I had to update my review about Mavis Discount Tire in Riverhead after speaking with Juan, the manager, today. I was reviewing my bill and noticed I was charged for something I didn't want. He was very helpful and took it off my bill. He also apologized again for the terrible experience I had. While I won't travel an hour away for my tires to this location again, they were very helpful and apologetic for the experience I had. My recommendation would be to call and speak with Juan to order tires, get a tire quote, and set up an appointment. It seems that there is a disconnect between the website and the business. Thanks again for you help today, Juan. Much appreciated.

Very unhappy with my experience. I live about an hour away and had been told it would be cheaper to get my tires done in Riverhead. When I made my quote online, the total was $640, so I thought it would be cheaper to go to Riverhead. A week prior, I had made a 9am appointment. I showed up at 8:45am the day of my appointment and was told it would take two hours. I also added on an oil change ($100) - they said it was no problem. Thankfully, my Mom needed to run errands (one of them being Costco, which we went to last because we had refrigerated and frozen items) in Riverhead so she picked me up. I never heard from Mavis but it was 11:45 (3 hours instead of 2) so I figured it must be done. We went back and my car was STILL in the same spot, tires untouched. Juan, the head manager, said something happened and he was very sorry. My car was going to be a priority and the new tires & oil change would be done in 40 minutes. 20 minutes later, he came out to tell me that the tires I had reserved never showed up to the shop so he was going to give me a 'far superior' tires for the same price and a lifetime guarantee incase anything happens to the tires. An hour and fifteen minutes from the time we arrived, my car was finally done. Now - the bill came out to $960 for four new tires & an oil change. He told me when you reserve online and get a tire quote, it doesn't account for tax and labor. As if the story couldn't get any better, my brother went to Southampton Tire this same day and paid the SAME price, he didn't have an appointment, and was in/out of there within an hour. I am very ashamed of this business and I understand things happen but I wish I had listened to the reviews before making the appointment. We also had to throw half of the Costco items away because they had thawed out while waiting there.

I have been a Riverhead Mavis customer for many year’s and they always are reliable, polite and dependable. They have always taken the time to explain things and do what they say they are going to do. They have always been honest and treat customers with respect. Always feel good when I leave. Love this place!

0 stars is sadly not an option here
0 stars is sadly not an option here, I am currently sitting in the store at 9pm at night 9 hours after I dropped my car off to be serviced. It is still sitting on the lift with nothing being worked on and my rim sitting on the floor. I was originally quoted 2-3 hours then when I arrived the riverhead location I was quoted 4-5 hours because “there are quite a few cars ahead of me”. Ahead of my appointment I might add, A time that is supposed to be reserved for my car to be serviced, at mavis tire an appointment means your car will be sitting in the lot until 10 mins before the location closes. The front desk was not accommodating besides disrespectful remarks to my 19 yr old self and my mother and in addition discriminating remarks to their employees. Do yourself a favor and go to firestone.
