rest to fix it, we gave up and hired another company. When the new company came out, they found six dead pigeons trapped inside. Zero issues since then.
Safety Concerns: During an independent audit of our home by a registered electrician for unrelated work, several installation safety issues stemming from Rest's original setup were flagged.
Dead Batteries & Warranty Denial: After noticing my batteries were completely dead after only 6 years, I contacted Rest for support. Their response without even coming out to inspect was simply that the batteries were "over discharged" and not covered under warranty.
Account Control & App Access: To make matters worse, Rest set up the system app so that they are the admin, leaving me locked out as a standard end-user with no control over my own system. When I asked about this, their support team told me to "reset my password," completely missing the point.
Ghosted Support: The installation manager messaged in 2024 stopped responding entirely, and phone calls over the last six months have gone nowhere.
While they have some pleasant staff members, the reality is that once you’ve signed up and paid, they simply do not care. The current installation manager lacks customer orientation, and their 30-year warranty feels meaningless when they refuse to honor it or investigate hardware failures.
I initially left a glowing review early on because I was asked to do so while the rep was still responsive—I wish I could take that back. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.

They were very good at installing the solar panels. They were very polite and professional. Ahmed Shafiq did a great job.

I initially had a very positive experience with REST. The salesman I dealt with was exceptional — very friendly, knowledgeable, professional and very good at his job. I was happy with the sales process and agreed to a contract.

However, the following day I found a far better deal elsewhere, so I decided to cancel the contract.

This is where my experience with REST became extremely disappointing.

The cancellation process was very poor, with almost no communication whatsoever. I repeatedly contacted the cancellations team and received automated replies saying that someone would contact me within 24–48 hours. Despite this, over a period of 19 days trying to get my deposit back, I never heard from anyone in the cancellations team.

Daryl was dealing with my refund, and despite chasing this, the refund took far longer than expected. Eventually, due to the lack of communication and failure to return my deposit, I had to go through my credit card provider to recover the money.

It's a real shame because the initial sales experience was excellent. Unfortunately, the experience after deciding to cancel was the complete opposite.

Thankfully, I found a much better deal before REST carried out the installation. Based on my experience with the cancellation and refund process, I would not recommend REST.

I informed Martin of Rest UK about previous issues I’d had with another installer, and he assured me their service would be different. We were told the office would contact us the next day to confirm our installation date, but no one contacted us for three days. After chasing again, we still received no communication for a further two days.

I cancelled the installation well within the 14‑day cooling‑off period (5 Days). Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, refunds must be issued within 14 days of cancellation. I requested the refund and provided my bank details. No refund was issued.

I have since spoken to several staff members. One, Michael, told me the refund was being processed, but as of today it has been over 21 days since cancellation and still no refund.

I have now issued a Letter Before Action and will be escalating the matter to HIES and my bank for an APP dispute investigation. Very poor communication and failure to meet legal refund obligations.

Update I have now received the refund.

Absolutely amazing team, very professional, trust worthy and really friendly. Answered all my questions quickly and simply without hesitation and put my mind at ease. Would recommend to everyone.

UPDATE:
I still stand by the comments on the actual panel installations by the solar engineers...but a month on, aftercare has not been great. I have had to chase the office to get the paperwork and certificate they thought they'd already sent ( now teceived) More worrying is that the Ellus Scaffolding team who set up and took down the Scaffolding have badly damaged at least 4 roof tiles and are doing NOTHING to solve the issue. I have raised itcwith REST, who the Ellis Scaffolding team assure me are also responsible as they subcontract from them. I'd quite like just one of them to reach out as right now I'm looking at a 1k repair bill because of sloppy scaffolding dismantlement. This has nothing to do with the solar panel installers,who were very good. Buy there shoukd be someone with the overview and more people in customer services as just ignoring my messages is not fair. I doubt anyone will take responsibility for this or refund me. Sadly as tge cracked and snapped off roof tiles are right by roof veluxwindows the roof is no longer watertight and I have to get it repaired this month.

This was my first review: Good comms from sales rep.. The solar panels and associated Fox app was good quality. Most reassuring of all were solar engineers Alex, Terry and Riley who were very hardworking and knowledgeable and worked flat out. They were proactive and sorted out a tricky install effortlessly. One suggestion I have is that it should be easier to contact the office direct

This issue has been borne out by recent events and failures to respond to requests for repairs etc.

CJ, Tom & George helped us out. Really great, friendly people and carried out their work efficiently.

We had a number of quotes though Aaron from Rest uk was the only one who came to our house and talk to us upfront rather than leave us to work out what we needed ourselves. I was impressed that the lead time (because they use European panels) was within a couple of weeks and the delay was organising the scaffolding. We have panels on both sides of our roof and 2 5KwH duracell batteries. The installation team were fabulous.
We were shown the apps to download and how to use them and even after installation Aaron answered questions we had which was fabulous.
We have had to solar panels and batteries now for 5 months and it has transformed our energy use. I think they will be paid off in less than the 11 years predicted. With getting paid for excess electricity our energy bills for june and july was £18 total, an average of £9.
Would totally recommend Rest, they
answer all questions and don't disappear

I had a very disappointing experience with Rest UK Solar.
Before my credit check was completed, Mr Anush asked me to transfer £1,000. I only transferred £250 on 16 July 2026. Unfortunately, my credit check was later declined.
Since then, I have been trying to get my £250 refunded. I have called the company many times, but nobody answers my calls. I have also sent three emails and have not received a single reply.
When I finally spoke to Ahmed, the representative who visited my home and gave the sales presentation, he said, "You were my customer, why did you speak to Anush?" I found this response very unprofessional because Anush was the person who contacted me regarding the credit check. I don't see how I could refuse to speak to another member of the same company.
Based on my experience, I feel the company has provided very poor customer service. I am still waiting for my £250 refund and have been ignored despite repeated attempts to contact them. I cannot recommend Rest UK Solar based on my experience.
