Orion worked very well co-ordinating all the parts to rebuild our conservatory. Carl in particular who we saw to begin with was very passionate about in job and discussed alot of options with us.
Most of the buildes etc were very efficient with an exception of some leaving rubbish behind. This was disposed of when we informed Orion of this. There were complications with communication towards the end of our project for a few months, not getting responses from Orion about the building control side of things and paperwork completion. However we were able to contact Carl about these issues which were then dealt with within a few days.

We have finally come to the end of a year of dealing with Orion/Co Home Improvements. We had a front door, back door and some aluminium bifolds fitted.

The front door came without a letter box, which was ultimately fixed, though with a few headaches. Unfortunately, the aluminium doors had endless problems with draughts, leaks and problems latching. Orion came out over 10 times to try and resolve these issues. During this, we discovered they were installed 12mm out of plumb with no damp proof membrane and incorrect drainage holes. The doors generally were of poor quality. After a huge battle with Orion, we ultimately rejected them using the Consumer Rights Act and managed to get a full refund. Through all of this, Orion were generally uncommunicative, unapologetic and required chasing at every stage - including the refund which took over 3 weeks. We shudder to think how many hours we have lost chasing them, worrying and researching. The stress it has caused us has been huge and we would never use Orion again. They appear to be a PVC/conservatory company who have tried to sidestep into aluminium without the knowledge or skill set. We had intended to use Orion to replace some windows, however after our experience with their customer service team, we won’t be doing this and would not recommend them.

We have now replaced our bifolds using another company who have been much more professional and provided better quality doors for a better price.

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Disappointing Service and Poor Quality

We’ve had nothing but problems with our windows since they were installed. The quality and aftercare have been absolutely shocking.

Windows continually develop faults, and every time there’s an issue, we’re left waiting up to six weeks for someone to come out. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when you’ve paid good money and expect products that actually last.

The most disappointing part is the complete lack of care or urgency from the business. Nobody seems interested in resolving the underlying problems. Instead, they just keep sending people out to deal with yet another fault.

You shouldn’t have to repeatedly chase a company to fix windows that should be working properly in the first place.

Based on our experience, I would strongly advise anyone considering Orion Windows / Northeast Windows to think very carefully before purchasing.

Extremely poor quality, unacceptable waiting times and a complete lack of customer care. I certainly wouldn’t recommend them.

Our door looks great and everyone we have dealt with at Orion have been very nice. However, it has been a mixed bag: When we wanted to order the door, my husband and I went to the York showroom to choose the various elements, specifically because he could not be there when the sales person was due to come around a couple of days later.
The person in the showroom was nice, but it was frustrating that their display of the different glass types available was in the form of a pillar with glass on all sides - so that you could not actually look through any of it (and if your chosen glass wasn’t on display elsewhere then obviously that’s a problem).
However, with the help of the showroom employee, we chose a door, a colour and glass type etc.
So I was somewhat frustrated a few days later when the sale person who came out, told me that we could not have that type of glass with our chosen door. I therefore had to choose a different type of glass from a load of pictures in a paper catalogue, as the sales person did not carry glass samples.
Consequently, our door is unfortunately much less see through than we would have chosen, though it looks good.
Several months later, we noticed that the moulding around the glass on the inside of the door seemed to be coming away slightly from the door in some places so I sent an email about this to an email address I had previously corresponded with the company on.
I heard nothing at all.
Several weeks later, I noticed that the door was also wonky in its frame and that the lock was getting quite stiff.
I don’t know whether these things had always been the case or whether it had just happened at some point and whether it was due to work at our house - though the work wasn’t anything that shook it.
I emailed the same address about the wonky door frame and still heard nothing.
A few days later, I tried using the contact sheet on their website and heard back immediately - partly to organise for someone to come out and partly to be told that they didn’t know who monitored the email address I had been using.
I was told that someone could come out on the following Monday morning , I think it was, and I said that would be great and asked what time.
No reply.
I asked again and was told that they’d assumed I’d said yes and so had booked it. And that they couldn’t tell me what time in the morning. I explained that I do need to know and so they did get the engineer to phone me Monday morning and give me a time.
The door still looks wonky but less so and he explained that basically, doors are made with space inside the frames nowadays to allow expansion in the heat.
He also easily pushed in the moulding around the glass.
He sorted out the stiff key too by pouring in some graphite powder.
So I would say it is a little mixed: ultimately a lovely product and everyone is very nice, but communication and customer information needs to improve - especially when the door was so expensive.

We called Orion regarding our bifold doors because the glass on all five panels had started to show a faint stripe straight down the middle. We were worried that it may be blamed on non-warranty issues.
No such argument! One look at them and full responsibility was accepted. New glass ordered same day just awaiting delivery to agree an installation date.
Highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use Orion again.

The communication was good and responsive. Very happy with the installer who worked very hard and did a great job despite the challenges. It was a shame that he had to return as the side windows were the wrong size first time around but we are happy with the finished result.

From the planning to the finish of the fitting of our new front door was stress free , the sales and showing us the choice and materials of the door was huge . We were kept uptodate with every process we are delighted it’s exactly want we wanted and looks fabulous .

Excellent service from start to completion

We had our sun room upgraded 5 years ago and the work done was efficient and high quality. We have had a number of settling issues but with the long warranty it has been stress free to get one of the team back to sort out any problems. A door alignment issue has just been sorted quickly and efficiently.There’s no complicated process , just call and an appointment is made . Makes such a difference when you spend a lot on a product to know you have great customer support for years instead of weeks .

I would not recommend this company if you are considering an extension, look elsewhere. Bi fold door won't shut properly and was told it was due to the environment. Wife was literally late for work as she could not shut the door and we only get the sun in a morning.

The initial works were completed to schedule but one window had to be reordered due a size error. We had a leak due to a failed joint in the box gutter this was repaired however would have appreciated a quicker response time to limit damage.

Joe was friendly and respectful throughout the appointment at my house. From the appointment all the way to installation, everything has been fantastic! Both of our doors look great and are standing up to the wet weather very well. Thank you

From start to finish a brilliant service was had, the initial consultation was very clear and gave us a price straight away no waiting around, we were shown samples to choose from including colours and hardware. Communication all the way through was outstanding and the guys that came to fit the doors did an outstanding job even overcame obstacles in getting the frames into the back garden for the bifolds, they were friendly and considerate and worked efficiently and tidied up very well at the end of the day, I would definitely recommend Orion Windows to anyone. And we will be going back for the rest of our windows in the future.

The service from Orion was very good. The problem with my front door was dealt with quickly and a replacement was provided under the warranty. It was all dealt with in a professional, friendly manner and regular up dates were provided.

I found that choosing and purchasing a new door from Orion windows was very easy . The initial visit was helpful ,friendly and informative. No pushy sales technique, just good advice. The product I chose was perfect for my needs. The installation was straight forward and well done. I will certainly contact Orion Windows again should I need anything else and I highly recommend them.
