So I think they make the money off of us by first selling US a $45 modem that has to be babysat by unplugging and plugging every few hours and each time you have trouble getting Internet that is so slow you can barely watch movies. It constantly has to be reset so you're out you're your out that and they are getting paid by the government on top of stealing your money. They suck and they'll just change their name after the people learn who they really are!

I first applied for a laptop in July. It arrived in September and did not turn on! We waited 5 weeks for a replacement only to receive a laptop with 1/2 the Ram, 1/2 the storage and none of the software we ordered. It also glitches and won't load any thing without crashing. Its been months since I have been fighting to return it but have not had any luck just rude customer service! This company is a scam!

I went to PCs for victims against my better judgement...I have had dealings with them in the past, not good. However, I wanted a better laptop then the one I had, so I thought that since their best pc was built by someone else, I could get a good deal for about $200.
Wrong. The salesgirl was not professional. and when I started to use the Dell refurb with 16 gbs of RAM and a SSD of 485 gbs it ran so slow my ailing laptop was 5 times faster, Not to mention the Trojan like way they rig the Laptop so that, no matter what you do, when you click on the Google icon in the taskbar you only go to their website. I am so sorry I dealt with these repeat abusers of their welfare customers and the general public alike.

I have scoured the internet for a solution to my needs, I opted for this company. I placed an order for $65. I wasn't called or emailed about a USCA issue they found. They refunded my money, I've lost my original order, the total is now nearly $90 and for what? Absolutely nothing, I am not enrolled in any other program nor do I have/reached any max of $100 device credit towards any devices. It Absolutely makes no sense. I've reported to FCC. PCs for people basically told me there's nothing they can do since ACP is 3rd party. Okay, then why was Cox and GloFiber able to figure it out for me a while back and they can't? Even then okay, they are different companies, understandable. But I did the research for the issue and I had nothing, I'm actually enrolled in ACP with PCs for people, them being the only ones. So, what type of noobs do you guys have running your ACP program? Because it's screwed me over and set me back from making money for my kids as a single mother. Ridiculous.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
Awful company, worse service, and flaming garbage products. Negative 10 stars, run far far away!!!! My original order went unfulfilled for a month, my replacement order required 2 follow-up mailings to complete, I was ultimately refunded for my extraordinarily poor experience, and the computer doesn't even work. It has lost me many hours of work when it constantly freezes and my hard reboot doesn't keep the saved work because it didn't have time to sync the save to the cloud. I literally lost my entire morning of work today and will be going Office Space on this POS desktop this afternoon. No computer is better than this one.

As most reviews stated the company can be more organized. PRO: My computer came and for the price it is top of the line. as fast as the 17 at the libraries here in Tucson. I was suppose to get a 22 inch screen. Received a 20 inch screen. the company refunded me $40.00. good customer service. Con: 1. Company didn't send my wife adapter. although they are sending me out one as an after thought - I couldn't wait --went to best buy and spent $29 which also should be refunded. I needed to set everything up. 2. The DVD player did not open. This is concerning--Why...technicians should have done a thorough check of the computer before mailing but didn't. When I called they stated either I mail it back for that repair or it was on me to fix. I am not risking sending this computer back to them. I will use the $40 credit and get this fixed. Again I should be refunded. This came from their negligence. CALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE: for the most part they do the best they can. I have been hung up on from a person with a mean disposition. very rude. but when this happens just hang up and call back. most of them are pleasant. They can only do so much. So as stated at the beginning they can be more organized, accountable and responsible for their mistakes. I give it 4 stars because the computer is the best I ever had and for the price I am thankful for being able to qualify and buy a top of the line refurbished computer.
Horrible customer service and useless product
The company obviously knows they have lousy service. After reading the reviews, I realize I'm just another dissatisfied customer. I requested a laptop with upgraded software, an upgraded hard drive, and their top model, yet when I received it, the first thing I noticed is that the model was older, and it didn't even have a hard drive installed. Totally useless!!!! I immediately called and tried to talk to someone, but no one was available so I had to request a refund online. I did get a return label, but they never confirmed anything. I am disputing the charge on my credit card and requesting a full refund.
They are so disorganized that the company is now sending me two items without even reaching out to me to verify. Don't use these scammers, unless you want to waste your time and money and have a useless laptop with horrible customer service.
Wrong Items Received!
I payed for and received wrong, incompatible items for Order #611309, placed on 05/17/2023.
I received a 2014 DELL Monitor, with a black power cord and blue HD15 male to male video cable.
I also received a 2017 DELL modem, OptiPlex 3050 - (model D11S002, Windows 10 Pro), with NO power cord and NO compatible cable (BOTH monitor and modem cable ports were NOT the same AND not compatible with each other, therefore cannot connect!).
Also, the monitor screen is MUCH older - from 2014, while the modem is newer, manufactured in 2017.
I cannot job search, and am VERY disappointed and frustrated that I was shipped incompatible items that I paid for.
I've included photos of each of the issues in an email to pcsforpeople.com.
I'd like to go ahead and return ONLY the modem and monitor and be shipped new ones, along with their proper power cords and cables. And I'd like to keep the keyboard, mouse, and headset I received.

These people are scammers they advertised a i7 laptop but when it came it was a 2015 i3 that takes 10 min to even boot up then they was rude expecting me to pay to ship back so I called my bank and they contacted them and they refunded my money and I trashed the cpu
PC'S FOR PEOPLE.....TOTAL RIPOFF
I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered my computer. I received it not long after I offered it. I was setting it up when I realized they sent the wrong power cord. So I immediately called them. They said they would ship the right one out to me. Five weeks later I received the power cord. I plugged it in and the computer didn't work. I bought this computer because I needed one to stay my on line classes to finish my bachelor's degree. When I called PC's for People, I was told that they would send me a shipping label and I could ship the computer back and they would repair it and I might get it back in two or three months. Way to late to use for my course work. I now have to rent a lap top to start my classes until I can and up to buy another computer. I trusted this company because COX cable offered a coupon for my purchase. COX should be more careful who they associate their name with. PC'S FOR PEOPLE IS A TOTAL RIP OFF. Even if the computer had worked, it was a really old model, didn't look anything like the pictures they had on their web site.

After reading all the reviews, I am very skeptical about this organization. It has been 2 weeks since I ordered a laptop from them and it still has not shipped. They sent an email that the order shipped with UPS, but all they have done is create a shipping label. It's still sitting in their shop and they are not even organized enough to notify UPS to come pick it up.

I think they should be more organized. I bought a computer at the end of November 2022 and I returned the next day I received it, because the quality of the refurbished computer. Now they are saying they have not received it, even I faxed the document from FEDEX mail...I am just hoping they clear their act and return my money.
One of the nastiest NGO I came across…
One of the nastiest NGO I came across with absurd polices to buy something through the ACP. Very frustrating and annoying to have our order dishonored after the payment was made. They did a refund after 5 days wanting to make us go through their AVP when we were qualified through the ACP. They cancelled the order as we refused to go through their AVP. Felt it was not right AVP is not above ACP.
Waste of time and money. Buy refurbished elsewhere.
Received a a refurbished PC notebook from PC for peoples and the device will not connect to the Internet. I’ve been on the phone with my Internet provider for hours having them troubleshooting it. I have other devices that work fine on the Internet but this new refurbished PC does not work and I paid $150 for it and it will not connect to the internet and the Wi-Fi card is bad. nobody at PC peoples has any idea how to help you with this so I guess I’ll be returning this piece of junk and get my money back and buy a computer elsewhere I would not recommend this service to anybody. There is no technical help with anything from PC for peoples. You’re basically on your own.
Great cost on laptop... But does it WORK?
Great cost on laptop... Except they sent improperly programmed one the first time causing more delays, and the second they sent has a battery that only holds a charge for 2 hours. Thinking I may not have shut down right I retried that, then trying to review the settings for the battery to ensure it was not something there... NOPE, 2 hours of life MAX. The news on that? Battery warranty only 7 days. So now I get to stay tied to a wall all the time or invest in a new battery costing as much or more than the unit itself. Pretty shady folks.

They were wonderful until they switched to using T-mobile. Ever since then I've had barely and reception and my devices won't connect to the internet. I tried calling T-mobile..had no help..called PC for People and they said all I could do is cancel the subscription with them and go somewhere else for internet. Thought they were supposed to be helping people get internet..not the opposite. Really disappointed with how I was treated and not helping resolve anything. It's prettt sad to see actually..because I know I'm not the only one dealing with this issue..especially here in Grand Rapids, MN

PCS for people has a lot of great programs and offers for low income people. I was able to buy a very nice refurbished laptop at a very reasonable price. Their customer service has been very helpful; I recommend calling them though, because they are more reachable that way (by email can take awhile, unless you are responding to a prior email string that a rep sent you). They are a non-profit, so I don't expect them to be as available as Am*zon for example. :) I have only had a couple issues with purchases through their EBB program, but they have resolved them for the most part. Thanks PCS for People. :)
