Bloomerang presents itself as a nonprofit-friendly platform, but our experience has been the opposite. The product feels unfinished in too many places, with outdated forms, confusing workflows, and basic functionality that requires far more effort than it should. We expected a system that would save staff time. Instead, the transition has created more work, more troubleshooting, and more dependence on support that rarely resolves the underlying concerns.

The sales process was especially disappointing. We were led to believe the platform would meet our needs more cleanly than it actually does, only to discover after signing on that meaningful use requires additional tools, extra costs, and workarounds that were not made clear up front. That feels less like nonprofit partnership and more like overpromising to close the deal.

At premium pricing, nonprofits should not be left with half-built features, documentation that does not match the product, and slow support that is polite but ineffective. The whole experience has made us feel like nonprofit language is being used to package a private equity product that ultimately extracts more from mission-driven organizations than it gives back.

For organizations considering Bloomerang, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. In my experience, Give Lively paired with a Salesforce CRM offers a much better path than paying through the nose for a system that increases complexity instead of reducing it.
