OK, this is a short comment on the App Cleaner & Uninstaller for MacOS from Nektony. I downloaded and tried at least 10 uninstallers from the App Store in an attempt to have something I could use to remove apps from my Mac as simply deleting the .app from the Applications folder seemed way too insufficient. I found them all to be lacking until I got my hands on the Nektony App Cleaner & Uninstaller. It was so good I was compelled to pay for it! If you know me you'd know what high praise that is! :-)

You'd think that an app cleaner the likes of AppDelete or AppCleaner is all you need, until you come across Nektony's suite of apps, of which I have used App Cleaner & Uninstaller for the last few years.

I started with version 7.8, and am now using version 9.1.x. I have had the pleasure of seeing the app grow over two generations.

Long-time users will appreciate the familiarity while staying abreast with the latest macOS underpinnings for accurate/ better/ complete removal of apps, whereas new users will find the app intuitive and easy to get started with.

The app interface is modern and caters brilliantly both to beginners and for the needs of professional users who like or may want a granular control over things. There is a wealth of information here, and yet, the app never becomes intimidating.

What’s more - this is not just an app cleaner. There is more to the App Cleaner & Uninstaller. You can:
- manage extensions,
- startup programs,
- delete remaining files, and
- update apps from within this one!

That last bit is something that other cleaner apps do not offer, and is really helpful.

About Support: No software is truly worth its price if it comes as is, without support. When things go wrong, or you need human assistance, that is when you realize whether something has been an investment, a help, something you can rely on, or whether you need to look elsewhere. Suffice to say, Nektony support team has your back when you need them, and will respond faster than multi-million dollar corporations with extensive support teams.

Go for it - it is a comprehensive piece of software that does what it claims to do- and then some.

App Cleaner & Uninstaller is a perfect tool for completely removing (sometimes hideous) software, without loosing the possibility to keep important structural data and authentication secrets. It also provides an efficient and controlled way to update all your apps. All this in a user-focused, logical interface and with a quick and friendly support. TOP.

I have been using App Cleaner & Uninstaller on macOS for many years, starting on an old iMac and now on a MacBook Pro, and it has always been one of the most reliable utilities on my system.

Like the title says, Mac Cleaner Pro is a must have utility for Mac owners. The various tools are incredibly useful, the price is reasonable, and as good as the product is, the customer support is even better. The (very) few times I've had any issues, the response has been helpful and nearly instantaneous.

I’ve installed Nektony App Cleaner & Uninstaller on all 100% of my Macs, and it is easily the best solution on the market. While Apple’s default advice is to simply drag apps to the Trash, that method notoriously leaves behind hidden files and digital clutter.

Nektony actually cleans up properly, removing unneeded browser extensions and related files that other methods miss. Let me share a real-life experience: the group company I work for previously required employees to install a computer security software that occupied over half of the running memory. Nektony is renowned for developing exceptional software for Apple computers. From the moment I began using MacCleaner Pro several years ago, I was impressed by the thoughtful design and functionality of their products. It's clear that they have a team of top-notch software engineers dedicated to creating the highest-quality software available.

I purchased App Cleaner & Uninstaller. The program has a simple yet comprehensive interface, and works very well. I compared it to other similar programs and it removed the most files when uninstalling another program. It also seems to work without any issues with MacOS 26 as advertised. I customer service about my subscription and the Chief Technical Officer promptly responded and resolved the issue.

I had a small issue with the ap. after contacting the team, they were able to resolve the problem with a single email.
This is the only ap I know of that can read Vision (vsdx) files and I who use the Vision application is a life saver, the ap.has been able to open even the largest vision drawing. If you use Visio and transfer files to a tablet you need this ap.

Very responsive and effective customer service when encountering problem. The software is very useful and easy to use.

Very effective software suite. Facilitates complete uninstalls and so much more. Just move the app to the trash and it finds any and all miscellaneous components installed in the system and user libraries. Very useful for rooting out problems and cleaning up wasted drive space, large files, duplicate files, caches, etc. Monitors available updates on all installed apps and can run batch updates on most. to back it all up, Yuriy's support and customer service is phenomenal — fast and thorough, even from Ukraine!

I have been using Apple for nearly five decades and now have two beloved 26in iMacs, one a 2012 32 bit 10.13.6 system and the other a 2020 64bit 15.6.1 system. The days of stand alone software have gone and most now exploit web connections et al that get me edgy. I use two programmes to help my detective work, App Cleaner and Little Snitch (which allows me to monitor AND control connections).
Take my latest problem, "Free" Adobe Reader which began to demand subscriptions of £30pm (and then quit) which is the last thing I need to do when looking at my PDF energy bills! (Preview is excellent with PDF docs but doesn't easily scan multiple pages as well). My first task was to remove all Adobe items on my 64bit iMac, App Cleaner showed over 4,000 items (!!!) which it remove easily, though make sure you also check "start up programmes" as several inactive ones apparently escaped the check and required individual removal. This reported Acrobat Reader problem appears due to the latest updates so part of the solution is to reinstall a legacy 32bit version (works on 64bit) and then control activity. App Cleaner shows all the new download items (4,034 of them) then running Reader with Little Snitch allows you to block connections, you will have to experiment to find if any are essential. App Cleaner also show an Acrobat startup "Synchroniser" which I doubt is needed and was disabled. Anyhow it now all works, and make sure you remove any updating links!
So the beauty of App Cleaner and its siblings is that you can track, and control, what an installation does; far beyond just recovering memory. Its removal history is vital in tracking operation.
On another note, if you have a sample programme that has run out of time before you were able to assess it fully, try removing everything belonging to it (not the programme itself) and you will regain the full trial period.
You will have to experiment, but at least you can see what is going on.
I add a note of warning which I have just discovered, App Cleaner scans all disks to locate system items; Carbon Copy Cloner can create, and auto update, an emergency bootable drive (older 32bit system only) which App Cleaner will add to its scans and include in its lists. So make sure you go to Cleaner/settings/locations and remove any such reference in "extra folders" that might confuse your efforts. Does not apply to current 64bit systems.
