My daughter bought me a jar of Arran Hot Beetroot Chutney when she was in Arran and I LOVE it. I couldn't find it anywhere locally so ordered 6 jars from Real Foods. Despached quickly, very well packed & the sell by date is March 29. A good price plus the delivery charge was very reasonable. I'll certainly buy from Real Foods again.

Problem with website - no response to query - slow to process order.
I am not impressed with their email or phone support, it is better to go into the shop if possible.
I sent an email (see below in quotes) to 'webshop' at Realfoods on 22/09/2026 about the order I placed on their website on 20/09/2026 but to date did not get a response. I re-placed the order on 22/09/2026, they shipped it on 25/09/2026. A competitor I have now since used, ships the same or the next day and respond to queries.
"I placed an order on your website on Sunday as a 'guest'. The payment of the order went through OK on internet, but I never received a confirmation email from Real Foods. Since I have not heard anything by end of Monday, I only then created an account on the Real Foods website to try to see what is going on. To my surprise, the items I ordered on Sunday (when I did not have an account on the website) were listed in my basket !? I checked the order history and the account showed no orders at all. I also checked my credit card account and the payment had not been taken yet.
I called your helpdesk on Tuesday morning to try to find out if the order is being processed or not, but the guy I spoke to did not know and could not say, he said he would call me back. He did not so after roughly 40 minutes, I called Real Foods support again. The same guy then told me he could not reach me at my number (which I had been waiting at all the time), and that he could not find the order on the system.
I have now resubmitted and paid (again ?) for the items still in the 'basket', this time I took a screen shot. Order no. 477068.
I however noticed two issues.
1) The order I placed on Sunday cost £49.33. The same items now cost me £50.55. (I have the credit card payment confirmation texts for both transactions on my phone.)
2) I noticed this on Real Food website after the credit card company approved the payment: "Payment will only be taken when we are ready to dispatch the goods." This explains why it is not showing on my credit card account yet. To be clear, I do not want double the order, I want only one batch.
I have to say, as a long term customer of Real Foods who used to go to and buy from the shop in Edinburgh, I am not impressed with my first experience of buying via the website, or customer support. "

We are genuinely sorry that your first experience ordering through our website and contacting our support team fell short of the level of service you have come to expect from Real Foods. We can only apologise for the delay in getting back to your email.
We have investigated your order to see where we can make additional improvements in our checkout and we were able to confirm that only one order was placed and no duplicates were found. We also want to reassure you that payment is only taken at the point of dispatch. When you place your order, we take a card authorisation, which can sometimes look like a pending transaction in your account.
It is not uncommon for prices to change from day to day, especially as we provide lots of different discounts and deals which change daily, like our manager's specials.
We want to thank you for placing an order with us and providing your feedback. We really appreciated the opportunity to take on board your notes and create improvements and I hope we can restore your trust in us in the future.

Ordered 4 kg Roma tomatoes, took over a week to arrive, only half the amount arrived (no notification) and they where all totally ally rotten, they blamed the courier and took No responsibility at all.

Customer Service brilliant!
I wanted a product I can no longer buy locally, but because I am on an "offshore island" (only 3 miles from the mainland and normal charges apply with Royal Mail and many couriers!) the delivery charge was to be £14.50. I challenged this, as it was extortionate, and to their credit, someone from Real Foods rang me and said they would see what they could do. A week later I received an e mail to say the normal delivery charge would apply, and I received the ordered goods promptly after I placed my order. This sort of Customer Service is rare nowadays and needs to be celebrated. They have been assured of my continued custom, however rarely it will be.

Superb experience! Real Foods were very helpful to me, this being my first order from them. Goods were collected on the Friday and to my surprise the parcel was delivered on the following Monday morning.

Real Good Service from Real Foods
It was easy to find things I wanted on the website and then to complete the order. Real Foods kept me updated as they waited for stock of one item and then during the shipping process and then voila! the order had arrived before I knew it. Everything was well packed to avoid damage to anything and I was very happy!
