Lack of communication and transparency caused unnecessary stress
Danielle was very responsive and helpful when it came to finding a car and speaking to the dealership prior to agreeing to working with them
However I feel I was promised a lower rate and it kept going up and when I questioned it the response was “this is the final quote”. I believe we should be informed that the final figure may not be exactly the same as the initial quote we are offered so that we can make an informed decision, as I thought the rate I was given was definite until I read the contract.
When I signed the agreement and it came to the verification I had multiple people call me. On the day I was supposed to collect the car the dealership hadn’t received the money so I rang and was told it wouldn’t be paid until I had test driven the car but I’d already informed them that I have test driven the car twice to two different people.
Even the dealership said they had to send the same document five times because they did not receive it. I had a similar experience I was told to complete my ID check when I already had, and when I told them I had they said “no the ID check where you record a video” I said yes I’ve already done it and it says submitted? I think there may be an issue with their record keeping system.
Then they said that’s fine. I was advised not to go to the dealership to collect the car until I’ve heard from them so I asked if I can head to the dealership and was told yes if it’s ready and that once I upload a photo with the car they’ll release the money. It was the first thing I did when I got to the dealership, and I ended up waiting there for a WHOLE HOUR with my mum. They were not responsive to my texts.
I called twice and the dealership called once to chase them up but all they’d say is “it’s being processed now just give it 5-10 mins”. When I called the final time I was told “sometimes you’ve got to hound to get anywhere”. But why does that have to be the case?
This is my first time using car finance and it was a very stressful experience but I’ve finally got my car now. I think the issue is lack of communication and also lack of transparency. If those can be improved, I’m sure the service would be great.
