Just had time to pop into the Quantum Fields site, really for a bit of 'window' shopping, to be instantly impressed by the developer's sales manager, Colin - very professional, knowledgeable and straightforward, leaving me to decide without hesitation that it would be well worthwhile to returning for an appointment, which most likely would result in a purchase. Most enjoyed today's outing.

I wanted to write a short update following 1 year later in our Linden Property at Quantum Fields in Littleport, Cambridgeshire.

1 year later, we still have no complaints with our Linden Property! No cracks, leaks, or problems in the slightest.

Colin, our sales rep has continued to check in with us every now and again to ensure that we remain happy with our home purchase and encouraged us to let them know if anything comes up.

We have also received numerous emails from Linden's aftercare team ensuring that we're happy with our property.

Looking into the future, my mother & father in-law are now looking to purchase a property on the estate following the excellent experience we have had with Linden.

I would encourage and highly recommend others to purchase a home from Linden Homes.

Extremely disappointed with my experience after purchasing my new-build home from Linden Homes.

At completion, I was never shown the water meter or given the opportunity to verify the opening meter reading for myself. Instead, I relied in good faith on the reading recorded by Linden Homes, believing it to be accurate.

Seventy-two days after moving in, my water supplier, Leep Utilities, issued a bill based on an actual meter reading of 125m³, resulting in an unexpectedly large charge. I immediately disputed the bill because I had never been given the opportunity to confirm the opening reading myself.

During the investigation, Linden Homes confirmed that they have no photograph of the opening meter reading, no photograph of the meter serial number, and no other independent evidence to support the reading they recorded before I completed my purchase.

What makes this even more concerning is that my water usage after that initial reading has been entirely normal. From the first actual reading of 125m³ in November 2025 to around 160m³ several months later, my consumption has increased by only about 35m³, demonstrating a consistent and modest level of household usage. This raises understandable questions about the very high consumption attributed to the first 72 days after completion.

I am not suggesting anyone should avoid paying for the water they genuinely use. My concern is that I am being asked to pay for water consumption that I do not believe I am responsible for, based on an opening meter reading that I had no opportunity to verify and for which Linden Homes has been unable to provide any supporting evidence.

To make matters worse, defects I reported shortly after moving in including a leak and other snagging issues were not dealt with promptly. Despite raising these issues, they remained outstanding for almost six months. Engineers attended, acknowledged some of the problems and indicated they would return, but the repairs were not completed. For a brand-new home, this level of aftercare was extremely disappointing.

Buying a new-build home should come with confidence that key handover information is accurate and verifiable. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience, and I hope Linden Homes reviews its handover procedures so that future buyers are shown their utility meters and given the opportunity to confirm opening readings before taking responsibility for utility charges.

Thanks to Hayley and Jaqueline, the representatives of Linden Homes, I was able to find the perfect house to live in.
I’m sure everything will be perfect till the move in day which I’m looking forward to.

Allison Melia at Ferriby Fields grimsby has been extremely knowledgeable, helpful and professional throughout. She took the time to properly listen to my circumstances, what I was looking for and what I needed, rather than simply trying to push me into making a decision.

Although, after further consideration, I have decided not to proceed at this stage due to my personal circumstances, this is no reflection at all on Allison or the service I received. I still intend to sell my house and move, but I need to resolve my personal situation and decide where I want to live first. I may rent temporarily rather than rush into buying somewhere.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Allison. She genuinely listens to her customers, understands their individual needs and provides honest, helpful advice.

The state in which Vistry Homes has left the Perrybrook development in Brockworth is absolutely disgraceful.

The development looks increasingly neglected, with dead trees, messy and poorly maintained residential areas and a general lack of care across the estate. The main spine road is particularly appalling. It has still not been properly topped, contains significant potholes and has numerous uneven surfaces. The condition of the road has already caused significant damage to cars belonging to residents.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. Rather than taking responsibility for the condition of the development, Vistry appears content to blame everyone else and pass responsibility elsewhere. Regardless of who they believe is technically responsible for individual issues, Vistry built and sold these homes as part of this development, and residents should not be left living with an estate that looks unfinished, neglected and poorly maintained.

Dead trees, poor landscaping, messy communal areas and an appalling road surface are not what residents should expect after investing significant amounts of money in new-build homes. The main road is particularly unacceptable and is becoming a genuine problem for residents and their vehicles.

Perrybrook has been left looking like an afterthought, and the lack of ownership from Vistry Homes is extremely disappointing. The development needs proper investment, maintenance and accountability - not endless excuses and finger-pointing.

When buying a new home, it's easy to focus solely on the property itself, but the people you deal with throughout the process make just as much of a difference.
From my very first interaction with Allison Melia, I felt supported rather than sold to. She was approachable, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions or provide updates without making the process feel transactional. There was a genuine human element to every conversation, which made what can often be a stressful experience feel much more straightforward and reassuring.
Throughout the purchase, communication was clear, and I always felt informed about what was happening next. That level of customer service gave me confidence that I had made the right decision.
Since moving into my new home at Ferriby Fields, there have been a few minor snags which is not uncommon with a new-build property. What has impressed me is how promptly Allison facilitated the response from Linden Homes. The issues have been acknowledged quickly, and the team has been proactive in arranging for them to be resolved. It's reassuring to see that the commitment to customer care continues after completion, not just during the sales process.
Overall, I'm very pleased with both my home and the experience of buying it. A sincere thank you to Alisson for her professionalism, patience, and genuine care throughout the journey, and to the Linden Homes team for continuing to provide responsive aftercare. Based on my experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Linden Homes to anyone considering a new-build home.
