I booked and fully prepaid a car with Locauto at Turin Airport through Booking.com. When I arrived, Locauto refused to give me the car because I did not have an International Driving Permit.

My driving licence is a valid Moldovan licence issued after 2008, in the standard plastic card format, with all information in Latin characters (Romanian and English). The licence itself was not questioned and the only reason for refusal was the absence of an IDP.

The problem is not only the refusal, but the lack of transparency. The IDP requirement was not clearly highlighted during the booking process; it was hidden in a PDF document. I checked the requirements for driving in Italy before travelling and followed the rules applicable to my licence.

Despite refusing to provide the paid service, Locauto kept 100% of the rental amount.

Customers should be made clearly aware of such requirements before payment, not discover them only at the rental counter after travelling. I recommend carefully checking all hidden rental conditions before booking with Locauto.

Excellent service - the member of staff who helped us was kind, friendly and efficient. It made our whole experience perfect! Probably the best experience we’ve had with Locauto so far.

The car was given to us an hour before, the garage where the car needed to be left was pretty straightforward, they also had a keybox available to leave the key if your flight is really early/late and they are not open yet.

La disponibilità del personale

Personale scortese. Alla consegna del veicolo si effettua il controllo molto alla grossolana e poi casualmente giorni dopo compaiono graffi e addebiti. Inoltre alla riconsegna un tizio senza nemmeno badge né altro identificativo Locauto mi ha invitato a consegnare a lui le chiavi.

Che dire ...ormai mi servo solo da Locauto per la qualità del servizio, le auto sempre in ordine e la trasparenza dei costi quindi perché cambiare? E poi lo staff di Caselle Aeroporto è professionale e nel contempo amichevole e simpatico...bravi tutti!!

We arrived about 30 minutes earlier, and the staff were excellent, and spoke well in English. The handover of car was quick, even when we were 30 minutes early. The price was good. I would use Locauto again without hesitation.

Aeroporto Torino: servizio impeccabile, massima puntualità, auto che ha rispettato in pieno le aspettative e soprattutto nessuna richiesta di pre-blocco carta credito; prenotando direttamente dall'app o tramite servizio clienti, vengono accettate tutte le carte comprese le carte debito e viene richiesto solo 1 centesimo; noi fatto noleggio tramite app, ma servizio clienti efficiente che ci ha spiegato chiaramente come procedere. Per il futuro tutta la vita con questa compagnia
