I write this review reluctantly, hoping to spare others the nightmare I've endured with Origin Doors and Windows (origin-global.com in High Wycombe).

Origin supplied aluminium sliding windows (through enfieldwindows.co.uk EN9 2HB London) with a misty opacity (no option to upload pictures but i have many).

The windows also allow rainwater into the channel where the windows run (by design), with holes which supposedly allow the water to run away, eventually.

The water caused huge damage which I eventually claimed on the insurance out of desperation when I could get nowhere with Origin or Enfield.

While they initially accepted liability, their conduct since has been nothing short of appalling.

Since October 2024, I have made over 50 phone calls and over 100 emails chasing resolution.

Despite promising replacement windows, they refused to deliver or install them.

The complete lack of customer service is staggering. Months of empty promises, ignored communications forced me towards legal action.

Once threatened with that they replaced the windows.

Enfield installed them and … they have exactly the same misty opacity (maybe slightly worse) as before.

Yes, really.

It seems neither company bothered to check them.

They are now refusing to do any more.

So, before choosing Origin (or Enfield), ask yourself: are you prepared for potentially months of stress, dozens of unanswered calls and the possibility of legal proceedings just to enforce a warranty?

Are you also prepared to have glass that is not transparent? ("The misting on the glass is not a great look” as the salesman at Enfield Windows Ltd admitted).

Because that's exactly what I've had.

My advice is simple: choose literally any other window company. The initial savings aren't worth the astronomical cost in time, stress and eventual legal fees.

i have given them one star because there's no option to give them less.

I have updated my review following the goodwill gesture by origin to repair the bifold door which the installer was unwilling to support. The product is very good, let down by poor service from the installer (who are independent to origin global), but nevertheless the inability to get the servicing done by the installer does lead to long term issues. I wonder what will happen when there are issues in the future, while I am grateful for origin in stepping up to address the issue I am left wondering whether I need to replace the bifolds in the next 2-3 years due to no local support. My only advice I can offer origin is to to find a way to address this issue. I was going to replace all windows in the house with origin, but am now left knowing this is not an issue due to the lack of local support.

Whilst the doors are well made, like anything they will at some point require replacement parts. This is where the fun begins.
Our doors are registered under the Origin 20 Year Guarantee, of which isn't worth the paper its written on.
Something as simple as the springs failing in the sprung handles, both rusted and snapped. An easy 5 minute job to replace, consisting of 4 screws and 2 lugs.
No Problem I thought, until I found I cannot purchase the handles from anyone.
Contacted Origin who advise they wont provide the parts in any way shape or form. They will only offer them as a warranty part to the installer, who unfortunately is no longer trading.
Origin then sent a full list of installers over, none of which are interested in looking at or rectifying someone else's work.
I told Origin I don't need a registered installer its a handle, I am more than capable of changing it myself, after all I removed it to find what had failed.
Response is I may damage the door changing them. I asked them to explain how I can damage the door. Response 'I don't know I am not technical'.
Warranty aside as it clearly isn't worth anything. Can I please order handles? 'No'.
So I have a door, with defective handles and Origin will not replace or sell me a replacement handle. None of their parts are available anywhere and again all they say is you need to get a registered installer. Again none are interested, but additionally if they did, they want to charge to come and assess the work, and to install the handles.
For some reason, Origin seem to think their doors are mystical and you need a degree in screws to replace anything, and as such they are obstructive when it comes to replacement parts. Their customer service team are arrogant and the exact opposite of what you expect from customer service on a 'premium product'.
I would strongly advise against anything with the Origin branding as they are nothing but cowboys.

Terrible customer service. I would give no stars if I could. This company should be ashamed! Be very careful if you choose this company.

Firstly I have to say the bi-fold doors I had fitted are excellent & high quality.
But when you do experience a problem, Origin customer services are most unhelpful.
I have been trying to get replacement bearings fitted for over two years.
The problem stems from they insist on putting the onus on the installer, who has to carry out the repair at their cost, so obviously they are reluctant to get involved.
I have requested part serval times, you are told they can only be supplied to an authorized installer.
I have now contacted another installer, who have contacted Origin, but the are still waiting for a reply.
The 20yr warranty is an absolute farce!

The Origin window and French door look great and is better even than we hoped. Only installed today by Crystal Clear so hopefully we will continue to be as pleased in years to come.

The worst customer care I have ever experienced. Origin caused weeks of delays to our project and could not have cared less. The doors (when they were finally installed) are great but go elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect as a paying customer! Not the experience I expected at all.
Edit: Our doors were directly from Origin, no third parties involved. The error was on Origin's side.

2nd edit: Origin took over a month to send a poor and extremely empty apology via email - I had to chase for this respose. No offer of compensation. Avoid giving this company your money.

We had bifold doors installed in 2022 and whilst they look really nice there is a clear fault with the manufacturing. It seems this company often blame the installer but the issue for us is that the doors are impossible to close (no matter how hard you try to slam them shut) on a sunny day when direct sun/heat are on the doors. Now this cannot be an install issue because they close easily with little effort at night or first thing in the morning or on a cloudy day. They are also extremely difficult to open when there is direct sunlight on them too, basically the one time you want to open them. If you have a south facing garden the I would seriously look for an alternative to this company

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend North West Bifolds to anyone! Steve’s approach is relaxed, informative and not pushy at all. We visited his showroom and purchased a combination of 7 windows, sliders and Bifolds from him. We mixed Origin and Smart systems based on his advice and knowledge to achieve what we wanted and to suit our budget! His team are excellent and the 2 days of install was seamless with zero issues whatsoever! Faultless and we’re thrilled with the end result! Thanks again Steve. Cheers - Graham & Kat

I am really happy with the bifold doors from Origin. Very smooth mechanism and the installation team from Ekco were fantastic.

We've had our original sliding doors for almost 9 months and no issues so far. There were some initial problems with a leak but the hbd Systems installers worked out how that the screws needed sealing and that fixed the problem. Happy with our doors so far apart from a scratch in the glass at the top which hasn't been fixed.

A great product which was recommended to us by HBD Systems and our architect. We wanted the “crittall” look for our doors and windows but with all the modern security and energy efficiency. So pleased with our Origin doors and windows. They really look incredible and have given our home the wow factor we were looking for. We had external and internal doors. The internal steel look is just beautiful and has totally changed and updated the inside of our home with out needing to do major refurbishments.

We renovated our retirement house and chose Origin reassured by the 20 year guarantee. After 5 years one of the windows has blown, a part of the structure of the bay window is loose a rubber seal has fallen out of our bathroom window and the rubber seal on our bi-fold doors drags on the floor! Apparently the glass is not made by Origin so nothing to do with them (we sent a photo) and in an email to us they want £350 to come and look at our problems! We placed the order with Origin Stewart House Castle Estate Coronation Road Cressex Business Park High Wycombe which is very local to us! Origin arranged themselves (no third party) the making supply and fitting of all the windows and doors in our house including the glass. We supplied the order no to Origin but despite the guarantee are not interested in addressing any of the issues….even the non related glass issues which they organised themselves!

Saw several potential providers of bifold doors and had several quotes. After careful research and recommendations we visited HBD Systems in St Albans to see check we had shortlisted the right suppliers. From the moment we went in we greeted by a professional sales assistant, who knew his stuff and listened carefully to what we wanted to achieve. We opted for Origin Bi folds as they looked great and had a solid reputation for reliable quality. The order process and payment options were easy, and the scheduling for delivery and installation went ahead of initial plan (which was great). The bi folds were installed in 1 day, there was no mess and no need for redecorating, the installers were polite and friendly and did a great job (thank you HBD Systems). Love the bi folds and would highly recommend Origin and HBD for all you door needs.

We were considering the replacement of some old aluminium sliding patio doors which no longer seemed to prevent draughts or heat loss but were reluctant to consider changing to UPVC because our house dates from the 1920’s and has old metal windows. We visited BJB Windows near Guildford in Surrey and were very glad we did. The staff there were excellent and gave us all the information we needed and explained the benefits and qualities of Origin products - which we had never heard of before. The quality is outstanding, they are very solid and smooth in operation, and look great too. Thank you Origin and BJB. We would recommend you both without hesitation.
