make a game, sell it, put it on sales and then kill the servers so that noone can play it

Terrible handling the War games, after killing their own multiplayer games, they removed them completely from the steam and online capabiliites, rendering what meek offline capabilities they had inaccessible. furthermore, they have failed to attempt to sell the source, resources or IP of the war games to fatshark or another developer to fix or revamp the games. leaving anyone who bought the game, in the hole, without the game they bought, or the money they spent on it.

They closed war of the roses servers and theres no way to play the game.
What game will you close next Paradox?

They pay to developer company to make a game (War of the Roses), after milking the gamer community with this game few years later they broke their contrat with the developer company and few months later they close the servers and the game itself not allowing the customers who bought this game to play it anymore.

This behaivour is close to a fraudulent pattern from a gaming industry company, what a shame we cannot play something we paid for anymore.

Paradox stopped the developing of war of the roses and closed servers completely soon.

war of the roses was such an amazing game sure not everyone liked it but it was so good for those that did and they never gave it the love it deserved and now they shut down the servers so the people that enjoy it can never play it again

Paradox doesn't care about their customers. They comletly shut down a game people paid money for and instead of opening up a obviously profitless IP they just want to squeeze the last shekels out of it by "selling it to any interested party".

Don't trust Paradox.

Ich finde das ziemlich frech, man kauft ein Produkt, gibt im Laufe der Jahre, in denen man dieses gekaufte und bezahlte Produkt nutzt, noch mehr Geld für dieses Produkt aus und plötzlich sagt der Hersteller, jetzt haben wir keine Lust mehr und machen dicht.
Und als Käufer steht man nun mit leeren Händen da und kann das Produkt nicht mehr nutzen. Das ist dreist, so geht man nicht mit Kunden um!

Sells War Of The Roses (wort) game and ends up turning it into f2p (I suppose you could argue I got my money's worth for being able toplay it bit earlier than f2p people could). Which would've been fine, but later on ends up turning their game servers offline on online game without any room for negotiation (including, but not limited to making serverse rentable)

They closed down the servers for a game called War of the Roses. An online game - that you can ONLY play online. Yep, that's right, no single player options or anything.

So right now, I have a game which I've payed full price for. Which I cannot play, because the developer totally abandoned it.

Another WOTR player here. Though the player count was never big, even in the end it still had a dedicated player base, people who were willing to rent their own servers for it (Thus letting Paradox keep the game alive with a mere backend server > minimal upkeep costs), people willing to code an update for it so that it would require no backend server (Thus letting Paradox keep the game alive with zero upkeep costs) and even a player founded company willing to buy the game and continue it's development. Even with all this Paradox decided that it was better to close down the game.

I loved War of the Roses I met some amazing people on it and had such a good time though i only started playing mid 2016 when i wanted to try the alternative to Chivalry MWF.

Over time i really began to like the game and though communities where small you would find a group of dedicated players on servers and it would be so much fun! I became one of these dedicated player and logged on at least once every two days when i had free time from my studies and overall its customisation and aesthetics were so breathtaking part of me regrets not getting it sooner!

So now for the bad part. Taking the game away from those who paid for it including the kingmaker update is just plain wrong and inexcusable. Yes the population of games do dwindle and die but not less than a decade! The compensation offered to those who owned the game didn't even exist!!!

You offered those who owned War of the Vikings compensation and allowed them to continue playing yet you cut off WOTR paid players without an eyelid and 0 compensation. This is not acceptable when you buy a service like a video-game you do not expect it after a few years to be unplayable because you are terminating the service that has been paid for an are in turn breaching the terms of the sale agreement.

At least allow some kind of player run rented servers or something and allow those who loved the game to keep on playing rather than driving people to similar games. This is because no matter how similar the game it will not be what we enjoyed in WOTR it won't bring the community back and the mostly positive people in the game who were willing to help out new people.

Furthermore offering compensation in a form of paradox games is not a fair trade and is like dumping content on people which did not ask for it and does not make up for the fact that the service (WOTR) has been removed and those injured by such a loss as the money; who paid for the game have not been given a satisfactory remedy such as a proper reimbursement of the game for the sale price it was bought for.

In addition to this there were talks i am aware to revive the game but you yourselves denied us this and as a result may well have scared the reputation of paradox. Its important to remember one dissatisfied customer will tell 100 more.

I paid over 100 euro for special edition to support their release of war of the vikings, only to have the game abandoned after half a year. If only they'd abandoned it though.. some hero from paradox kept working on the game on his own anyway but he kept making the game worse and worse and refusing to take criticism. Then servers where shut down to finally kill the game.

Don't trust paradox, and do not ever buy any game with online play from them.

I can not recommend this company to anyone as they are using a really shady buisness model to close down their online games with no refunds.
