Hidden customs charges, ignored emails, and debt collectors — shocking experience
I ordered a perfume from Pana Dora (Sweden) and paid €38 for shipping. After that, DHL demanded an additional customs duty, which was never mentioned during the purchase process. Pana Dora did not inform me in advance about any such charges, did not include it in the shipping terms, and did not give me a chance to opt out once these unexpected costs appeared.
I never signed anything or agreed to pay any customs fees. Since I refused to pay for something I wasn’t informed about, DHL sent the case to debt collectors, and now I’m being threatened over a charge that shouldn’t be my responsibility.
Pana Dora’s customer support has been extremely disappointing. They ignored my messages for weeks. Eventually, they replied telling me to send an email — which I did — but they never responded, and it’s been months.
I even reached out to Ibrahim Al Zouabi, the founder and CEO of Pana Dora Sweden Niche Fragrance (his profile is publicly available on LinkedIn). After my message, he simply blocked me.
This is completely unprofessional and unethical. The company created this situation and then left the customer to deal with the consequences. No responsibility, no help — just silence and blame-shifting.
I strongly advise against buying anything from this brand. You may end up harassed by collectors and completely ignored by the company that caused the issue.
