I really don't understand the negative reviews of Cyberlink. I have been using products including PhotoDirector, Powe2Go and powerdvd for ages with great results and no support problems. I am just trying PowerDVD 18 and it's brilliant. It seems there may be other, unique reasons for some people having problems but I would personally highly recommend both the company and its products.

I bought Power DVD v. 17 the Friday before New Year's Eve. I cannot play any discs with it. It is permanently stuck on Region 1. I was given no chance to set the Region Code. I placed a trouble ticket, that still is sitting unanswered. This means, I have a useless product on my hands. Customer service is apparently non-existent, or their products have so many problems, that they cannot get to people's tickets in a timely manner. Either way, this seems like a company that is too big for its britches.

Complete rip off. Their software might work fine for a while but they update it in such a way that the software refuses to play anything forcing upgrades to their newer software which they support..(supposedly)

This company is a joke, walking the line as corrupt and con-artist like.

Never again.

Promises free download for PhotoDirector 5 Deluxe, good luck trying to get find download...Gives you activation key but NO area to input activation key. Real Rip off

So here is my review for both good and bad.

Pro's:
Fantastic software that works very well.
It is easy to learn and produces great videos (Depending on Your recording quality).
The software is quick compared to others I used when making a video.(Meaning how quick it makes a video file but I guess it is also based on your computer speed).
The software is updated fixing bugs and other features.
The software also contains so many options compared to others i have used and own.
Their support are fast and friendly.
That's it for my Pro's.

Con's:
The cost is high compared to other Video Software.
The worst is their upgrade policy and it is why i will never buy Cyberlink software again and here is why.

I purchased their top product and about a year and a half later I purchased an upgrade which went well. But about 1 month after I upgraded they released a new version. Because I had just upgraded I contacted them about getting a free upgraded since I had just done so. Well support tells me I have to buy the upgrade as they wont give the software for free. I told then i had just upgraded and if I had know a new version was coming out I would have waited for it then upgraded.
Well they stuck firm and would not help and siad I could buy the upgrade. I would not buy another upgrade as I had just done so and it would be like buying a full version as two upgrades is near full cost.

At this point I told them never will I buy their products again.
Now this happened back in October of 2016 but I only just found TrustPilot the other day. So I decided to write a fair review if their policy changed i do not know as I no longer visit their site.

As i said software is excellent and but their policy on upgrades is nuts and is the first company I have had such an issue with.

So if you want good software i recommend Cyberlink highly.
But if you buy and then a new version comes out after you just purchased don't expect a free upgrade even if you just purchased.
The only exception is within first 30 days when you can return product and then buy newer version. But if you are just over the 30 days expect to pay for upgrade if you want latest version.

NOW YOU CAN PAY EVEN MORE FOR SOMETHING THAT IS YOURS OUT RIGHT AND THEY SOLD YOU SUPPORT WITH THE PRODUCT,NOW PAY 29,95.00 FOR 2 MONTHS AND CALL IN AND THEY WILL HELP YOU WITH A SURVICE THAT SHOULD BE FREE AND GOOD.WOW THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS AND THEY HAVE ROBBED ME OF 60 DOLLARS FOR THEY WILL NOT HELP AND I HOPE EVERYONE LISTENS TO WHAT I HAVE SAID AND SAVE YOUR MONEY AND BUY FROM STORES NOT OVERE THE INTERNET PLEASE.EVER THING I SAY IS WITH OUT PREJUSTICE.
