Absolute horseshit card. I got a $25 card for Christmas & tried to use it. It automatically declined- & no this was not user error, I made sure to activate my card and check the status before going in store to make a purchase. With any other gift-card like this (specifically the visa ones aka the better option) if your total charge is more than the amount on your card it just takes the card amount and you pay the difference. Instead I was completely embarrassed by the cashier with crowds of people behind me watching as she said it declined and there was no balance. I had to end up using cash which I was saving for a different purchase. I then check the website again & my status says I have to call the number on the back of the card. I proceed to wait TWENTY-FIVE minutes before ever hearing the voice of a real person. Who THEN tells me I’m shit out of luck and I have to be sent an entire new card which will arrive in two weeks. Don’t waste your time and buy this card, go with the Visa gift cards!! They have never been this much of a pain & now I feel like I have to go leave a 5 star review for them because this card has pissed me off so much. Happy holidays

Complete and utter garbage.
Do not get these under any circumstances.
These garbage giftcards do not work on digital merchants and the phone number listed is a waste of time and energy

If I could give this 0 stars I would!!!! Feels like a scam! $100 in gift cards that I cannot use and no live representative to speak with!! Soooooo frustrating!!!!! Scam. Scam. Scam.

Updated- after numerous emails they sent me another card with the funds available. I used it immediately. It worked. Still not worth the hassle and would never purchase again but for anyone that is in this position, keep emailing!

Complete trash card is worthless..$200 and cant buy anything because it gets flagged as fraudulent..call customer service they are all in india..they are dumb a$$e$ and have no idea what they are even saying. I would highly recommend to never buy a gift card from them ever!

My mom got me one for a present, still trying to activate it been on hold for 30mins waiting for a representative to help get it activated all because website won't allow me to activate it. I have never in my life had such a hard time activating a card. She just wasted her money on all of us should've just gotten a visa one because atleast they are easy to activate and customer service department is 1000× better

I am a caregiver for a teacher who has had multiple surgeries in the past few years for thyroid cancer, adrenal gland issues, total hysterectomy and related disorders. In October, her father purchased her a $500 Mastercard Giftcard at a Walgreens in New Jersey. When she received it through the mail at her Florida address, we discovered that here was no remaking value in the card and that it apparently been used in Nee Jersey (not by her father who is a reputable business owner). We immediately contacted Mastercard Customer Service to report the issue which they assured us would be investigated. After not hearing for about 2 weeks, we contacted customer service again only to be told that the invested closed and our request to have the issue rectified was denied. No reason was provided and there was no option to appeal.

You can imagine the medical bills that have piled up for a teacher with multiple afflictions which can’t come close to being paid off by a Florida teacher, the lowest paid teachers in the country.

I’m sure Mastercard is proud to have been able to add their $500 back into their $500 billion plus total worth and the teacher be damned.

I went to use a $50.00 Mastercard gift card and low and behold someone in MN used it at a Best Buy on December 22, 2025..I just got it in the mail along with 3 other cards..they used $33 plus with a balance of $17.. I reported immediately on the 22nd and they said they would investigate and it could take up to 90 day..I received an email today December 26 and they said they reviewed the evidence and I lost the dispute..I live in MA..a 90 day investigation took less than 3 days mind you we had Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so I’m sure it was not investigated at all ..I have asked for a copy of the evidence have not heard back..I believe the BBB should investigate this company..I bought 4 cards ..I still have 2 that are gift but I acitivated them so I could see if they had been compromised so far no but one is a pretty large sum so it make me very nervous..terrible company ..I am the victim but the perpetrator get the benefit of my money..so sick of this ..

Now that I read the other reviews, I will warn everyone I know not to buy a mastercard gift card. I tried to use my card today ($75). It was immediately declined. I tried to use it two more stops and declined at every place. I called and told the customer service (in Asia and I couldn't understand the person) that the card didn't work. They told me it was shut down for security reasons and they would have to send me a new card. 7-10 business days. This is a scam!

Recieved card as work bonus. As soon as i activated my card all $200 of it was used in Boston on Draftkings. I live in California. Calling the number on back was a complete waste of time. No actual person to talk to. I'm beyond pissed off!

Mastercard fraud. A few months ago I bought a $100 Mastercard gift card. Two days ago, a person opened this card in my presence to use it. Imagine our surprise when we were told that the card had already been used. I had to pay for his purchase. DO NOT BUY MASTERCARD GIFT CARDS, THEY STEAL MONEY EVEN BEFORE THE CARD REACHES YOU. The secret code had been removed from this card.

I just activated my card. And when I used it declined. I lost $125.from these SOB. Everytime I call it goes to another number which are scamer. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE A MASTERCARD.NEVER!!! I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Got the card and as soon as I activated it the funds were used by hackers to do purchases on TikTok when contacted company they deny all claims DONT BUY THIS CARD!!! It’s a scam

I purchased six e-mastercard giftcards at mastergiftcard.com to give as gifts. I didn't read the reviews until after I had purchased b/c I thought it was a legitimate MasterCard site! It is NOT. I tried one of the cards, just to ensure it worked before giving it out, and it was declined to add to my Apple Wallet. I called customer service, and they read a script and are of no help. They said to print out the info and bring it to use in a store b/c it is unable to be added to a wallet. So I tried that immediately, upon which three different retailers-- Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Whole Foods all said they weren't able to to it. So then I called again, and they said to use it online to purchase something, so I tried Nordstrom online, Target online and their own website MastercardGiftcard.com-- to purchase a physical card! All declined for security reasons. I have spent countless hours on the phone with them, and they have transferred me to the department that handles issues, and each time I got disconnected after having been on hold and hearing music. This is a fraudulent company by all appearances, as I have spent hundreds of dollars on cards with them and have only wasted hours upon hours of time trying to get this issue resolved. Do not purchase from them. You have been forewarned.

I have a gift card that was provided to my children from their grandparents and it does not work. Ive tried activating it online, via phone, and i continue to get errors and I am entering them the right way. I attempted to contact customer service twice, they confirmed a $100 is on the card,but offered no resolution for fixing the error. They continued to say activate it via phone and ive been doing that for the past 2 days. Now they blocked my #. They need to be shut down for unprofessionalism and for not sending me the money some other way or even offering to mail me a new card. Their website continues to give me system errors as well and they offered no resolution.

If I could give zero Stars I would. I've tried using this gift card two separate occasions and there is more than enough money on there but keeps getting declined. I called the 1-800 number they told me the system is detecting an unsafe alert. My response was well you have all my information the coast is clear it's me trying to use it. The response was there's nothing we can do it's the system that is blocking this transaction. I am pissed! Never again am I getting a MasterCard gift card. The way these guys play it is thank you for your money now it's our rules tough s*** for you

Fraudulent company and service. I’m in CA and the card was never used. To find out it was spent in Texas. Must be an in-house scheme. I called customer service to inquire dispute and card replacement 1x before to due the cvv pealed off. They were of absolutely no help.

Insanely poor - card with $35 cannot be added to Apple Pay. "Contact your card issuer for more information."

Waited 10 mins to chat to a human, zero help - told me to spend online, waited 30 mins to chat to a supervisor to wait to terrible music to which no one showed up...

I was robbed by a company that has Mastercard branding..

Bought a Mastercard gift card, overnight the card lost $120 online, then declined the dispute. Do not buy one of the cards from anywhere even Walgreens

Similar to others had to purchase to a payment. Online was declined. This locked up the card and now have to wait 7 - 10 business days for a replacement. This is a scam in the sense that there is no guarantee that the next attempt will not lock up the card. So I have given money that might take a couple month to recoup all they while this company can sit on the money and make interest. This segment of cards on the whole smell like a whole lot of (redacted word). I can just envision getting the card a month later and now mysteriously there is no funds on it or some removed the funds and I will be in this cycle going nowhere for a year.
