- Located at a former lumber mill, Mashpi Lodge was built using the latest techniques in sustainable construction in order to prevent damage to the forest, with much of the structure having been preassembled in Quito and designed around the topography of the site to prevent further damage to the trees. Reconnect with nature
Knowledgeable guides who share their love of nature and showed the quiet beauty of Mashpi. The trails are narrow and a bit slippery at points, but I (65yo in ok shape) was able to do with an occasional helping hand. Swim in the waterfall pool if you get the chance - it’s so worth it!! And the food was superb as were the cocktails. A most memorable trip.
