I am disgusted by this charity.

Keep donations for their own use and give the poor the scraps which are left

Also abuse children in orphanages

I keep getting texts from them daily even though I have blocked them and unsubscribed. Stay far far away from this so called charity. They will just text you everyday begging for donations.

Any islamic donation charity that takes charity money that is not a very very moderate salary or work for free is just plain wrong. After looking at and reviewing penny appeal and their work. I am very disappointed with their structure. Brothers and sisters PLEASE DO NOT SAY IT IS THE INTENTION THAT COUNTS. THE ONUS IS UPON US IN THIS DIGITAL AGE TO SEARCH FOR INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHARITIES AND GIVE ACCORDINGLY. WHEN TRUSTEES TAKE HUGE SALARIES AND EMPLOYEES INCOME IS HIGH. I PREFER NOT TO DONATE TO THESE CHARITIES AS I DON'T FIND THEM TO BE GENUINE, AUTHENTIC OR HAVE INTENTIONS TO SERVE THE POOR AND NEEDY. OF COURSE IT IS UP TO YOU TO GIVE WHERE YOU CHOOSE TO. I PREFER TO GIVE DONATIONS WHERE 100% WILL GO TO THE POOR AND NEEDY.
PLEASE KEEP THIS IS MIND WHEN YOU DONATE INSHAALLAH!

At the end of the day it’s the intention that counts, even if the charity is fraudulent we still get rewarded. Anyways happy Ramadan

I don’t know how they even got my number but constant non-stop text alerts. They say to text HDTH to 88802, but this is an invalid number and doesn’t send my texts through so there’s no way to stop them harassing me. Do not donate to this charity they will just hassle you forever. Consider donating to Ummah Welfare instead much better service and no pestering messages

I have read the reviews and keep an open mind. I checked with the Charities Commission and this company is credible but moreoever, they take far smaller amounts for administration costs than many charities. As for the orphanage scandal, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt such as I did with Oxfam, that those at the top were let down by employees whom I trust have been punished and weeded out.
I just received my tin of Palestinian dates and my gosh, these are the best, plumpest, tender dates ever, beautiful packaged and fresh - I feel bad that I didn't pay more for them.
This charity do so much good, why can't you focus on that? There is no perfection on Earth.

I very Neutral about the opinions on here. End of the day me giving Charity is between me and Allah and in sha Allah I will be rewarded with my intentions. I would think that all charities take a percentage of the money that we give for admin purposes for the process. We have to trust the people who we give the money to to go into the projects that they say and that goes for all charity online.. who can we trust 100%

I am absolutely fuming with what I have just read about these scavengers!I have been giving these Rats my money for a good couple of years now. I blindly trusted them,Today I randomly thought il check there reviews, the horror stories I have come across has made me sick to my stomach.They where stories about child sexual abuse in Ghana, people saying they have been lining there own pockets with charity money, there has been reports that they have been bullying staff on the lower level and treating them like crap, you know who you are ,shame on you .If I come across any of these scumbags on the top level of this organisation They are going to know about it!! I HAVE CANCELLED MY DIRECT DEBITS FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS AND HAVE GONE TO A MORE TRUSTED MUSLIM CHARITY!!

I have given this fraud company thousands of dollars for wells , orphans. And food aid.
Have asked them numerous times for updates but have met with silence.
Can someone start a petition to sue them to recoup our monies so we can direct it to the legitimate charities?

I paid 10.000 in 2016 for a masjid they take the money I ask for refund refused said we paid tax on it

Penny Appeal is not a charity, it is a business heavily invested in marketing. The many negative reviews sum up this so-called charity but here are some more facts easily available online.

Staff treatment - Employee testimonials at the company reveal how workers are badly treated and of toxic environments. Source Glassdoor.
Abuse inside orphanage - Gambian government had to CLOSE an orphanage due to abuse allegations in 2020. Videos also showed children sleeping on floors. Source YouTube.
Big pockets - Three bosses earn an annual salary/total benefits of over £60,000. One receives over £90,000. This isn't like other "Islamic" charities. Source Charity Commission.

If I could give zero stars I would. Penny Appeal is a disgusting charity which had its orphanages in Gambia closed down because the children were being sexually and physically abused. The charity itself has had countless issues including data breaches where it shares it donor data with dating company owned by the founder of penny appeal. Further more it has one of the worst records of money going to actual charity work. They spend hard earned donation money on advertising and paying social media influencers to promote the 'charity'. In fact I would say its laughable to call this organisation a charity, they run more like a private business and fill their pockets with people's hard earned donations. Avoid Penny Appeal if you can.

As you can see from other reviews on this site, the horrible reputation or this organisation speaks for itself.

I have donated money in the past to this charity before it came to light that they are the most stingiest charity within the UK. A small amount of money goes towards the cause. All of the rest goes towards the charity itself. They do not give 100% donations to the cause. To those that think they can trust this charity; you need to realize that a brother investigated this charity and appeared in a documentary about its stinginess. Also, how many of you saw them appear on TV recently saying crude things about Muslim women? So this proves they really are not trusty. I just made a complaint to them which apparently I have to do prior to contacting the charity commission

My wife sponsored a hifz orphan for 3 years, and asked for a hifz in Bangladesh As thats where she wanted it
Today she got an email with a very basic picture and data of a 5 yearold
Child from elsewhere with only a PDF file attached of child name age and picture
It all seems so shifty and made up

This charity is business taking money of people send pennis to the poor and keep big 💰 themselves they need to be closed down

Please can someone head a formal investigation with regards to the recent sexual abuse of Gambian orphans under the care of Penny Appeal to “The Charity Commission in the U.K. “
and demand answers from Penny Appeal as to where all the donations have gone especially considering the Gambian Government has enforced Penny Appeal to return all the orphans to their guardians and closed down all the operations.

This is a legal organisation open to donors to make a formal complaint; a form is available on their website. Please check Charity Commission in the U.K.

A petition signed by donors asking about where their donation has gone to taken by Penny Appeal is the only way to get answers. The petition needs to be organised and submitted to the Charity Commission in the U.K. They are the “police” and undertakers of all registered charities in the U.K.

Penny Appeal have done several projects using donations but we do not know to what extent they have pocketed donations too. Here we are questioning the sexual abuse of orphans under the Hifz Orphans Programme in Gambia which has now been closed by the country’s government. So where are all the donations with regards to this program that Penny Appeal collected as recent as April to July 2020. Penny Appeal should have suspended collection of donations for Gambian Orphans via their website as well as taking donations over the phone.

Allah (swt) does ask to fight corruption in any shape and form. Collectively and legally we can demand answers via the Charity Commission in the U.K.

Let the originator and owner of this page set up a petition and then submit it to the Charity Commission in the U.K. This is the only way to get answers. There were will be a lot of signatures on this petition I promise you.

Our school has benefitted tremendously from your donations. Penny Appeal has been supporting our school for the past 4 years. Alghumdulilaa we now have learners from our school that has become doctors, chartered accountants, educators, IT Specialist, Specialists in Mathematics etc etc. These young adults are now capable of not only upgrading their lives, but also the lives of their families as a whole.

It is only through the Grace of Allah Almighty and your kindness and generosity that the youth of this very challenging community can prosper to the levels it has.

RIZWAN HUSSAIN is a sexual predator and has been involved in every hustle there has ever been. Any charity that will take on this anti-semite who is well-known is very questionable in my opinion. Anyway this guy goes he leaves a massive trail and destruction behind him he has destroyed many men and women lives in the past.

Now it is time to pay the Piper.

These guys are total con artists, they have hardcore atheists running the British Muslim TV. People I personally know; who I went to university with, who other non muslims would even call snakes. They abuse women sexually and would even try sleeping with other people's partners.

They steal money from the mouths of the poor to live a lavish life of luxury.
