This hotel is marvelous in every aspect!
This hotel is marvelous in every aspect that you would expect from a first class hotel. Forget the major Hotel chains formula and stay in the old town at this elegant hotel. The staff was the best, the reconstruction of the building after a fire took 4 1/2 years and the attention to detail is obvious. The quaint cafe in the courtyard with its flowers and greenery are beautiful, comforting and peaceful. The small Pre Columbian museum across the street is unexpectedly exceptional with objects from 5,000 years ago until the beginning of the Inca civilization.
The only negative would be the staff in the restaurant are poorly trained. Not like the staff in the rest of the hotel which were flawless. I had some needs that were out of the ordinary and they were perfectly handled. The concierge and front desk were on it.

We went for a drink on the terrace
We went for a drink on the terrace, 8 of us, after making a reservation to do so, before our dinner there. We waited 45 minutes for our drink; my sister did not receive hers till right before we left. Nice people, but not nearly enough of them. Cutting corners is never good at a place like that - very unsatisfactory. Dinner there was fine. Again nice people; you need more of them.
