You really need to review and improve your online donation website as the donation type always reverts to 'Charitable' regardless of what donation type you select. It is extremely annoying and frustrating as been happening for almost a year or so despite phoning in or Emailing and reporting the problem numerous times only to be told issue has been resolved. Sorry but it hasn't! Slowly loosing confidence in system and should not have to chase up to get my donation type corrected. I know everything is captured via intentions but at end of day don't want my donation type going into wrong pot!! Fed up!!!

Penny Appeal is a great charity doing great work across the world. I would have given my interaction with your website a higher rating had I not and to reset thrice because the site just had me waiting for several minutes on the final donation page neither the PayPal nor the debit card donation route worked smoothly.

Easy to donate and all options available Zakat, Sadaqah etc. Great and valued company.

I cant belive i got scammed they took the money for 2 orphans and sent no welcome pack or any information on the 2 kids even though we requested 2 boys in Pakistan for a year. Paid direct debit called everyday for 3 months and no one called back and they kept pretending to send out the welcome packs however I received nothing but get all my parcels from worldwide never had a problem. Eventually told me a finance manager would call me back its been a year still chasing it up and no1 ever calls back. I can't believe the amount of Muslims I speak to on a daily basis and who continue to lie to my face pretending they are really sorry but provide no answers to who the kids are that I sponsored. Disgusting organisation! SCAMMERS DO NOT TRUST

I have paid money to penny appeal for nearly a year i paid upfront for one well last May and was told will take a year to build, same time i paid for another well in monthly installements of 25 a month and was nearly paid off when i called and questioned about update on my well thats been paid off I got no security to know its getting made or where its being built no progress report nothing, in total i have paid 525 for wells and 150 on monthly zakat with this company and i now genually believe that they have been scamming me how can a well known organisation not have updates on a well that you have paid for. I really thought I was doing a good deed for getting these wells made on my parents name and put money aside each month to have this done now knowing its all a scam been 2 weeks no phone call or email back about my complaint.

I ordered some date over a month ago as a gift with a view to ordering more around Ramadan. I have emailed and still yet to receive the dates. I really don’t expect to receive them now leading me to believe this is nothing more than a scam company preying on the good will of well meaning individuals. They think nobody will complain cos they are a charity.

Pity you can’t type without giving any stars because penny appeal you are a disgrace i was reading one of the responses you made about your antics in Gambia with the poor orphans shame on you that is all i am going to say subhan’Allah how can you just push it aside like those children don’t matter that those poor children are so vulnerable have no parents and guardians I would never make this duaa against anyone but you guys need to fear Allah swt I can’t believe you are still operating after the awful things the charities commission has got you for People please please do not give these people a penny let alone a pound

After I paid for a well on my dad’s name they ignore all my emails they just took the money and disappear 🫥 .
Avoid them .

Paid for dates that that was supposed to come before Ramadan this year and never received it or my £35 back. Called several times to no avail. Disgusting and shameful as it was supposed to be donated to Gaza. Don't trust them with your hard earned money

If I could give a Zero I would. I will never donate to them again or attend any event they organize.
I bought a ticket for Yasmine Mogahed event scheduled for Nov22, 2024 here in Edmonton.
I bought the ticket on October 20, 2024. I requested a Refund on Oct 22, two days after (within the time limit as I had more than 7 or 10 days to get a refund).
No refund has been processed. I waited until today Novembre2, 2024, before emailing Penny Appeal with the screen shots, and letting them know that I will have to involve my Credit Card Company who will take it from them if they do not help me. I said I would rather deal with them before escalating to my Credit Card company. I dealt with the Evenet Manager based in Mississauga: Sarika Aysha Verma

Right after my email the evenbrite status changed from "Refund Pending" to "Refund Approved", but the lady was dishonest and said the refund has been processed, instead of being truthful, as she only approved the refund after she received my email.
The Eventbrite showed it was still pending and soon after I sent my email warning them I will escalate it further to my Credit Card company, the status on Eventbrite changed to "Approved". I took screen shots of it.
It is sad that Islam is used to take advantage of people. So many people donate their hard earned money to only find out they have been duped. Luckily for me it was only a ticket, as it had been few years since I donated to them. I have become very cautious who donate to. The reviews on Penny Appeal are so bad on Trust Pilot as well as other sites.

We should all do our due diligence before donating.

Really appreciate the help from the Penny Appeal with our Summer Cyclocross Event last night, everyone was very helpful and accommodating, thanks very much :)

I sponsored 2orphans, but 2 Hindu kids from Bangladesh were assigned to me, I wonder if everyone got the same kids from Bangladesh and it is only a scam.
Also they activated a 3rd direct debit ( additional transaction) without my permission.

I stopped my payments after reading things about penny appeal. I was a long standing contributer to penny appeal, years. So I phoned them up told them the issues and that they need to stop taking money of my account, I was told that's fine. Next month they went in again made another phone i was told it won't happen again and again the following month they went again. Called again for them to stop taking money out of my account and I want a refund of the two months money that they have taken without authorisation. It's coming up to a year almost no refund keep phoning and get told will sort out but
nothing. I honestly use to believe in penny appeal I started with them when hey were new on and off but now been giving for 3 or 4 years now. Don't they know that this is donated money and how strict Islam is about donated money. How do they justify paying salaries to there top 5 people over 4 hundred thousands pounds. They have totally lost their way. Unfortunately there are other muslim charities not all who paying the same wages.

I have recently used them for Qurbani but since I made the payment I have realised random multiple payment coming out of my account daily.

I should have checked the reviews before using them. Made a big mistake.

STAY AWAY! These guys are the no.1 scammers in the Charity sector.

They use the money of honest and hard-working people to fill their own pockets - this has been verified!

Absolutely shameful, hope they get what they deserve in this life and the hereafter.

Edit: since placing the 1 star review here I have received my items. So I am upgrading to two stars. Given I had reached out before placing the review here with no response I feel that 2 is fair.

Given my experience though I will not be having any further interactions with this charity

I bought Ramadan dates with special edition tins. They have never been delivered nor will anyone answer an email asking for an update. Do not buy it donate to them
