March House Farm Arvostelua 

Charged me £6.40 for a small white sliced loaf and 4 baking potatoes. Pineapples priced at £4.50, sweetheart cabbage at £4.25 and lemons at 95p each.

I visited the cafe today with a few friends from my cycling club. I asked if I could simply order beans on toast rather than the ‘Boston Beans on Toast’, which comes with bacon, chorizo and egg, and was told that would be fine. I ordered a large Americano to go with it. When it came to pay, I was told it would be £15:25 (£11:95 and £3:30). I explained that I had simply had one slice of toast with a portion of beans and a coffee. The chap on the till said it was priced as a ‘breakfast’. Despite my polite protestations that it wasn’t a breakfast but simply one slice of toast with a portion of beans he insisted that was the price. I told him that was a shameful price but, with reluctance, paid. I then raised the issue with a manager (who had taken the order); he was quite dismissive, saying it was charged as a breakfast and that he didn’t set the prices. I appreciate there are overheads running a cafe, but this is, quite frankly, an absolute rip-off, and the dismissive, couldn’t-care-less attitude of the manager does the place no favours. Avoid or beware.

Went for the first time on Saturday
I phoned first last Thursday left a message they got back the next day needed to know the meat was grass fed the farm shop was immaculate butchery counter well laid out the man serving was very pleasant the meat was very well butchered
Bought quite a lot I had the filet steak for dinner in the evening melted in the mouth had the pork loin chops yesterday really lovely definitely going back only one issue it’s not very well signed posted ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Purchased a superb sirloin of beef joint from this fantastic gem of a deli.
Best roast beef dinner we have ever had.

For the second year in a row I ordered all my meat for Christmas from March House Farm along with potatoes and other vegetables. The service was great and more importantly everything from the goose and beef to the bacon and veg was excellent. So much tastier than supermarket meat.

I usually go to a London farmers’ market to buy their meat but took the trip to Great Dalby (near Melton Mowbray) to pick up this time. Very impressed with their new cafe which interestingly is used as a coffee/lunch stopping point for cyclists doing a tour of the local countryside as well as shoppers.
