I don't normally do reviews but as this may affect your health here goes... I spend a lot of time in front of a laptop as I work in IT and I thought the Navamax EMS Muscle stimulator would be a useful aid in reclaiming some lost fitness. I ordered the unit, and was seduced buy the heavy discount to buy two packs. Delivery was on time and I carefully read the instructions charged the unit and was ready for the first use. I chose a lower mid setting 12, and used for 13 minutes. below the 20-30 minutes recommended. During the use I could feel my stomach muscles working and a hot tingle, which I thought must be normal. At 13 minutes, it was too uncomfortable and I removed the pad to find a round burn mark which aligns with the connection point between pad and controller.
The burn I found out was quite deep and still covered by a scab 2 weeks after.
I contacted NAVAMAX support to inform them of the issue including photo's of the burn. I asked for the full refund as offered by the their web site as I had lost confidence in the product and clearly I did not want to repeat the process again.
I was surprised by their customer service response which was to offer a 50% refund and I could keep the item and continue to use it! A further firm reply restated my desire to return the unit for a full refund as the unit is dangerous and certainly NOT usable. This was responded to with a a referral to the manager who now offered 75% refund to save me the trouble of returning the unit. again no mention of quality or concern for the safe use of their product.
By now my anger is starting to rise. So I replied again carefully describing the issue, the burn and re attaching the photo. Clearly stating their web site offered a 30 days return, which is what I was requesting, to state the product is unusable and not safe. I was mortified, when I received exactly the same response offering a 75% refund. I cannot comprehend how in this day and age a seemingly international company as NO regard for customer safety and clearly does not follow its own policies. I contacted them a further 3 times, in the end I gave up and accepted a 75% refund. My final e-mail to them was to complain and wanting to speak with a person in a responsible position, I wanted to know why were they not interested in harm caused by their product. I received what I would describe as an automated reply, telling me if I wanted a refund, I would need to return an UN_OPENED box with 30 days, if the box had been opened or later than 30 days, then NO REFUND. In summary the 30 day refund statement on their web site is meaningless and you have NO protection if the goods are faulty. In my opinion, DO NOT BUY from NAVAMAX!
