I had an extremely disappointing experience with Anglian Home Improvements and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution.

After entering into a contract for a new living space, the company ultimately cancelled the project themselves because the necessary approvals were “not forthcoming.” This was not due to any action or failure on my part, yet I have still been charged £1,500 from my deposit.

What makes this particularly concerning is that during the sales process, I was clearly told that if the build could not go ahead for any reason, my deposit would be fully refunded. That assurance played a key role in my decision to proceed. This has not been honoured.

On top of that, there has been a complete lack of transparency. I have not been provided with any meaningful itemised breakdown of what work was supposedly carried out to justify the deduction. Instead, it appears to be a blanket charge applied regardless of actual costs incurred.

To make matters worse, the company attempted to present this deduction as a “full and final settlement,” which feels highly inappropriate given the circumstances — especially when they were the party unable to proceed.

From a customer perspective, this leaves a very poor impression:

* A significant sum retained for a project that never happened
* Verbal assurances during the sales process not being honoured
* No clear explanation of what the money was spent on
* A sense that standard terms are being used to impose disproportionate charges

I would expect a reputable company to demonstrate transparency, fairness, and accountability — particularly when a contract cannot go ahead. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience here.

I am currently seeking a full explanation and justification for the amount retained.

Based on this experience, I would not recommend Anglian.

We were happy with the door installed by Anglian. The communication from start to finish was great and the installer was polite, friendly and worked quickly, cleaning up behind himself.

They have made it really easy for us to get a new door fitted and new guttering!
They have done a fantastic job.
They have kept us up to date with everything and Dean has been great with his communication regarding the jobs and timings.

Door fitted in 2020 wasn't locking . Customer Services arranged a service visit quickly. Dan Till the service engineer arrived on time and replaced the locking mechanism. The locks in the door were not lining up with the locking mechanism in the frame . Dan was excellent and professional. And the door shuts and locks the best it has ever operated. We just wish the fitters in 2020 had ensured the door was aligned properly. And the service engineer who visited before when it wasn't shutting properly hadn't fob us off saying it was caused by a vacuum created by the internal door. For the first time since the door was fitted my wife can shut and lock the door without struggling. Thank you Dan for your excellent service.

The door we waited nearly 3 months for had not been measured properly. The first installers left us with a bit of wood instead of a front door. After complaining about that the company sent some new installers who managed to install the door, but the wrong way round so it opens outwards and doesn't open completely (hopefully we could squeeze out in case of fire). But at least we can see out now. Apparently they are 'urgently' remaking the door and will reinstall. Customer service since has been non existent: I would expect someone to chase 'the manufacturers' and be able to give us a date for reinstalling. I have phoned and just been told that 'it's with the manufacturers, we don't know when it will be ready, we can't contact them we have to wait for them.' It's not helped by struggling with communication. I would have hoped one person would be dealing with our case and phone / email us to keep us in the loop. Instead we have to call the central number and explain the problem all over again. They also seem to have difficulties dealing with two people (my other half and I) and can't be relied on to call a specific telephone number. We are now 20 weeks from paying the deposit.

The whole experience was really smooth. The installers were friendly, explained everything clearly, and kept things tidy, which I appreciated. I noticed straight away that the house felt warmer so that made a big difference.
I think the company does a good job with both the quality of the windows and the service—they’re reliable and communicate well.

I am writing this to warn others about the intrusive sales tactics used by Anglian Home Improvements. Today, a man named Curtis knocked on my door claiming to be from the company.
He did this despite a clear "No Cold Callers" notice posted at my front door. He completely ignored the sign and launched into a high-pressure pitch, claiming he had "booked" someone to come and look at our guttering and baseboards. This is incredibly dishonest, as absolutely no one in our household requested this or spoke to them previously.
When I explained we were not interested, Curtis refused to take no for an answer. He was relentless and insisted on leaving a leaflet (which went straight into the bin).
Cold calling is an unprofessional way to find business, but cold calling a house that specifically asks not to be disturbed is a total lack of respect for privacy. I do not trust any company that operates this way. I’m giving them the lowest rating possible. Prospective customers beware.

We had a service call today from Marcus Ramsay following the installation of 2 doors 11 weeks ago.

Marcus as well as being very friendly is a genuine expert in his field. He was able to assess the situation and diagnose the problems in a matter of seconds. Within around half an hour there are no more issues.

Great service from start to finish, from the sales representative to the installation team! Communicated and provided regular updates. Friendly installation team and cleaned up after themselves. Very happy customer with beautiful windows

All smooth and polite from start to finish

Failed to turn up for the first arranged appointment.
Failed to communicate the fact that they weren't coming! I had to ring them!
Several phone calls to get anyone to acknowledge that this is unacceptable.
Promised they would be here first thing this morning - up at 6am to clear the room (again), they were not here at the appointed time, despite all the 'please let us make it to to you' - and no phone call (again).
They were pretty keen to try and get me to pay in advance after the first no-show!! Not likely...
The installer did arrive - very apologetic, said he hadn't been given the job in time to be there for the promised appointment. He was very efficient, polite - knew his stuff.
Great job from him.
Restored our confidence for this sale, but we didn't get exactly what we wanted. Not even trying to push for that, we are chalking it up to experience and we won't be going back, I can't cope with all the stress!!!

Overall experience very good.

Really quick installation and very experienced installation guys did a terrific job.

Very happy with how the extra money spent on laminated glass helped with soundproofing.

I have requested Anglian to quote for my three external doors (front, utility and patio french doors) after having had quotes from two other companies, including doors manufacturered by Endurance.
Anglian customer service from point of sale to measurement survey to fitting has been exceptional. The whole process from purchase to fitting took around 4 weeks, which was great!

Andrew, the sales person who visited me at my home explained in details all my options from door design to payment options and why Anglian doors are superior to any other brand. The safety features and the fact that Anglian has been in business over 60 years were for me the main decision making factors, at the end of the day, doors are for protection, protection from the environment and from intruders. The one most important factor in any house. They also manufacture the doors themselves and have been in business over 60 years. This is also incredibly important if any claims are needed during the 10-year warranty.

Christie Glenn, the measurements surveyor was also very knowledgeable and friendly, explaining next steps and making sure my order and all details chosen were absolutely correct. He measured all perfectly! All doors fitted with no issues. Such an important job!

Then the fitting team - Phil & Miranda were great! They spent all day fitting the doors and were very organised and clean during the work, left no mess, were very careful with protecting our furniture, were very friendly and made sure that my pets (3 cats and a dog) were safe and secured inside the house as the work took place and at times all doors were open all together during fitting.
The doors were fitted perfectly and now after 2 weeks, there are no issues at all. Such a great job done so well. They explained in details how to operate the doors and how to care for them to preserve maximum integrity and longevity. Every detail perfectly done, specially the finish and sealing around the walls. Again, no mess and perfect finish.
The doors are expensive but you do get what you pay for: Excellent quality all throughout.

The doors are beautiful, the keys offer excellent additional level of safety and they do come with cover against intruders. Total piece of mind!

I am so happy to have chosen Anglian for my doors and will definitely be working with them again when the time comes to replace my windows.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I am genuinely appalled. We asked Anglian for a quote on our fascias soffits and guttering and were quoted just shy of £7,000 for a 3 bed semi detached. Two local companies have since quoted us £1,650-£2,000 for the exact same work. Please don’t fall for this companies sales tactics.

The handles in someof my windows were faulty.
I contacted Anglian and it was very easy to report the issue and book an appointment to get the issues rectified.
Tomasz did a great job in replacing the faulty handles and did so in a short timeframe. Thank you
