Went to change dates as mother has covid and couldn't travel in 3 days time, wouldn't allow me to change dates as they said they're stopping service from Cardiff to London because of lack of travellers (the buses are never empty on this journey and my mother travels there atleast 5/6 times a year) so I asked for refund as it out of my mother's control that megabus have stopped service and was told she couldn't have a refund. Really don't understand as she is entitled to a refund if the issue is with megabus services being unavailable. I'm using the service myself in the coming weeks, if I could change to national express, I would as they don't deserve our custom!

This company is extremely unprofessional I booked a trip that was supposed to depart at 12:30 they ended up leaving way earlier at 12:19 without any heads up. I called them to find where my bus was and the lady put me on hold twice for ten minutes and couldn’t answer any of my questions while I was waiting in the cold. She told me to rebook but I still had to pay more as it was the day of the trip plus the booking fee. This company just wants to take your money. I don’t recommend at all!

Do not take mega bus they changed pick up point with no warning left me stranded at pick up point which was supposed to be according to Mr reservation flying J. Had a connection in Toronto to catch ended up paying for a Uber

Please don’t waste your money on this service. The staff are completely unhelpful & ignorant. We were getting a bus to Manchester, arrived 15 mins before arrival, asked the bus driver if it was the right bus & he said no (it was). When we asked if we could get the next bus they said we’d have to pay again. I’d rather be stranded than give them more money. Absolute disgrace of a company.

Deep dissatisfaction with my recent journey from Edinburgh to Glasgow on 26/10/2024. I feel compelled to request compensation due to the substandard service I experienced.
The primary issues I encountered were:

Unsanitary Coach Conditions

- Visible dirt and debris throughout the bus
- Sticky residue on several seats
- Unpleasant odors in the cabin
- Clearly uncleaned surfaces from previous journeys

Excessive Journey Duration

- Scheduled arrival time was significantly delayed
- Journey took considerably longer than advertised
- No clear communication about the extended travel time
- Lost valuable time due to these delays

These conditions fell well below the standard of service I expect from Megabus, particularly given your company's commitment to providing comfortable and efficient travel solutions. The journey was not only uncomfortable but also impacted my schedule significantly.

This is the worst Coach Service company in the UK. Always late.
It’s my 105th time and always late by 1/2 hours. Today, it’s late by 2 hours again.
I am not going to use this coach company again.

The bus was late starting...in both directions

Traveled from medowhall to Aberdeen
The bus was nearly an hour late
Once I got onto the coach I had payed extra for a reserved seat and there was people sat in them and refused to move
The bus driver was so late he put on our bags and didn't help dispute seating problems
I left my house at 11am and didn't arrive at Aberdeen till 1.10 am because we was late from medowhall I missed the change over coach and had to wait an hour for the next connection
I've payed for a return but due to the mess around I'll be catching the train home
Spending more money and not being able to get a refund from the return
In the future I won't be using them again

Last Wednesday, my bf and I wanted to visit Niagara Falls and booked a trip from Toronto with Megabus. Early in the morning, we were at the station to board. But unfortunately our tickets were not valid for that day but the week after (when we’re already back in Europe).
We asked the Megabus service lady at the station who could not help us but told us to contact Megabus customer service online. Which we did. The first response was quick and included links to “trade-in” our tickets. So we were looking forward to having our trip on that day still. But this trade in thing was very expensive (about the price that we already paid or even more on top). So this was simply too expensive and therefore not an affordable option for us. Later we wanted to take a look for the next day but the “trade in” did not work anymore. I explained that unlucky situation to customer service many times and kindly asked for a refund. A cancellation should be possible, at least when the trip is one week ahead and still other people could book those tickets and go on that trip. But for Megabus it’s not possible. They offered a code that I could use within one year, but it does not make sense since it’s not valid where I’m from and I won’t return to Canada any time soon. So that’s it. I regret that I haven’t checked those reviews here before I booked.

Accessible travel made very difficult
The station agent unfortunately has no idea how to book a ticket for someone with a disability travelling with a pca. Called the headoffice for help who then insisted i had to book on the phone ( not true and consequently charged service fees when i went into the station to book and verify my disability) getting a partial refund was a gigantic headache and come to find out from a supervisor the rep on the phone also provided me with wrong information. They refused to refund me the booking fee despite the station agent being the one to call. I request and state accessibility and the easiest seats for me on.the bus were also blocked off. Calls to the station manager and emails to mega bus and requests for a supervisor have all been ignored. It is absolutely disgusting that in 2024 theres still so much discrimination and a complete lack of training and knowledge when it comes to assisting disabled travellers. I've gotten no where and unfortunately all these issues and mega bus' instance over keeping $5 shows me that disabled travellers are not welcome. Trying to have change and knowledge spread across megabus and my local station manager just isnt their priority. Do not recommend.

Terrible Experience with a Rude Bus Driver from Megabus. My recent trip from Toronto to Niagara Falls was ruined by an extremely rude bus driver in the morning/early afternoon on the 26th of September.

We were traveling with 5 persons where the bus-driver who showed a terrible attitude towards us by screaming very aggressively towards us and made us look ridiculous.

He was acting dismissive and unprofessional when my girlfriend asked a simple question about the bus stops, responding with aggressive and sarcastic.

My girlfriend is deaf on one of her ears which may have made him frustrated. At the point, when my girlfriend asked if this was the correct stop for Niagara Falls, the driver responded very aggressively.

There are two bus stops in Niagara Falls, and we simply wanted to confirm we were at the right one. His behaviour made the ride and our trip uncomfortable and stressful as this bad experience impacted our trip towards us. As paying customers, the way he treated us was beyond unacceptable and that we felt also very disrespected. It’s a shame because Niagara Falls itself is a beautiful scenic, but having to deal with such an unprofessional and rude driver completely overshadowed the experience.

He had no reason to react so extremely rude. it costs nothing to be nice and respectful to each other and that besides not answering my girlfriend's question he made fun of her.

The bus driver could just react normally to my girlfriend when she questioned something towards the bus driver. Also not to forget to mention about how uncomfortable and dirty the bus was on all of our seats where we were sitting with five people.

I strongly recommend avoiding the Mega Bus service if you want to enjoy your trip without being treated disrespectfully and have a comfortable and clean ride.

Megabus scams their customers. Please do not trust this company with your money.
I bought a ticket for one price, then had to exchange the ticket due to changing my travel date. My original ticket's price was higher than my new ticket. The difference was not refunded or credited towards me in any way. It was a $33 difference - that Megabus has now stolen from me - my money has disappeared into the void of this company.
I called their customer service about this issue and they could do nothing to help me, nor even offer any discount code, etc.
I really advise people not to use this company, take Via Rail instead. Their customer service is always helpful, HONEST, and trustworthy.

Thirty minutes late leaving Leeds put us over one hour late arriving in Leicester. The drop in Leicester is on the outskirts of town between two malls, very confusing for tourists. Asked for info from a driver in Leeds and he acted like I was bothering him. The second again seemed to be put out by people's questions. The third driver was upset about something. I'll give an extra star for the bus being clean. We have been traveling in the UK for the past three week and this the worst experience to date

They deserve no star because their service is the most horrible I've ever witnessed. How could you delay passengers for almost 2hrs plus at Victoria Coach Station London and there's no customer service to come around to keep people calm... MEGABUS YOU'RE DISGUSTING. I can't recommend you for an enemy

I was so disappointed by this bus they didn’t come at right time we supposed to get going at 12:35 we left at 2:00 we wait like 1 hour and they fined stupid excuse that we were lost the first bus i never want to travel with bus never again they disgust me and their sit is uncomfortable and they was rude with us!

Megabus is never on time! The buses are VERY uncomfortable! The seats feel sticky and wet! Not to mention the price increase! If the bus was prompt and the bus was clean I wouldn't mind the price increase. But the quality has to match the price! Very disappointed!

Thoroughly disappointing experience! First time on public transport for 15 years. I was slightly exited but hugely let down by an attitude that was less than hospitable. Bad beyond words. Fuming!!

I was supposed to get a bus to leave at 2pm, at 2:05 while literally all of us are lining up they inform us that the ride is cancelled because they couldn’t find a rider….. what???? I had a super important meeting in Toronto for 7pm and the only bus they could get me on was 8pm. Can’t freaking believe how disorganized this was and how this was even possible with how packed this bus was going to be.

Profit over People

My mom, an elderly woman, bought a ticket from the town we live in to Toronto not realizing the bus went to the Toronto airport, which is where she was going. When we noticed that, we tried to: (i) change her ticket (it was too late); or (ii) purchase a ticket for the other lag of the journey (TO downtown to TO airport) but you cannot buy tickets from downtown TO to the TO airport. My mother asked the employee if she could stay on the bus to complete her journey (instead of having to transfer to the UP train), the answer was a curt "not unless you have the right ticket".

I know it was not a seating issue, because it was not possible to purchase a ticket for that second lag. It was purely because they charge more than double to go the extra half an hour to the airport... And we would have paid it, if we could have.

I am absolutely disgusted and would NEVER recommend MegaBus to anybody!!
