Over complicated and under supported, waste of time unless you want to take a year understanding it

This is a scam company for sure. So last year I bought a serial key for YouCam 9. Now I am not able to activate the trial, it just keeps asking for upgrade.
So It seems I paid 35$ without knowing that license is just for one year as it never said that on their page and it's not mentioned in the emails they sent.
Waste of money, I will look for something else.

I have been buying PowerDVD Ultra from them for several years, a good program for playing 4K and FullHD movies. I also buy Power2Go from them. I recommend.

ANY AND EVERYTIME I TRY TO GET HELP ON A PROBLEM IT DOES NOT RESOLVE! The power director updates usually have a bug but for 7 months now I can't access the cloud to store file, can't put them up, can't get them down and even when I try to file a request or claim on line, it stalls, and then the answer takes to long to come back, when it does it's just a jumble!! they have the worse support of any company I've ever dealt with! Worse than a bad car repair shop...SERIOUSLY!

I bought a Pioneer uhd player/burner (newest model March of 22) for pc from the Pioneer store. Figure simple enough thing. I did my homework on this as far as requirements and such,, checked all the boxes.. Wouldn't play 4k uhd disc. Called Pioneer they need a 5 digit code it only
Gives 10 digit codes.. Pioneer support who then has to talk to cyberlink who at this point has not responded. 4days and going. I looked at the cyberlink site and seems they want $59 month/year site doesn't say. Call the number on the site and you get a different company who couldn't answer that question for fact or could I see it in writing. Site is ambiguous at best. It talks about uhd and more at the $59 mentioned above. I guess I'll find out once someone gets back with me if that's the case. (Thats having to buy software for uhd to function) It came with a cyberlink software suite (14) There at (21) currently. Getting ready to release 22 in april. At least That's when they released last year.. come on Pioneer 8 yr old software to watch newer uhd releases in a new product. According to cyberlink you can't do a patch to help with that because its not a paid version.. What? I just paid for both.. Supposed to come with purchase.. i wish I had read trust pilot prior to purchase.. I would have researched software options prior to. Way to frustrated now. One star is for anyone who thinks that you could just plug and play this player be warned. With the software side of the equation being so ambiguous really do your homework on both businesses. After nearly everything goes down automatically, it seemed shady to me from the beginning. I cancelled the program. They clearly paid a lot to get on google's first hits. So many questions about it lands you on their website and not another maybe more objective one. This is capitalism of the highest order. Don't download this. If you do and aren't careful, it is already too late. Click the program, be away from you PC to make a tea, and you probably have a subscription for life. Professionalism is everything else.

I bought cyberlink power2 go 13 from this company and paid online with downloading. Three months later, the programme ceased to work after troubling me off and on from the word go. I requested them to renew the download of a working programme and they are asking for a further year's subsciption to be able to do that !!! Rip off artistes and outright cheating for charging for a programme which has not been fit for purpose. Shameful to extract money like this from customers.

Very low quality software for video editing. I have bought and installed the software for video editing (Powerdirector and colordirector) and it took 7 hours to produce a 3 minute video. I also asked the company to try the colordirector software since there my trial was expired and i got no answer. The software doesn't use at all my GPU for render video. Very disappointed by the sotware and there is no option to cancel subscription now that's paid. Look for other software... this is not the 1st one as the splash says

I bought their YouCam 9 Deluxe software in January of this year. A month ago, I bought a new computer and tried to install YouCam 9 Deluxe on it but could not find a way to do so, so I contacted their support.

They claim that the download link is only good for 30 days and that I had to buy "Extended Download Service" in order to get the software that I, in good faith, purchased from them. What the hell is "Extended Download Service???"

I have all the emails and receipts from that purchase and NOWHERE on it does it say I would need this "Service." So, since I did not purchase "Extended Download Service," they have not said directly, but implied that in order to use the YouCam 9 Deluxe, I'd have to purchase it AGAIN.

Buyer beware. Total rip-off, "bait and switch" liars. All this hassle for a mediocre product. Never again. There is better software, with more honest developers out there.

It's always a frustrating experience to use software from CyberLink.

The download I get offered is identified as a "possible security risk".
They just want to sell frustration!...
And they can, because for some reason they occupied a niche.

Have purchased PowerDirector many many times in the past but lately their customer service stinks. After a bat install of W11 went wrong I had to reinstall, my reinstall goes like this, first I install PowerDirector 14 (because that installs smartsounds quicktracks, then I install later versions and quicktracks is carried forward and that way I get Quicktracks in my latest purchase of PowerDirector 20, but this time PD14 syas I have installed it to many time, well yes over any years I have re-installed it after formats, new computer etc. I contacted them and asked if they could allow me to install/activate, they replied I needed to send them a photo of the box, a copy of purchase receipt, well I don't keep receipts for items purchased over 6 years ago, nor the boxes, but I sent photos of the disks, the leaflets that came with it, serial number on the envelope's, but they just never answered and now ignoring me!

everything works great, there are really good effects updated regularly, and cool transitions, quality is great, workflow is awesome, you can even upload directly to youtube and vimeo and other websites, though i prefer adobe premiere's workflow, which is way easier, also you can download a lot of istock and shutterstock videos for free, which is great also, don't listen to the negative reviews.

upgraded PhotoDirector to version 12 in march 2021 to use on my stationary computer and eventually on my laptop. I ended up buying a MacBook and would like to install PhotoDirector on it, but not find anywhere to download the software on cyberlinks members page (I could not even download the Windows version I bought which would mean if I bought a new computer I would not be able to install it).
Contacted helpdesk and was told that I would have to buy a Mac version and that I could not install the windows version on a stationary pc and on a windows laptop.
Now I will definitely find an alternative photo editing software and never buy anything from Cyberlink ever again.
All other editing software will accept that you install it on both stationary pc and laptop.
Cannot recommend Cyberlink

This program is trash, it always three steps behind, you have to wait for it to catch up, and then yopu have a 50% chance of it crashing and not saving hour upon hours of work, buy another program, I wish i had

A current problem has reminded me why I replaced a number of paid for Cyberlink titles.
After a bit of a PC disaster I have tried to reinstall my Makeup Director only to be told I've exceeded the number allowed for registration (once). I cannot even sign in to either of my Cyberlink accounts (nothing happens after filling in the details). I tried changing my password but couldn't sign in to do this.
This company is probably the worse I've come across in decades of using computers and I would highly recommend everyone to use other software from a company who may care.

I have PowerDirector 15, it produces Blu Rays that squish the picture and produce fuzzy results. Then bought Power2Go...redundant program completely of no value for PowerDirector users. Wasted $100.00 on that so now have crappy unwatchable Blu Rays and out $100.00 more. Depressing.

I have been a Power Director user for years. I wanted to upgrade last year for work I was doing for my students at school, and was moved into a subscription. Just recently I got a Mac, and was unable to download my software for weeks. I tried their online help which is as useless as the member account site (which gives NO Information about your purchases and subscriptions other than the title of them), and finally in exasperation I called phone support. It was then I found out the Director Suite I had been moved into is ONLY FOR WINDOWS! I have almost a year left on my subscription, so I asked if I could have a refund or transfer to only Power Director (which is really all I use and is available for Mac) and was met with an inflexible “it’s only for Windows…no refunds….you can purchase a new subscription to only Power Director” (in a real: “we don’t care, we’ve already got your money” sort of way with no discussion).
So basically, this company has no interest in making things work for their customers, and once you’ve paid, you’re up a creek. This company also actively hides the information about your purchases and subscriptions on your member account, making it impossible to figure out what you have, and the details about it. I liked Power Director, and have gotten used to using it to good effect, but now I’m screwed unless I buy a second subscription to a program that is already included as part of my Suite subscription because the Suite is only for Windows and they refuse to product change to a lesser Mac application or pro rata refund my remaining year. This is some shady business practice, and I consider it outright theft. There are better options, and with this one you’ll certainly get screwed.

I have used PowerDirector for many years. On this machine I have used versions 7, 8, 10, 16 and 17 with super results until upgrading to PowerDirector 365. I could not edit using clip mode so I uninstalled the upgrade. The clip mode issue was now on PD 17 and PD 16. Support never understood the issue and kept sending useless things to try. I tried several times to explain the issue but they never understood. I finally told them they were useless and to just close the ticket and they agreed to both items. I finally got to the root of the issue after a month of frustration.

I don't believe that any of the 5 or 4 star ratings are real for Cyberlink. This company is a full-functioning scam. They will continue to charge you monthly after you cancel your subscription and even delete your entire account with them. Multiple phone number on their website are out-of-service, and the one that works I have called maybe 15-20 times over the last 2 months with no response. I have sent many emails (to the numerous email addresses listed on their website) and left voicemails with no response. I finally had to contact my credit card provider to report their charges as fraud to stop the monthly charges. Please do not use this software/company. Scam aside, their products were outdated, confusing to maneuver, and overall useless. We used their software for all of one hour before deciding we needed to cancel the subscription.
